For Alcohol and Drug Rehab

At Cirque Lodge, the experiential program is ever expanding with new levels of experiences for individuals in need of drug rehab. One of our newer elements is our Art Room. Dave Beck, our experiential director explains the use of art and pottery in addiction treatment. The Cirque Lodge art room is equipped with pottery wheels and our own kiln. Drug rehab residents have opportunities to participate many different art projects. One would be amazed at the therapeutic responses that come from working with clay.

The Art Room gives individuals a chance to work with their hands. Over time, alcohol and drug addiction can have many negative affects. Dave Beck discusses the process of working with clay and how that can help the recovering alcoholic/addict with affected motor skills. The pots, bowls, pitchers and cups also serve as a memento to their stay in drug rehab. They can be a reminder of recovery, and the experiences shared here in the serenity of the mountains.
