Cirque Lodge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). It is an accreditation that allows an addiction treatment therapy program to provide service at the highest level. When it comes to alcohol and drug addiction treatment therapy, there are three elements. Usually to begin treatment, the individual must go through a detoxification process. After this is completed, the alcoholic/addict undergoes the treatment. After an appropriate treatment stay, aftercare is provided to continue the recovery process. Alcoholism and drug addiction aren't things that can be cured. The individual learns through these three elements the skills needed to manage and control their impulses. Hopefully this becomes a life long practice.

Addiction Treatment and Rehab Starts with Detox

In most cases, the individual entering alcohol rehab or drug rehab needs to be detoxified first. This is a period within a medical environment where they are stabilized and the toxins have an allotted time to run their course through the body. The length of stay on detox varies on the substance and how much is within the system (a common practice is to load up on the substance prior to entering treatment). Cirque Lodge does not offer detoxification. We focus on rehabilitation and drug and alcohol addiction treatment therapy. However we do work with a local medical detoxification facility, and provide transportation to and from this location.

An imperative aspect of the detoxification process is to treat the problems of withdrawal. When the alcoholic/addict is coming off of their substance of choice, the body can have negative reactions to this substance no longer being present within the system. Withdrawal can be a struggle. It can also be a very serious and life threatening issue. Within the detox facility close 24-hour monitoring and medications are utilized to stabilize the individual and control against negative withdrawal reactions. When this process is completed, a private vehicle will provide transportation to the Cirque Lodge facilities within the Utah Mountains.

Treatment at Cirque Lodge

Addiction treatment and rehab therapy is all we do at Cirque Lodge. This is an effective treatment that is personalized for the individual. Cirque is founded on the 12-step program, but also uses the most modern forms of cognitive and behavioral therapies. Woven into this is our experiential programming that provides a fun and effective approach to the recovery process. The alcohol and drug rehab program is carried out by a professional and caring treatment staff, committed to helping individuals to find solutions to their addiction problem.

Treatment at Cirque Lodge consists of a 30-day program. Primary care is carried out within these first 30-days. Residents receive a personalized treatment and begin to work the steps of recovery. In many cases, the first 30-days are not enough time within an addiction treatment environment. Cirque also has extended care programs available. Residents can work with their family and primary counselor on deciding on if additional care is needed. Upon completion of a primary or extended care stay, residents are provided a Continuing Care Plan to assist them through the recovery process. This plan consists of elements of aftercare.

Continuing Addiction Treatment with Aftercare

Alcoholism and drug addiction are chronic conditions, nothing that goes away. However, the desire to drink and use can lessen in time with personal effort. Aftercare elements can help to continue what alcohol and drug rehab began. Additional elements of help, care and therapy are available through outpatient programs. Continuing the recovery with additional help and drug addiction treatment therapy can be invaluable. Elements of aftercare can be volatile during this time. Aftercare options are provided residents of Cirque Lodge through their Continuing Care Plan provided.

Central to aftercare and the recovery process is continued work at the 12-steps. At Cirque, residents begin to work these steps while in the safety of the treatment facility. After rehab, however, it is up to them and their commitment to recovery to continue these steps. The help and support of 12-step meetings and programs like A.A. can be influential pieces to continuing this process and finding a meaningful and life long sobriety. At Cirque, we can begin this process. Once treatment is completed, it is up to the individual to continue this within their lives. We do all we can from a treatment center standpoint to prepare them for working this process on their own.
