Drug Rehab Alumni

Over the years, Cirque Lodge has been blessed to treat a number of individuals in need of a drug rehab program. The serenity of the mountains provides a private and exclusive place to overcome alcohol or drug addiction. Part of the drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge in Sundance Utah is providing activities and services for our drug rehab alumni in recovery. This begins with a Continuing Care Plan for residents prior to leaving the addiction treatment facility. There are also weekly aftercare meetings and gatherings to support the recovery process. The most noted alumni activity is our annual reunion help each fall. Recovery from addiction is a process. As a leading treatment facility, we strive to provide alumni with furthering care and support for this process.

It Begins with the Drug Rehab Program

Cirque Lodge alumni begin as residents of either the Lodge or Studio addiction treatment facilities. Those who struggle with alcoholism or drug addiction are treated with an innovative and unique recovery program. A drug rehab stay consists of effective personal, group and family therapies. This is combined with the efforts of the unique experiential program. Experiential activities provide effective indoor and outdoor venues for learning the skills of recovery. The foundation of this approach is the 12-step recovery program and an emphasis on treating the body, mind and spirit.

Every drug rehab alumni probably has amusing stories about their experiences in experiential therapy. The experiential portion of the Cirque Lodge program is what sets apart our treatment center as a little different then others. Experiential therapy involves learning recovery lessons through activity. These activities include: hiking, river rafting, mountain biking, pottery, helicopter flights, and our indoor ropes facility. The most noted experiential activity is of course our equine experience. Our clients benefit from working with horses in indoor and outdoor facilities. All in all it is therapeutic life altering experience. Each and every alumni probably has a story to tell about their experience working with horses.

To assist our alumni after rehab we offer a Continuing Care Plan. Continuing treatment with outpatient programs is recommended to maintain support in recovery. Drug rehab aftercare consists of continued support groups, 12-step meetings, and addiction sponsors. Surrounding oneself with the right elements of support makes recovery an easier process of becoming a success.

Benefits for Our Alumni

To assist in recovery Cirque Lodge offers some privileges for our alumni. We supply the graduates of our program with a guesting privilege. Recovery is a difficult process. For some the road of recovery can be challenging. The guesting privilege is an alternative to relapsing. It is a chance to return to the Cirque Lodge facility for up to 72 hours and once again benefiting from the program. The guesting privilege is a chance to refocus efforts on recovery and remembering coping strategies against relapse. The guesting privilege is based on room availability and is only available to those who have not relapsed back into addiction.

Our drug rehab alumni also can return and participate in programs during family week. Cirque Lodge is known for its family program. Family Week occurs every three weeks into our treatment cycle. It is an opportunity for the family of our clients to participate in programs designed chiefly for the family. Our alumni in need of support and affirmation can return for family week and participate in these activities and lectures. It is just another chance to refocus efforts on sobriety.

Reunion for Drug Rehab Alumni

Each fall Cirque Lodge hosts its alumni reunion. It is a chance for the alumni of our addiction treatment program to return and enjoy the experience that is the drug rehab program. Our alumni come from all over the world to return and experience the serenity of the mountains. During the three day weekend of the alumni reunion it is a chance to reunite with all those that were influential in recovery.

The Alumni Reunion consists of a weekend of recovery activities. These activities include a 12-step speaker meeting, guest lectures/speakers and recovery activities. The culmination of the reunion is the bonfire in the mountains. Drug rehab alumni can use this special meeting in the mountains as a place to rekindle their flame for recovery. The Cirque Lodge kitchen staff provides delicious foods and dining throughout this weekend of activities. The numbers of returning alumni each year is staggering. It speaks to the success of the addiction treatment program.

The alumni reunion provides a means to building needed drug rehab support. Support can be a needed crutch throughout the recovery process. Whether the client is new to addiction treatment, or an alumnus who has had several years of sobriety under their belt, support can provide them with a place to strengthen their resolve.
