An Active Drug Rehab Program

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Cirque Lodge Residents on an Experiential ActivityCirque Lodge offers an active drug rehab program. We allow drug rehab clients to get actively involved in our program. This helps to promote a physical recovery from their addiction. Health wise, the body can be struggling when it comes to years of drug abuse. It is neglected basic living needs in an effort to feed the addiction. An active program helps to promote health and wellness, which can be positives for the recovery process.

Clients of our alcohol and drug rehab program have daily opportunities to go to the gym and exercise. At the Lodge, a personal gym is a part of the facility. At the Studio, clients can go to Gold’s Gym or even work with one of our certified personal trainers. As the recovery process continues, the physical wellbeing of the client greatly improves.

Another part to the Cirque Lodge program is our experiential element. This is a highly effective program we use. The majority of experiential activities that are used are physical in nature. We have experiential activities for all levels of physical capability. As the client improves on their physical conditioning, they can take part in more rigorous experiential activities. This physical improvement can be a great difference from when they entered rehab. It also gives them unique strategies for battling the impulse to use when they leave the drug rehab program.

Man Struggling with AlcoholismAlcoholism is a downward slope, and for a lot of people it takes treatment to get back up again. With the way things are right now in society, the down economy and all, people are turning to the bottle for an answer to their problems. This only numbs the reality of life, and actually for some will compound the problem through developing an addiction. Cirque Lodge is here to help you. We are a private and personal alcohol rehab and drug rehab facility.

It can be a struggle when dealing with an alcohol addiction. Sometimes the person doesn’t even feel like they need help. Others may feel the need for help, but may not know where to turn. At the Cirque Lodge, we can provide answers for the alcohol problem. Addiction treatment is personalized for each client. We strive to provide the very best care, therapy programs, and recovery elements for individuals and families suffering from alcoholism. It is family problem, and we provide a specialized program for family members of the alcoholic as well.

Alcoholism is different than other forms of drug addiction. Habitual abuse of alcohol has negative effects on the overall health of a person. Type-2 diabetes is common among alcoholics. They can also have liver failure and heart conditions. Withdrawal from denying oneself alcohol can result in seizures and even death. For those we know with alcohol addictions, we need to act, and get them the help they deserve. Cirque Lodge is one such alcohol and drug rehab facility. We are committed to helping you or your loved one combat the battles of alcoholism.

Drug Rehab, Healing and a Helicopter

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

At Cirque Lodge, treatment is a unique balance of traditional therapies, the 12-step program, and experiential activities. The experiential portion provides a unique element to alcohol and drug rehab. It provides a venue for applying what has been developed through other areas of treatment. It also provides a venue for getting in touch with the spiritual elements of recovery and the 12-step program. One way we do this is with the Cirque Lodge Helicopter.

We use nature and our mountain environment to our advantage. Drug rehab clients are immersed in their natural surroundings and invited to experience the healing that stems from the spirit of the mountain. With the Cirque Lodge Helicopter clients can have this experience from a completely unique vantage point. These flights are provided for clients who have been in the program long enough to work the first two steps of recovery, and are working on the third step. It is a tour of the mountains, the canyon, and some of the local sights.

The Helicopter lands on a high mountain top, only accessible by means of flight. Here drug rehab clients have a chance to go off on their own, meditate and reflect. The personal experience that is encountered is different for each individual, but can have lasting impact. On the mountain, in the quiet, one can find that connection to their higher power.

Support for the Recovery Process

Building Support for the Recovery ProcessThe recovery process can be a little easier when one doesn’t go it alone. Support can be a necessary crutch for dealing with the impulses of addiction. Most recovery programs use support groups to help individuals stay clean, focused and working on goals. Being surrounded by positive influences can make a difference. For clients of the Cirque Lodge, this support begins in alcohol and drug rehab.

From counselors, to cleaning staff, to fellow residents, Support is provided for recovery. Throughout the treatment experience, many therapy elements and activities are provided in a group setting. This is to help build support for recovery. Cirque Lodge is a 12-step program, based on the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. As a 12-step program, a part of treatment is to attend meetings and work with a sponsor. This continues to build a support network around the individual.

Once alcohol or drug rehab is completed, the individual in recovery is once again faced by the troubles and temptations of the world. A supportive environment can ease the burdens of dealing with such problems. To assist in this, each client is provided with means of aftercare when they leave our facility. This includes a continuing involvement in AA, NA, CA, or a subsequent recovery program. Through this means the individual can find needed support, and continue to work with their higher power towards a successful recovery.

Dual Diagnosis Drug Rehab Facility

Girl Struggling with Addiction and Depression

Cirque Lodge is a dual diagnosis alcohol and drug rehab facility. Individuals who struggle with mood disorders like depression or anxiety are more susceptible to the influences of addictive substances. Individuals will turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to self medicate the psychiatric condition. Because of the condition, they are more likely to become addicted. As a dual diagnostic facility, the clients of Cirque Lodge benefit from treatment for their condition, as well as appropriate alcohol and drug rehab. This all begins with a personalized approach to treating each individual.

Dual diagnosis is also advantageous to those who are unaware of a psychiatric condition. This can be due to the influence of drugs and alcohol. Once in rehab and off of drugs or drink, a person can experience something like a mood disorder. As a dual diagnosis facility, our therapists can decipher if this is a psychiatric condition, or if it is a result of addiction withdrawal. There are times when individuals turn to drugs to suppress feelings that they don’t even realize are a psychiatric condition. When such things are diagnosed, treatment is tailored to provide the right elements of therapy and drug rehab programs.

Drug Rehab Begins with a Caring Staff

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Caring Staff Members at Cirque LodgeThe caring staff at Cirque Lodge consists of a number of unique personalities. They are committed to helping you or a loved one achieve a lasting sobriety from alcohol and drug addiction. Many of Cirque Lodge’s staff is in successful recovery themselves. Some have even found this recovery through alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge. This is a continuance of working the 12-step program. Once you find recovery for yourself, you take this message to fellow addicts and alcoholics to help them. There is not a better place than an addiction treatment facility to share this message with others in need.

The Cirque Lodge staff is one that exceeds every expectation. They go beyond the call of duty to help clients feel comfortable, and find answers for their addiction problems. Part of this has to do with the fact that many counselors and case workers were in a similar situation not too long ago. They strive to help clients have the very best possible treatment experience; the way it was for them when they found recovery. Cirque Lodge has a highly effective drug rehab program. It is the staff however that makes this program work. They go to any effort to provide such a high level of care.

Additional Care in Drug Rehab

Extended Drug Rehab Take Place at the StudioTreatment at Cirque Lodge consists of a 30-day program. For some individuals, this isn’t enough time spent in alcohol or drug rehab. Additional care is needed in the form of further addiction treatment programs. The Studio facility of Cirque Lodge has more beds, and is home to our extended care residents. Extended care is for residents who have successfully completed their first 30-days, and require additional care and treatment programs.

The approach to extended drug rehab is a step forward, as opposed to a step back. We go beyond just rehashing the 30-day program. The residents of Cirque Lodge continue to work with their personal counselor, as well as incorporate additional recovery programs. Residents in extended care have the opportunity to attend outside 12-step meetings in the evenings. They also have a chance to work with a sponsor in part with this meeting attendance.

Here at Cirque Lodge, we are a 12-step program. The first 30-days allow us to work with residents on the initial steps of this program. Residents in extended drug rehab have a chance to further the program by beginning work on their 4th and 5th steps. To many, these steps can be difficult ones. The safety of the addiction treatment facility is here to help residents make those positive steps towards recovery. All along the while, experiential activities are used to continually provide needed spiritual experiences to ease the difficulties of recovery.

Experiential Program in Alcohol and Drug Treatment

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

A Therapeutic Mountain HikeThe drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge is an effective balance of therapies. A part of this balance is our experiential program. When the Lodge was originally developed, the idea was to use the mountain and nature as a part of the healing process. A few years later, the Studio became a second addiction treatment facility. This huge building provided additional indoor and outdoor venues for experiential activities. Now, experiential activities are a daily part of alcohol and drug treatment. These activities help to assist in the therapy portion of treatment, and enhance the healing and recovery process.

Experiential activities range in the type and purpose. They can be a simple nature hike, where clients can go off alone for a bit and think about things. They can be profound, like the therapeutic connection found with a horse in an equine activity. Some are meant to help with the 12-step program, by establishing a connection with a higher power. Others are meant to teach things like recovery skills, coping strategies, or invaluable lessons on the nature of alcohol and drug addiction.

These venues and activities help to make alcohol and drug treatment more fun, more enticing. Alcoholics and drug addicts can be looking for anyway to get out of the darkness. These activities can help them find something that they can enjoy. If it is something they can envision themselves doing after leaving the addiction treatment facility, it is something that can help them continue on the path to lasting sobriety. Experiential therapy activities can be a release for residents who are dealing with issues and addiction problems as well. After a particularly difficult therapy session, it can be therapeutic to get away from the facility and relax for a bit in the quiet of nature.

Nature and the Mountains in Drug Rehab

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Waterfall Near The Cirque LodgeNature and the mountains play such a large part in the Cirque Lodge alcohol and drug rehab program. A different kind of healing is discovered by taking our residents out of the therapy room and placing them in the natural setting of the outdoors. It helps them to find those needed connections for recovery, most importantly, that connection to a power greater than one’s own. Cirque Lodge is a spiritual recovery program. The relations of nature and the spiritual healing of the mountains have helped many individuals find a means to overcoming alcohol or drug addiction.

The outdoor elements are enjoyed through activity. No matter the time of year, our clients can find the healing that comes from nature. Even in the wintertime, drug rehab clients strap on some snowshoes and go for a nice nature walk. This environment is used for a number of things. Sometimes clients are just asked to meditate, while other times the experiential counselor will teach them a concept of the 12-step program. The beauties and wonders of the mountains can enhance the healing process.

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous talks about ‘vital spiritual experiences.’ Such experiences create an internal shift, and a change of personal convictions. At Cirque Lodge, we focus on providing such experiences with our alcohol and drug rehab program. Nature and the mountain can have a hand in this. Clients can discover for themselves these experiences personally. Whether it is off on their own, or sharing with a group, the wonders and experiences in nature can create this internal shift. Such a shift can be a means to overcoming the struggles of addiction.
