After primary care, the 12-step program continues through Alcoholics Anonymous on an outpatient basis.

Extended Care in Alcohol Treatment

When dealing with alcoholism, 30-days usually isn't enough time for rehabilitation. When the 30-day treatment period is completed, the primary counselor and treatment staff can make recommendations on additional treatment options. Of course, it is still up to the individual whether they stay in the alcoholism treatment program.

Extended care is a step forward in the progress in recovery, not a step back. Many programs will seem to rehash the original 30-day program. At Cirque Lodge, extended care is carried out at the Studio facility, with other residents in the additional program. Programs are provided for extended care clients of a different spectrum. This includes an involvement in outside support meetings and working with an addiction sponsor.

Individuals recovering from alcoholism learn valuable elements of outside recovery programs, while still in the safety of our residential alcohol and alcohol rehab program. The 12-step program is built upon in extended care. Clients have the opportunity to begin work on the 4th and 5th steps of recovery. These steps are considered by many to be the most difficult in the process. By being in a caring and safe facility, such a step can be made a little easier to undergo.

Continuing Care in Alcoholism Treatment

Whether it is a primary or an extended stay at Cirque Lodge, the client is prescribed a continuing care plan for their recovery. This plan is to be followed after they leave the care of the facility. Some Cirque Lodge clientele will remain close by the alcoholism treatment facility for their initial months of recovery. Cirque Lodge provides a number of aftercare and outside 12-step programs for those in recovery. For individuals who do not stay close, the continuing care plan involves programs and groups that are in their own community.
