Extended Care Services in Drug Rehab
High in the mountains of Utah is an answer for those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addictions. The Studio is home to the administrative offices, experiential activities, and provides accommodations for individuals in extended care. For many cases of addiction, the 30-day program isn't nearly enough. However, most treatment officials feel that a 90-day program is the most effective way to treat the problems that arise from alcohol and drug addiction. The Cirque program offers an extended care facility at the Studio for those who wish to continue the recovery process on an inpatient basis. Cirque Lodge takes a proactive approach to extended care. It isn't simply rehashing the same 30-day program over and over again. The treatment is consistently personalized to continue to make breakthroughs in recovery. Extended care at Cirque Lodge is still effectively structured to address addiction issues, but also focuses more on different aspects of recovery. A health and wellness program is provided to help with physical recovery. There is also continued emphasis on personalized therapy to get to the heart of the addiction issues. The focus in extended care is to prepare the client for a more effective recovery. In extended care clients are introduced to 12-step meetings, support groups, and an addiction sponsor. This prepares them for the social environment that is needed for life after rehab. Spending time with an addiction sponsor can help to prepare the client for difficult social environments where a relapse into addiction may present itself. Such social preparation can be therapeutic, as well as effective for those in need of more focused efforts for recovery. This introduction can make attendance and use of these programs easier and more desired. Extended care in drug rehab allows for more time and implementation of the 12-step program. Primarily, only the initial two or three steps of the 12-step modality are addressed in a two to four week program. Extended care provides time and the environment for a solid foundation of the first three steps. A lengthier stay provides time to introduce further steps of the 12-step approach. Those in extended care at Cirque Lodge can learn the importance of the fourth and fifth steps, and can begin to make amends for the things they impede their progress in recovery. It is nice to know there are endless programs available to continually help those in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Even still, it is left up to them to truly make the change from within.
