Extended Care Services in Drug Rehab

It isn't simply rehashing the same 30-day program over and over again. The treatment is consistently personalized to continue to make breakthroughs in recovery. Extended care at Cirque Lodge is still effectively structured to address addiction issues, but also focuses more on different aspects of recovery. A health and wellness program is provided to help with physical recovery. There is also continued emphasis on personalized therapy to get to the heart of the addiction issues. The focus in extended care is to prepare the client for a more effective recovery. In extended care clients are introduced to 12-step meetings, support groups, and an addiction sponsor. This prepares them for the social environment that is needed for life after rehab. Spending time with an addiction sponsor can help to prepare the client for difficult social environments where a relapse into addiction may present itself. Such social preparation can be therapeutic, as well as effective for those in need of more focused efforts for recovery. This introduction can make attendance and use of these programs easier and more desired. Extended care in drug rehab allows for more time and implementation of the 12-step program. Primarily, only the initial two or three steps of the 12-step modality are addressed in a two to four week program. Extended care provides time and the environment for a solid foundation of the first three steps. A lengthier stay provides time to introduce further steps of the 12-step approach.
