Multifaceted Drug Treatment Program

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Enjoying a Nature WalkAlcohol and drug addiction is a disease that affects any walk of life. This makes the process of treating addiction a little more challenging. What works as drug treatment for one individual, may not be as effective for treating another. People in drug rehab come from different backgrounds. They require different forms of treatment for their specific addiction.

The Cirque Lodge approach to treating addiction is multifaceted. Founded upon the 12-step modality, alcohol and drug treatment is also personalized to provide particular attentions to the struggles of each individual. This is balanced with effective forms of group and one-on one therapy. The difference to Cirque Lodge is found in its emphasis of experiential activities as a part of treatment. These therapeutic activities enhance the recovery process, and teach imperative life and coping skills.

A multifaceted drug treatment program provides different results needed by each individual. Some may require a large amount of personalized one-on-one time with a counselor/therapist. Others may benefit more from the outdoor activities and the experiential program. And yet, some still may find recovery easier through the assistance of support groups and the 12-step program. At Cirque Lodge, we offer many elements of recovery from drugs and alcohol. With a personalized emphasis, we can find the treatment elements that best suit the needs of each individual.

Helping to Sleep in Drug Rehab

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Shared Room at the LodgeWhen a person is taken off of drugs or alcohol, the body can have a number of adverse reactions. This is known as withdrawal. The physical struggles of withdrawal are primarily taken care of during the detoxification process. However, psychological withdrawal usually takes a little longer to overcome. The most common issue of this withdrawal is anxiety, which causes unwanted restlessness and sleeplessness.

A part of effective drug rehab is helping to treat this withdrawal. If an individual is able to get to sleep, they are more likely to be more comfortable, and stay within the program. At Cirque Lodge, we provide a number of elements to help our clients with getting to sleep. These are therapeutic things meant to help the entire body. Many fine amenities from comfortable beds, to massages to saunas are provided to help our clients overcome the restlessness and get a good nights rest.

Each night clients have a closing group. This is a group geared to help with relaxation and reducing stress. Clients are given a chance to relax, meditate, and let go of the stresses in their lives. Letting go such things can be an important aspect of reducing some of the stresses caused by addiction withdrawal. Clients get a better nights rest, and are in a better mindset to face the challenges of overcoming addiction.

Continuing Steps to Recovery

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

12-Step RecoveryWhen an individual comes for treatment they are introduced to the 12-step program. During this time, efforts are made to establish the initial steps of the 12-step model. These initial steps help the recovering addict/alcoholic realize that they have a problem, and connect with a power greater than their own. For individuals in need of a lengthier stay, additional steps are introduced.

12-step recovery is helpful after completing drug rehab. Continuing these steps after rehab provides structure for recovery. There are support networks and programs available virtually everywhere. Such support can be quite influential in specific times of need. When a person leaves rehab, they can be exposed to a lot of the old influences they struggle with. With 12-steps and influential support, these struggles can seem far less to those in recovery. The 12-steps begin in rehab. It is the loving support of 12-step groups out in the world that continue the success of recovery.

Family Program in Drug Rehab

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Family Program in Drug RehabSometimes, it isn’t the addict alone who is suffering. The addict’s behavior has also had a strain and impact on family members as well. While the addict is in drug rehab getting well, the family member could very well still be suffering. This can be hard to deal with. It can also cause a problem in recovery.

To address this, Cirque Lodge offers an involved family program as a part of treatment. The family program takes place every three weeks of the treatment process. This allows every client to benefit from the program. Clients are encouraged to invite family members and close loved ones to attend. The program itself involves a number of elements and events. Family members get to experience many aspects of Cirque Lodge, as well as experiential activities. They are educated on the nature of addiction, and the importance of the families role in recovery.

This environment can be influential on family members who may be struggling. Group and personal therapies are provided. In these sessions, families are allowed to discuss and address some underlying issues that the addiction has brought about. This can bring needed closure and healing to both the addict and the family member. Cirque Lodge’s emphasis on the family is one reason for such an effective program.

Personalized Alcohol Treatment

Struggling with Alcohol AbuseAlcohol abuse is a problem that all of us at some point have to face. If it is not ourselves personally that has a problem with alcohol consumption, it is someone that we care about. Drinking alcohol is a perfectly acceptable practice, and for the majority of us, abuse will never be an issue. However, there are still some who will struggle and develop dependence to alcohol. This can be caused by a number of internal factors. For many, overcoming alcoholism can only be brought about through alcohol treatment or a drug rehab program.

Now, what about these internal factors? Alcohol is used at times to suppress feelings, emotions, and the psychological things that the individual may be struggling with. This self medication is an easy treatment for the problem at hand at the time. In the long run however, the internal things do not go away, and the disease of addiction takes over. Now alcohol consumption becomes less about addressing the internal things and more about drinking to satisfy the craving.

With alcohol rehab, treatment is personalized to address the internal elements of the addiction problem. This is done by tailoring the alcohol treatment to address the needs of the individual. One-on-one therapy is used to get to the heart of the matter. Personalized treatment also helps to address the addiction itself. The program again is tailored to provide the best forms of treatment for the individual. Addiction treatment is not the same for each individual. What benefits one might not be as effective for another. By personalizing alcohol rehab, the recovering alcoholic can better benefit from more specific types of treatments.

Connecting With a Higher Power

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Connecting With a Higher PowerWhen a person comes to rehab, usually they are at their lowest. It can be a struggle to give up the drugs and the alcohol that has taken them, the individual, over. Sometimes there is even a bleakness, or dark outlook on their life. By using a 12-step program, people can find answers for their addiction, in a power greater then their own.

Recovery can be found through connecting with a higher power. There are many realms of belief and spirituality out there. This connection is different based on the individual and their beliefs. A connection with a higher power can make the recovery process an easier experience. It can provide a change of convictions, emotions, and even provide a psychological change. At Cirque Lodge, clients of the drug rehab program are provided many opportunities to connect with a power greater then their own. Such a vital spiritual experience can remove many of the negatives that are brought on by the difficulties of addiction.

Accomodations and Amenities in Drug Rehab

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Accommodations in Drug RehabResidents of Cirque Lodge are treated with the finest in accommodations and living conditions. This emphasis on comfort allows for a more pleasurable drug rehab experience. In addition to accommodations, rehab clients enjoy fine dining, exercise facilities, saunas, a hair salon, and massage therapy. To many, these things may seem as posh elements unnecessary to drug rehab.

The accommodations and amenities are used by the program to overall provide the finest treatment experience. As an individual entering drug rehab, you would feel more at home and comfortable knowing you are being treated well by the facility. As a family member sending a loved one into rehab, it is easier to sleep at night knowing that your loved one is in good hands.

It is alcohol and drug rehab however. The amenities provided are to provide comfort to what is a difficult road to recovery. The days are still filled with on-on-one therapies, and treatment programs geared to address the disease of addiction. This can be as difficult a struggle that any one may ever have to face. The amenities are there, after the therapies, to help the individual relax and wind down after a day of intensive treatments.

Guesting, A Cirque Lodge Drug Rehab Privilege

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Successful RecoveryOnce a person leaves the drug rehab program, they have to go back to life as it was. The problem is that sometimes the same influences that lead to addiction are still present. This can make it difficult at times to stay sober. Aftercare is provided to assist the recovery process with additional help. At Cirque Lodge, additional help is taken a step further with The Guesting Privilege.

The Cirque Lodge Guesting Privilege is provided to all graduates of the alcohol and drug treatment program. This privilege allows each graduate to return to the facility, free of charge for up to a 96 hour stay, whenever they stand in need of additional help. Now there are criteria that needs met before this privilege is allowed. It is based on room availability, and only offered to individuals who have stayed sober.

For individuals who are struggling, this is an added comfort. It gives them a chance once and a while to get a way and refocus on recovery. It can be beneficial for individuals who aren’t as strong as they once were when they left rehab. For other individuals, The Guesting Privilege is a chance to return to the mountains and to remember the experience. Graduates of the program have used the privilege to return and collect their chips on sobriety birthdays, as well as other significant occasions. It is just one the many aspects of Cirque Lodge that has helped us come to the fore front of the addiction treatment field.

Learning Support Through Experiential Activities

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Learning Support Through Experiential ActivitiesThere are many facets to the experiential program, a part of drug rehab at Cirque Lodge. Experiential activities include a number of indoor and outdoor programs that teach a number of recovery concepts. One facet of the experiential program is to help recovering alcoholics and addicts develop support. There are a number of experiential activities that require working as a group to accomplish the task at hand. Through this, the individual can develop the skills needed to ask for, as well as show support.

Recovery from addiction is a process, and many times it requires a helping hand. The support of a group can make it much easier to resist the impulses to use and abuse drugs or drink. At Cirque Lodge, support is found in a number of ways. With experiential activities, support is found by accomplishing tasks that are fun and learning experiences. Someone who may be struggling to ask for help can learn the importance of asking for help from those that support them. The experiential program just provides more of an interactive and open environment for this to happen.

After rehab, support can be a needed crutch. With what is learned from the support network found through Cirque Lodge, the recovering individual is more prepared to seek such support when needed.
