Helping a Loved One into Drug Rehab

Using Patience, Planning, Intervention and Love

Helping a Loved One Into Drug Rehab We all know someone, either family or friends, that may be struggling with an alcohol or drug addiction. We want to help them, but maybe we don't know how. Perhaps in the past we have brought it up, only to be met by hostility and resistance. With patience and planning, we can assist our loved one in finding the right drug rehab program for them.

If it is an addiction problem, the time to act is now. Many people feel that have to wait it out until the addict bottoms out. Bottoming out can mean death, or severe psychological and physical damage. The time to act is now. Create a plan to help your loved one with treatment.

Part of this plan can be to perform an intervention. The purpose of an intervention is to motivate and inspire a loved one into addiction treatment. These should be carried out in a non-confrontational environment. Using a professional in these matters can be beneficial. Many of the leading intervention professionals have had thousands of successful interventions.

A professional interventionist will carefully plan out the intervention with the family. In this way the family can be better prepared. In the initial moments an intervention can become a little contentious. When it is planned correctly, the family can show love and motivation. This can be touching to the addict; when it is realized their families love and concern.

In this setting an addict is 70-80% more likely to admit to treatment. An intervention professional can make the entire treatment and rehabilitation process a little easier on the addict and the family. They take into account the addict's needs and can suggest the right drug rehab facility. He also can keep tabs on the addict's progress on behalf of the family.

When a successful intervention is carried out, many of the professional interventionists will continue to monitor progress. Interventionists work with many treatment facilities. They can suggest the right treatment program for you or your loved one. This information was provided by Cirque Lodge, a private drug rehab facility in the mountains of Sundance Utah. Cirque Lodge works with many of the nation's leading interventionists in an effort to treat those suffering from addiction.
