The Cirque Lodge Studio

Originally, Cirque Lodge was just the small mountain alcohol treatment rehab in Sundance Utah. It was a limited enrollment program and had a very humble and small beginning. In no time at all, the success and demand of our unique treatment experience began to grow. To accommodate the need for this treatment modality, Cirque Lodge adopted a second facility in the Studio. Alcohol treatment rehab at the Studio mirrored the same in a recovery experience. The facility just allowed the program to treat a larger resident base.

The Studio is a massive facility. It offers accommodations to both men and women. Male accommodations are located on the first floor. Female accommodations are located on the third floor. The Studio gets its name from originally being a TV and movie studio. A renovation to the facility made it an ideal location for an alcohol and drug rehab program. The Studio is the home to Cirque's administrative offices and provides a number of venues for both experiential and family programming elements.

The Studio has many amenities to it. Similar to the Lodge, the Studio provides a private and exclusive alcohol treatment rehab elements. During downtime, residents can spend time working out with a trainer in the gym, playing games in our game room, and relax in our Jacuzzis and saunas. On special occasions, residents can enjoy a movie in the media room. The Studio facility also has a salon; where residents can get their hair done, as well as other esthetic treatments. These amenities are meant to enhance the alcohol rehab experience.

Treatment at the Studio

Alcohol treatment at the Studio reflects the same personalized addiction treatment program offered at the Lodge. This is a balance of many of the leading addiction therapies and recovery programs. Cirque is founded on 12-step program, and utilizes these concepts in rehabilitating alcoholics. Balanced into this experience are our experiential efforts. The difference to Cirque Lodge from other leading alcohol and drug rehab centers is the use of experiential therapies. The Studio provides venues for experiential activities that can create an essential internal change.

Residents who require more time in a rehab setting can find extended care programs at the Studio. Extended care is moving forward with additional recovery efforts for the alcoholic in need of additional care. A number of things are implemented into helping those in extended care to continue to successfully recover from their addictions. The alcoholic continues to work the 12-step program and 12-step fellowship and a temporary sponsor are introduced. Additional treatments and therapies are used, so the alcoholic can continue to further develop their skills for the recovery process.

Venues for Experiential Therapy

The large Studio facility gives us a number of indoor venues for experiential work. The 17,000 sq foot sound stage, which was originally used for making TV shows, now houses the largest indoor ropes and climbing facility in the world. Ropes activities and other team work and problem solving exercises are used to help clients with recovery and communication skills. These activities can have a profound effect on those seeking recovery. They also provide fun experiences and memories from the time spent in alcohol rehab.

The Studio is also a venue for our horse program. This powerful piece of experiential therapy work allows the recovering alcoholic to work openly and honestly with a horse. Clients develop skills in asking for help, assuming responsibility, and establishing trust and boundaries. We have indoor and outdoor venues for our equine program. No matter the time of year, residents can work with the horses and make that strong connection. It is always amazing to see how the horses impact the residents. It seems each resident gains exactly what they are in most need of with this exercise.

It is a balance of these types of activities, with the more traditional forms of treatment and therapy, which brought Cirque Lodge to the national picture of alcohol treatment facilities.
