When a resident of the Cirque Lodge facility has completed treatment, they are not left alone to their own accord. Aftercare is provided for each client to take full advantage of the outpatient recovery programs that are available. The Cirque Lodge aftercare coordinator seeks out the best outpatient programs for each client. These consist of support groups and programs that are close to the resident's home. This helps them with convenience and being surrounded by a supportive environment. In some cases, the resident will choose to live elsewhere to help them in a sober environment. Drug rehab aftercare will provide them proper measures of support groups and programs in whatever area they choose to reside.

12-Steps and Aftercare

Cirque Lodge, like many treatment facilities, is modeled after the 12-step program. The 12-step method is a storied approach to handling alcohol and drug addiction issues. The 12-step method developed by Alcoholics Anonymous has been used for the past 70 for developing effective recovery skills. A drug rehab program adapts the 12-step modality and uses it as a foundation for the entire recovery process. The 12-step program is a step by step process of finding a higher power, getting help from this power and others, helping overcome the personal things yourself, and finally helping others achieve the same. It is an effective approach of both drug rehab healing and outpatient support programs.

The entire 12-step process is not achieved as a resident of rehab. Usually the process allows time to achieve the first three steps of the 12-step process. Treatment is designed to help the individual come to terms with addiction and to establish a connection with a higher power. For the clients of Cirque Lodge in need of extended care treatment, the 12-step process is extended into additional steps during the drug rehab program. Once a solid foundation of the first few steps is established, continuing the 12-step process is made available by the help of support groups and outpatient 12-step meetings. Support in Drug Rehab Aftercare

Aftercare consists of a number of things. The basic component of aftercare programs is support from others in recovery. Support groups are a vital crutch for the recovery process. For some individuals, after rehab, they are exposed to the same influences and situations that lead them to addiction before they entered treatment. Aftercare is needed for these individuals, so that they can continue in sober practices. When the individual is surrounded by proper means of support, recovery becomes easier. Cirque Lodge provides specific support groups for the client's area on need. We are not going to send someone recovering from cocaine to an Alcoholics Anonymous program. We focus on finding the best support groups for the graduates of our drug rehab program. Locally, the Cirque Lodge Studio facility is home to many of these support meetings and programs.

Support groups can vary, but the majority of them appoint addiction sponsors. An addiction sponsor is a personal support in a one-on-one environment. A sponsor is ideal for dealing with situations where the individual in recovery may be tempted to relapse. A sponsor is someone who has worked the 12-steps and achieved successful recovery. As a part of the recovery process, a sponsor is available to help others achieve success in sobriety. At Cirque Lodge, a part of drug rehab extended care is support groups and an appointed addiction sponsor. Upon completion of addiction treatment, a sponsor is a vital part of drug rehab aftercare.
