Each residential addiction treatment plan is a different balance of therapies, workshops and lectures, experiential work, and 12-step groups in the evening. We strive to provide all the right elements of treatment and care, while making the overall experience here an effective one.

Addiction Treatment for the Individual

Each individual can have specific needs from a treatment standpoint. We use a rigorous assessment process upon admission into the drug and alcohol rehab program. This assessment provides inventories and insights into these individual needs. We take the results of this assessment and use them in creating an addiction treatment plan for that particular individual. This treatment plan is continually tailored to address individual needs and provide additional care according to progress.

A part of personalized care is to also help the individual in addressing their concerns and struggles. Alcoholism and drug addiction can play a part in much deeper emotional and psychological problems. One-on-one therapy sessions are provided for residents with a licensed primary counselor. This counselor is assigned to them upon admission and the counselor oversees the well being and treatment experience of the clients. We strive to provide each resident with the form and areas of treatment that they stand in need of.

Programs as a Group

Treatment programs also take advantage of the group setting. The developers of Alcoholics Anonymous found strength in sharing their stories with fellow alcoholics. It helped in building support. Group programs are used in addressing addiction and to provide support from one another. Different groups provide topics of discussion that are officiated by one of our treatment staff. 12-step groups are also put into motion, once clients are settled in and are working on a long term addiction treatment plan.

Experiential activities also give residents the chance to build strength and support for one another as a group. Some activities are used to challenge the addictive mindset. Residents work as a group to accomplish a problem solving exercise. These activities can create skills for the recovery process. Members of our experiential team are available to help with guidance and instruction. At the end of these exercises, residents sit down as a group and discuss what was learned through the activity, as well as how it applies to life and the recovery process.

Help for the Family

Alcoholism and drug addiction is a family struggle. Family members can also suffer from their loved ones addiction and substance abuse. Cirque Lodge provides a family program for the loved ones of our residents. This four day long program provides family members with an education on the nature of addiction, and also treatment and care for their areas of suffering. Workshops are also used to address problems within the home that enable addictive behavior. This can better prepare the family for the recovery process.

Special therapy sessions are also provided for family members to help them clear up some of the misconceptions and misunderstandings that were created under the influences of drugs and alcohol. Family discussions can help with open and honest feelings to tear down the barriers built up by addiction. It provides an avenue for love to heal. For some this can be difficult. In the long run this healing can be a needed part of recovery, and working the 12-steps. Family Week plays an effective part of our balanced addiction treatment plan.
