The drug rehab curriculum at Cirque Lodge, Sundance Utah is one of the most successful and unique in the nation. We treat many different types of alcohol and drug addictions. Alcohol as a drug is one of the most sinister of all because of its detrimental effects on the brain and is so readily available. For the finest in
drug rehab modalities and addiction treatment, call Cirque Lodge at 1-877-99-REHAB.
Our drug treatment program is designed to address the individual needs of our residents. We believe that to effectively treat the disease of drug addiction, we must tailor the program to each person's medical, family and social circumstances. We base our drug rehab treatment on the twelve steps originally developed by AA because of its great successes over many decades. To this we add a comprehensive individual and group therapy counseling program.

In addition, because of our unique location in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains, we have access to many wonderful wilderness areas where our residents can reconnect to their higher power and gain the rejuvenation provided by our mountain setting.
Drug Abuse Versus Drug Addiction
Many people ask us what the difference between simple drug abuse and drug addiction is. The simple answer is that drug abuse occurs on a less frequent basis than a full addiction. When drug addiction manifests itself, the person has lost control, or the ability to stop using the drug. A cycle ensues, which we call the cycle of shame wherein an addict uses the drug to stop the pain, then feels badly about having lost control, which leads to a feeling of shame. The shame leads to drug abuse to mask the pain, and so on. This is addiction.
Drug Rehab and Addiction Treatment
Prior to entering the drug rehab facility at Cirque Lodge, a complete assessment of each resident is completed, along with a health and physical exam. This allows our professional staff to structure the drug treatment program to best suit the requirements of the resident. The first few days are typically the most difficult, and for this reason, we limit the contact each resident has with outside family or personal contacts. Once the resident has shown to be stabilized in treatment, this restriction is removed.
A comprehensive
drug rehab structure is developed to address the resident's specific drug addiction. Counselors and case managers are assigned to each resident. This facilitates the drug rehabilitation process and helps to sustain the quality of the program.
Family Week as Part of Our Rehab Curriculum
We know that family members placing their loved one in drug rehab are worried, confused, weary, and may even feel hopeless. We have planned Family Week to assist families and loved ones with these concerns. Rehab treatment of alcoholism and drug addictions has a family focus because everyone in the family is being affected by the disease of drug addiction.
Family Week is designed to give residents and family members an honest look at the disease of alcoholism and drug addictions and to examine how they have affected them personally.
During this
drug rehab for families we discuss the disease concept of drug addiction. This is to aide the family in an understanding of how the use of addicting substances creates a progressive, persuasive, incurable, and life threatening illness. We specify the rehab treatment curriculum used to bring it into remission. Residents will become more self-aware as to how they acquired this illness and how it has affected their life. They will learn how to enlist family and other significant persons into their alcohol or drug recovery program.
We provide family members insight on how the disease of alcohol addiction and drug addiction has changed the resident's behavior, thereby creating a condition called co-dependency. Family members will learn how to respond to the resident in new ways that promotes wellness. Family members will also be shown the need to change themselves and how to make these changes in order to better help their loved one who is in rehab.

Content and skills training on key topics are presented. These include: communications and relationship skills for self-awareness, self-esteem, guilt, shame and relapse issues.
It is our goal to help family members see the need for the changes. These changes must occur to move from the survival lifestyle that has gradually taken over the way they think, feel and act. It is not enough for the resident to just stop using alcohol or their drug of choice and remain sober, though this is an essential and great accomplishment. Recovery is an active change process of replacing old ways with more functional behaviors. This includes creating a positive relationship with ourselves, with each other as family members, with members of society at large, and with our higher power. The road to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is a long and arduous one. With our Family Week we strive to provide both the resident and their family member with the knowledge and tools to assist them on the road to recovery from drug abuse and addiction.
The format for Family Week consists of four days, (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). We are pleased to have families and loved ones attend and to make the extra effort to participate. Family Week is presented every third week at the Studio drug rehab center. It gives the client and their family a way to build
drug rehab support for the recovery process. Please feel free to call Cirque Lodge at 1-877-997-3422 for the next Family Week. Family Week is a invaluable aspect to drug rehab addiciton treatment.
