Meeting the Needs of the IndividualAddiction treatment is tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual. Each resident is unique and what they require from alcohol and drug rehab can vary. We use an extensive assessment to gain an understanding on the needs of the individual. The results of this assessment are used in the creation of a treatment plan for that individual. Residents are also assigned a personal counselor and case worker. These staff members monitor the progress of the resident. The counselor also works in a one-on-one setting with the resident and offers private counseling and therapy.

Our treatment staff meets together each day to discuss the progress of each resident. The resident’s treatment plan is continually adjusted to according to this progress. Each and every member of our clinical team is sensitive to the needs of the residents. It is a staff that is committed to providing the very highest levels of care. This is of course is done on an individualized basis to meet the needs of our clientele.

The culinary experience at Cirque Lodge is tailored to meet special dietary needs. Individuals with type II diabetes are prepared meals that are in accordance to their dietary guidelines. Proper nutrition can help with building a physical recovery. Through years of alcohol abuse, the body can be in pretty bad shape. Meeting dietary needs can rebuild the body with much needed nourishment.

Empathy and support is offered, for they have been in similar situations with addiction. These staff members are an example to those in rehab of the successes of long term sobriety.

Once successful recovery is achieved, the final element of the 12-steps is to share the message with fellow alcoholics and addicts. One such way to share this message is by working in recovery programs like alcohol and drug rehab. At Cirque Lodge, we continue to look for those in successful recovery to employ. Their example and passion for sobriety is influential to those who desire the same.

Someone struggling with alcoholism or drug addictions can find the support they need from the staff at Cirque Lodge, someone in recovery. Years down the road it may be the Cirque Lodge resident; who is working in a rehab setting to help others overcome their addictions.

Balance to Treatment

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Treatment Balanced with 12-StepsAlcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is an effective balance of clinical therapies, the 12-step program and experiential activities. Treatment is all based upon the needs of the individual. A rigorous assessment process is used to determine the best course for treatment. The program consists of personal, group and family therapies that are entirely based upon the personal needs of the client. Each resident is also provided their own addiction counselor who provides one-on-one therapy according to client need.

All treatment is based on the 12-step program developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Alcohol and drug rehab consists of programs to introduce the 12-steps to residents, as well as establish a solid foundation of the initial steps of recovery. When residents have been within the program for a time, evening 12-step meetings are attended and a sponsor is appointed. Upon completion of treatment, a plan is put into place to continue involvement in a 12-step fellowship and meetings. Such fellowships and meetings can be a needed crutch for support and staying sober.

A unique change to drug rehab comes in the form of our experiential program. This program uses indoor and outdoor activities as an element of traditional treatment. To overcome addiction, a person must make changes internally. A number of experiential activities teach lessons on recovery. They force the addict/alcoholic to use cognitive solutions other than the addictive mindset. Nature based activities are provided to help rebuild the human spirit. Such vital spiritual experiences can create a needed internal shift. The balance to treatment at Cirque Lodge can provide answers to those in need of alcohol or drug rehab to overcome their addictions.

Indoor Experiential Learning Activities

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Cirque Lodge Indoor Ropes CourseThe use of experiential learning activities is part of the difference in the Cirque Lodge approach to treating alcohol and drug addiction. This is the use of activities where the individual learns to accomplish tasks and develop coping strategies for recovery. At our Studio facility, a 17,000 sq. foot sound stage is used to host a number of these types of activities. They help to enhance the experiences of alcohol rehab and drug rehab. The exercise can help individuals discover who they are, as well as teach them needed lessons on addiction and coping.

The sound stage is home to our ropes course. It is made up of two large multi-storied tripods. Attached to these tripods is a number of climbing challenges and elements. This can help recovering alcoholics and addicts to tackle fears they have in their life, as well as learn lessons on asking for help. All the while, help and support is provided from an experienced staff and fellow Cirque Lodge residents. A number of different challenges are offered during alcohol rehab and drug rehab.

Not all the ropes course activities involve climbing high up in the air. A number of low ropes elements and team challenges are also used in our experiential program. These events present challenges that require the individual to escape their addictive mindset to complete the tasks. They teach skills in leadership and communication. They help individuals to see the importance in building and establishing trust. Overcoming alcohol or drug addiction can be extremely challenging without help. Our experiential program helps to make alcohol and drug rehab a fun and lasting experience.

Sleep in Drug Rehab

Accommodations to Help with SleepWhen people are addicted to drugs or alcohol, the body becomes dependent on them. They must have the addictive substance within the system at all times just to maintain a feeling of normalcy. When the drug or drink is not within the system, the body can experience withdrawal. Many times this comes in the form of anxiety. In alcohol and drug rehab, people who are new to the program can struggle to sleep, due to this anxiety.

At Cirque Lodge, we emphasize comfort and a homelike environment. Comfortable accommodations can ease some of the stress of addiction withdrawal. In those first few days of alcohol and drug rehab, it can be difficult to sleep. A number of amenities are provided for our residents to help them get some sleep. Each evening a closing group is provided to help residents meditate and relax. A sauna session or time in the Jacuzzi can provide relaxation. 24 hour care is available for those who just can’t get to sleep. Caring staff members are there around the clock to provide help and support.
