Balance to Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Mountain Trail Near Cirque LodgeAlcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is a unique balance of treatments, therapies and experiential learning activities. This balance provides all the effective measures of treatment, but also teaches coping strategies and recovery for body, mind and spirit. To benefit each client the addiction treatment program is personalized. We strive to meet the client’s needs by providing a program that is specific to their addiction problem. As a dual diagnosis facility, Cirque Lodge offers alcohol treatment and drug rehab to those with co-occurring mood disorders.

Treatment has to be dynamic. A standardized program may be effective for some, but may allow others to fall through the cracks. There are a bevy of programs at Cirque Lodge. In this way, the client can progress with the elements that work best for them. Some drug rehab clients may require more personal one-on-one therapy. Others might just like the healing they feel on an experiential activity. By offering a treatment day full of experiences, we can more effectively treat each individual for what they need to achieve recovery.

Blended into each treatment day is our experiential program. This recovery program uses a number of indoor and outdoor activities to enhance treatment. Clients in alcohol and drug rehab experience the mountains in a way they never have before. This can greatly build strength and hope for recovery. With all the treatment elements and options we provide, it is our emphasis on experiential work that really promotes the recovery process. It solidifies the other forms of therapy offered in our addiction treatment program.

Private Accommodations in Alcohol TreatmentFor individuals in need of a personal alcohol treatment program, Cirque Lodge offers a private and exclusive environment for treatment and recovery. One thing you will notice from the beginning is that our alcohol and drug rehab facilities are quite nice and offer a number of amenities. We go to great lengths to make our program as attractive as possible. Through this, clients can not worry about the little details and focus on the program itself. When in an alcohol rehab setting, people can be looking for anything to blame, but themselves. It is hard to blame the facility when it provides the very best in living conditions, dining and amenities.

The other thing you’ll notice with our facilities is privacy. We are nestled in the mountains of Utah. People in need of a drug or alcohol treatment program can get out of the rat race and into the privacy and the serenity of our mountain setting. Our alcohol and drug rehab facilities are free from outside influences, both are privately located. Our clients can feel at ease within the program, knowing they will not be bothered. Alcohol treatment is an anonymous program. Recovery and 12-step meetings are also anonymous. We take this approach at Cirque Lodge. All treatment is carried out with our client’s personal privacy in mind.

Making Steps Through The Recovery Process

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Recovery Begins in Alcohol and Drug RehabRecovery is a process. It isn’t always easy. It means giving up the drugs and alcohol that at one point was in complete control of that individual. For a lot of people it takes steps to obtain a successful recovery. These steps are diagrammed within the 12-step program developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. For most people the process of recovery begins with either alcohol rehab or drug rehab. In a rehab setting, the individual begins this process and is introduced to the 12-steps. Additionally therapies are used to supply treatment for the problems that come with alcohol or drug addiction.

Cirque Lodge is founded on the 12-step program. Treatment is based upon supplying a 12-step recovery process. Alcohol and drug rehab isn’t nearly long enough to obtain recovery. Most people are in rehab for just a couple of months. Our focus is to provide a solid foundation of the initial steps of the 12-step process. Afterwards, additional programs are offered like AA or NA meetings for continuing the steps to a successful recovery.

The initial steps of recovery are the most critical. It involves finding a connection with a power greater than one’s own, and turning over problems of addiction to that power. At Cirque Lodge, surrounded by the mountains, a powerful connection can be made. This connection to a higher power is needed for the critical times of recovery, when faced with the struggles in addiction. It is a connection that can greatly ease the pains and burdens the make themselves known throughout recovery.

Intervention, Path to Drug Rehab

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Planning an InterventionIt is a fear some of us have. That the next time our loved one gets strung out on drugs or alcohol, they will use too much, and it will be their last. We’ve tried to help them, only to be met with resistance. Many of us just don’t know how to get them that help. For a lot of people, an intervention is the path to alcohol and drug rehab. Staging an intervention can provide the motivation needed to get that individual into addiction treatment.

How does one go about an intervention when they have no experience? Professional intervention services are available. A professional interventionist has experience. They have dealt with a number of individuals and the varying erratic behaviors that occur when alcohol or drug addiction is challenged. They can provide effective communication and motivation to get the addict/alcoholic into an addiction treatment program. Interventionists also work with a number of drug rehab facilities, and usually will offer insight on which programs can provide a better treatment experience.

Cirque Lodge works with a number of the leading interventionists in the United States. If you need help getting your loved one into treatment, our admissions department can help you find proper intervention services. Many intervention services provide monitoring during the drug rehab process. The family stays informed during rehab on the progress of their loved one. Cirque Lodge is a leading alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility. Following an intervention, a place like Cirque Lodge can be a means to saving the life of those addicted to drugs or alcohol.

An Equine Program in Drug Rehab

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Working With a Horse at Cirque LodgeOne of the powerful pieces we use at our drug rehab facility is our equine program. Working with a horse is profoundly effective. As a part of experiential therapy, the equine program consists of the alcohol or drug rehab client working with a horse through a number of tasks. Horses are an animal of flight and may not immediately respond to the commands of the client. The process is to get the client to learn the effective ways to connect with the horse. Our horse experts are also there to help them and guide them. The purpose though, is to get the individual to help themselves throughout the activity.

A change occurs in the process of working with a horse. The client in the beginning can be very frustrated. They can not control the bigger, stronger horse. They must see the importance of gaining the horses trust. In the beginning the horse can be very resilient, because they do not understand the individual attempting to impose their will. As a connection is made, the horse becomes very trusting. It is more willing to submit to commands of the client. A bond is made. The horse at one point needed a lead rope to follow instructions. By the end of the process, the horse is just following the client around, unguided.

Experiential therapy is an integral element to the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program. Working with horses is just one aspect to our ever growing experiential element. Experiential activities teach important recovery lessons. The equine program teaches the importance of asking for help with problems that can not be controlled. The connection with the horse also provides a spiritual experience that can create an internal shift away from the impulses of addiction.

Alcohol Rehab with a Family Element

Family Week is an Effective Part of Alcohol RehabAlcoholism affects more than just the person drinking. It can present difficult problems for the family as well. When the person goes through an alcohol or drug rehab program, how does the family find help and support? At Cirque Lodge, a family element is a part of alcohol rehab. It is a place where the alcoholic and their family can find healing for the problem. Family Week at Cirque Lodge is a profoundly effective piece. It can tear down the barriers that were built up by the alcohol addiction, and open the lines of communication and love.

The family can have a lot of misconceptions about their loved one. Similarly the loved can be at odds with their family. After all, a lot of the time it is the family that puts them into alcohol rehab in the first place. Personal and systems therapy are provided as a part of Family Week. This is the environment for overcoming some of the issues and getting to heart of the matter. It is an honest environment where true feelings and emotions are displayed. It is a place where people can let go of the past and begin to heal.

Family Week also has a number of lectures and activities for family members to attend. Family members may not have the right concepts when it comes to addiction and the recovery process. A part of Family Week at Cirque Lodge is to educate family members on addiction, behavior, and the importance of support. The family can be such an integral part of the recovery process. When appropriately educated, they are better prepared for this role.

Fall Colors near Cirque LodgeAt Cirque Lodge, We provide every client a personal alcohol and drug rehab experience. This process is continued when a client is prepared to leave our addiction treatment facility. A continuing care plan is developed for each client prior to discharge. This plan consists of elements to help the client continue a sober lifestyle. It consists of additional therapy, 12-step meetings, and even a sober living environment for some. Like all other aspects of the Cirque Lodge program, the continuing care plan is personalized for the specific recovery needs of the client.

Recently, a new element to aftercare was developed for our drug rehab program. Cirque Lodge now has an Alumni Relations element. The purpose of alumni relations is to follow up and stay in touch with former clients, after they have left our addiction treatment facility. It is just to see how they are doing, or if they need help with attending meetings. Our goal is to provide help and support in anyway we can. One thing we look forward to is our alumni reunion. We love to see our growing number of alumni returning each year to serenity of the mountains, and alumni relations is a way to keep these individuals involved with the program.
