Part of the purpose of Family Week is to provide a better education and understanding on alcoholism and drug addiction. Many different lectures and workshops are provided to help with this education. Family members can have a number of misconceptions when it comes to alcoholism, their loved one, and how it has affected their lives. This education can create a better understanding on all of it, including problems with codependency. Most relationships with alcoholism or addiction involved can be diagnosed as codependent.
