Personalized Treatment of the Alcoholic

Residents are encouraged to invite their family to come and participate in the program. Our family program consists of a number of elements. Lectures are provided to better educate the family on the nature and behaviors of addiction. This can clear up the misconceptions there are surrounding addiction. It can help the family better understand the problems their loved one is experiencing.

Special therapies are also a part of the family program at Cirque Lodge. Earlier we talked about the family struggles of alcohol addiction. In these therapy sessions, family members can address and discuss the problems of addiction within the home. This can be very difficult for some. In the long run however, can be an extremely effective piece to the recovery process. It helps to tear down the barriers that were built up by drinking and allow for love and healing.

Continued Help and Support

Alcohol addiction is something that does not go away. Once an addiction is developed the impulse to drink is ever present. The alcoholic must learn to manage their impulse to drink, and over time, these impulses lessen to an extent. The initial months of the recovery process are the most critical for the recovering alcoholic. Once these individuals leave alcohol rehab, they are again exposed to the influences that can lead to drinking. Prior to completing the alcohol and drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge, each resident is prescribed a continuing care plan for their recovery. The resident works with our aftercare staff in developing this plan. There are many elements that go into a continuing care plan. The plan is based upon the needs of the individual. When followed, it is a strong foundation for managing the addiction and long term sobriety.

Another way that Cirque Lodge provides continued alcohol rehab and recovery help for the alcoholic is with a Guesting Privilege. Cirque Alumni are allowed to return to the facility and guest with us for up to 72 hours. This is available at any time during the recovery process. It is only for those who have remained sober, and is based upon room availability and the consent of our treatment staff.
