Mountain Drug Rehab Activities

The mountain surroundings of the Cirque Lodge addiction treatment center are ideal for many of the drug rehab activities. We believe the spirit of the mountain can provide aspects of healing that can not be found in therapy sessions. We offer a number of activities that are based in being surrounded by the mountain and nature. The drug rehab program is centered on daily activities as a part of each treatment day. It is a needed balance to addiction treatment that gives the client the chance to meditate on their own road to recovery.

The Provo Canyon is a famous destination for many mountain based activities. The clients of the Cirque Lodge program can enjoy many of these activities as a part of therapeutic experience. These activities include nature hikes, river rafting, mountain biking, and even bonfires on special occasions. The Provo River is a world famous fly fishing destination. Fly fishing is one of the activities that is a part of our drug rehab structure. All of these mountain activities are a great balance to rigors caused by the intensity of overcoming alcohol or drug addiction.

The most unique of our mountain drug rehab activities involves the private Cirque Lodge helicopter. Our clients have the opportunity to go for a private tour of the local surrounding mountains. The Cirque Lodge helicopter offers the utmost in luxury flying. These nature flights are an interesting aspect of the drug rehab program. The helicopter lands in remote mountain locations that are only accessible in this manner. Our clients have a chance to hike around as well as take some time to enjoy the silence and meditate. It is a chance to experience wildlife in their natural setting as well. It is one of our unique activities that many of our clients enjoy.

Studio Drug Rehab Activities

Many of the activities we have take place at the studio location of Cirque Lodge. The studio is home to our drug rehab staff and administrative offices. The studio is a 100,000 square foot facility on 12 private acres. This much space is nice because it allows us to perform a number of our activities indoors, during the winter months of the year. The 17,000 square foot sound stage houses our ropes course facility, as well as many of our other experiential activities. The challenge of the ropes course is likened unto the challenge of the addiction, and many recovery lessons are learned.

The studio also houses the Cirque Lodge horses. Cirque Lodge is known in the addiction treatment industry for its equine program. Working with horses is a staple to the effectiveness of the drug rehab program. Equine therapy is not riding horses. Rather it is working with horses through a number of basic activities. The horses function as a natural intervention and are a unique part of our drug rehab staff. The client can learn lessons in asking for help and the importance of trust and communication. It is truly a therapeutic experience for those who strive to benefit from our addiction treatment center.

A fairly new aspect of our activities is our art room. The art room gives our clients a chance to express themselves in a completely different way. The arts and crafts created can help the client to work out some things they are dealing with. We have even added pottery tables and a kiln to our art room. Our pottery specialist can show our drug rehab clients the intricacies of pot making and design. This skill learned in pot making can help the resident come to terms with their addiction problems.

Family Drug Rehab Activities

One of our noted drug rehab activities is family week. Family week is a designated program for the family members of our clients. It is an integral part of the recovery experience at the Cirque lodge drug rehab program. Family week occurs every three weeks of treatment. We invite the family members and closed loved ones of our clients to come and participate in this program. Family activities include lectures, family focus groups, and experiential elements.

Family week allows the family to participate in some of the ropes and nature based drug rehab activities. The ropes course is made up of a number of high and low ropes activities. A part of family week is working on some of the low ropes activities. These activities are cognitively based to teach important lessons on working together and communication. The nature activities include a nature hike into the mountains to experience the serenity and peace of recovery. These moments shared as a family can be therapeutic for healing within the drug rehab program. It also is a chance for the loved ones to experience the unique but effective approach to the Cirque Lodge addiction treatment center.

The main importance of the family week activities is to help the family grow closer together. Alcohol and drug addiction does not discriminate. It can affect family members as deeply as it does the alcoholic or addict. Family week provides a personal environment to help the family members grow together by working with a drug rehab counselor. Many of our clients have issues to work out with their families. It is these issues that have led them down the road to addiction. Family therapy in conjunction with addiction treatment therapy can help to clear up the family problems and develop an atmosphere of healing and support.
