A Family Program for those in Drug Rehab

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Helping The Family Through AddictionThis week marks another family program here at Cirque Lodge. Our family program is an integral part to alcohol and drug rehab. Residents of our facilities are encouraged to invite family members to attend and be a part of this program. The family program consists of lectures, workshops, and therapies to help family members better understand the nature of the disease of addiction. This can clear up a number of misconceptions that can be had regarding their loved ones behaviors.

This education can help the family in supporting their loved one. It can help the family to avoid enabling and not give into codependent behaviors. After drug rehab is completed, the alcoholic/addict is once again faced with the problems of addiction. A family that is proactive and aware can provide needed help and support. During family week, lectures are provided on the need for aftercare. Family involvement in aftercare programs can be influential in helping the recovering alcoholic/addict in receiving needed support.

It can be difficult to trust a loved one when they have burned so many bridges in the past. A part of the family program is to begin to rebuild that trust. It can take time for wounds to heal and for trust to be established. Therapy sessions are used to rebuild lines of communication and start the recovery process within the family unit. After drug rehab is completed, the alcoholic/addict can continue to build trust with their family in recovery. These therapy sessions can initially be difficult, but in the long run can provide healing and allow for the rebuilding of trust.

Drug Rehab and Internal Change

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

In Need of an Internal ChangeThere are times when people come into a drug rehab setting, only to relapse shortly after they leave. It is all too common to blame the treatment and say it wasn’t effective. Regardless of the addiction treatment program, people have got to come into a drug rehab for the right reasons. Many times, people will just go through the motions of rehabilitation without any real desire to change their life. They do it to make their spouse happy, or to not lose their job. Internally, however they are not putting forth the effort to change. Those who suffer from addiction must have the desire get better and change. This can happen before or even during drug rehab, but the desire to change must be present for solid recovery. If not, relapse is very much a possibility.

At the Cirque Lodge, we focus on providing vital spiritual experiences for our residents. Such experiences can create that change needed internally. Nature plays a part in providing such experiences here. A part of addiction treatment is to get out on the mountain and to experience that healing change inside oneself. Such an internal shift can create a change in convictions and desires. It can be an influential change that leads to breakthroughs in drug rehab, as well as an influence in long term sobriety.

The disease of addiction is not something that goes away. Even individuals who have experienced an internal change can still have the impulse to relapse. One must work each day at their recovery to be successful. There is help and support along the way to assist in recovery. However, at the core must be that desire that came from an internal change.

Caring Alcohol Rehab Staff

Caring Alcohol Rehab StaffFor individuals in need of alcohol rehab, Cirque Lodge offers a caring treatment staff. Overcoming an addiction to alcohol can be difficult. For some, the most difficult thing they ever will have to endure. It is nice to know there are dedicated individuals willing to offer help and therapy throughout their stay. This can ease some of the burdens that come along with alcohol and drug rehab. From the directors of the facility, down to the cleaning staff, there is a commitment to offering the very best addiction treatment experience.

Residents in alcohol rehab are personally cared for on an individual level. They are provided their own counselor and case manager during their stay. Therapy sessions are provided on a one-on-one level from licensed professionals. Our treatment team meets together each day to discuss the progress of our clients. Each and every member of our treatment staff is well aware of what each client needs from a clinical standpoint.

There are a number of Cirque Lodge staff members who are in successful recovery. Working in the field of addiction treatment helps them to continue to strengthen their own sobriety. They also offer levels of empathy and care to those who are striving to overcome alcoholism. In completing the 12-step program, one must help other alcoholics in need. Working in an alcohol and drug rehab setting allows those in recovery to help fellow alcoholics find their own recovery experience. This element enhances the genuine treatment offered at the Cirque Lodge facility.

Extended Drug Rehab Treatment

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Extended Drug Rehab at the StudioAt times, extended drug rehab treatment is needed to treat those with severe cases of addiction. A one month long program isn’t long enough to receive the proper means of rehabilitation. At Cirque Lodge, extended care is available to drug rehab residents at our Studio facility. This can provide the time needed to properly rehabilitate from years of drug addiction and chemical dependency.

Extended care at Cirque Lodge is an active step to continued rehabilitation programs. Addiction treatment is personalized for each resident. In extended care, the program is progressed forward with additional treatments and social type of programs for those working at their recovery. Each resident works personally with an addiction counselor through out their stay. This counselor can make professional recommendations on whether additional time is needed within a treatment program.

12-step work moves forward in extended care. A 30-day treatment stay deals specifically with establishing the first 2-3 steps of recovery. In extended care, clients can begin working on their 4th and 5th steps. Also, a part of the extended program is enrollment and involvement in outside 12-step fellowships and working with a sponsor. Recovery is more achievable when the individual is truly ready to take the proper measures to stay sober. Sometimes a longer treatment stay is what is needed to prepare for such measures.

Detox Begins Alcohol Treatment

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Detox Begins Alcohol TreatmentTreatment for alcohol addiction usually begins with a period of detox. The body needs time to recover from the initial shock of no longer drinking. Medical detoxification is a part of alcohol treatment. Cirque Lodge does not offer detox services. We focus specifically on the treatments and therapies of alcohol and drug rehab. We are partnered with a local medical detoxification facility that focuses specifically on that service.

Detox is a two fold process. First is to grant the individual time away from drinking. This gives the body a chance to partially cleanse itself of alcohol and its harmful toxins in the body. The second purpose is to treat the individual medically for withdrawal. The shock of no longer drinking can have a very negative impact on the alcoholic. Withdrawal from alcohol can be quite severe, even life threatening. A medical detox facility can make a difference in life and death from alcohol withdrawal. They use treatments and medications to stabilize the body when withdrawal occurs. It is the first step to alcohol treatment.

The length of stay in detox depends on how long it takes for the body to stabilize. Individuals suffering from alcoholism usually require a longer time within the detox facility. When detox is a completed, a private vehicle from Cirque Lodge will transport the individual to our alcohol and drug rehab facility. Immediate enrollment in an alcohol treatment program is the best measure when detox for alcohol is completed.

Drug Rehab, Education for Recovery

Group Room for Drug Rehab Lectures

Most people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol have no idea what they are doing to themselves, how it is affecting their brain, or even notice the erratic changes in their behavior. Part of alcohol and drug rehab is to help individuals gain an understanding on the nature and the behaviors of addiction. At Cirque Lodge, part of the program is to provide an education to help the alcoholic/addict understand every facet of alcohol and drug addiction. A number of lectures and workshops are used to help residents gain such knowledge.

Throughout the addiction treatment stay, a number of lectures are offered that discuss the nature of addiction, the 12-step program, and enjoyable lectures on varying aspects of recovery. Cirque invites a number of visiting professionals to the facility that offers different educational lectures for our residents. This education can be a sobering truth on the devastating malady that is addiction. Workshops are also offered to help alcohol and drug rehab residents apply what is learned in lectures to their own personal lives. It is an education that can be used as a tool throughout the recovery process.

Learning and Growing with Horses

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Working With Horses In Drug RehabAn effective therapy is offered with the Cirque Lodge horses. Our equine experience is an influential and powerful element used in alcohol and drug rehab. People suffering from alcohol and drug addiction can be struggling with a number of things. The trial and learning experiences of our equine program can be valuable lessons about the individual and what they need for recovery. It also helps the alcoholic/addict to make connections with another living creature.

Cirque Lodge residents gain exactly what they need from the horses. The exercise is similar, but it seems that each resident takes what they stand in need of from the exercise. Alcohol and drug rehab residents must learn to let go of their addictive mindsets and work on gaining the trust of the horse. In the life of the addict/alcoholic, trust has been destroyed on many levels. This simple practice of building trust with another living being can help them to make positive adjustments in their own lives. A connection with the horse can be a standard for growing in recovery.

A Treatment Plan for Alcohol Rehab

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Treatment Plan for the IndividualFor each resident who comes to Cirque Lodge for alcohol rehab, a treatment plan of action is put into place to suit their needs. Individuals can have varying needs when it comes to addressing an addiction. Those struggling with an addiction to alcohol can have a number of problems and reasons behind their uncontrollable drinking. Upon admission into the Cirque Lodge program, clients are prescribed their own treatment plan, to be utilized during alcohol rehab and drug rehab.

Determining the varying needs of an alcoholic is done by a rigorous assessment process at Cirque Lodge. Upon admission, each client undergoes this assessment. It is a large battery of professional tests to help the treatment staff understand the situation with the individual. The results of these tests are used in prescribing a treatment plan to be utilized throughout the alcohol rehab stay. At the foundation of the treatment plan is supplying the right therapy needed to address the needs of the individual.

Residents are cared for on an individual basis at Cirque Lodge. Our treatment staff meets together each day to discuss progress of each and every resident. Primary counselors are assigned for residents to work with in a one-on-one basis. Alcohol rehab and the treatment plan are continually addressed and tailored to help the individual make the necessary steps for overcoming their addiction. Treating alcoholism and drug addiction is not an exact science. It requires different avenues of help and therapy. Alcohol rehab at Cirque Lodge is tailored with a treatment plan to help the individual on their personal level.

Drug Rehab, Homelike Atmosphere

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Homelike Atmosphere in Drug RehabA part of alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is our homelike atmosphere. We go to great lengths to help our residents feel comfortable within the addiction treatment facility. Alcohol and drug rehab has got to be enticing and attractive to individuals struggling with addiction. They can have many preconceived notions when it comes to rehab, not many positive ones. A comfortable homelike atmosphere can alleviate some of the misconceptions that alcoholics and addicts can have about drug rehab.

Our unique location is a part of this homelike atmosphere. The quiet, serenity of the mountains is an exceptional environment for an addiction treatment facility. Individuals can have reservations about entering an alcohol and drug rehab. However, when they come to the facility, experience the mountain and see how nice the facility is, these reservations can melt away. What waits is a highly effective treatment program consisting of effective therapies and experiential activities. As the individual undergoes alcohol and drug rehab, they always have a homelike atmosphere surrounding them to provide comfort.

After Drug Rehab, Support and Strength

Friday, May 1st, 2009

Serenity Prayer Closes a 12-step MeetingAfter rehab is completed, a 12-step fellowship can provide strength and support for the recovery process. Even though a person has completed alcohol and drug rehab, the influences and cravings of alcohol and drugs doesn’t go away. Back in the real world, the temptations to drink or use can be strong at times. Active enrollment in a 12-step fellowship can help individuals to stay focused on their daily goals of sobriety. This is most critical in the initial months of recovery. It takes time in sobriety to strengthen one’s resolve. 12-step fellowships and addiction sponsors can provide the support needed for the difficult times, when resolve is not so strong.

A part of aftercare at Cirque Lodge is to help individuals find 12-step fellowships in their own communities. A continuing care plan is prepared with many elements of treatment help following alcohol and drug rehab. At the foundation of the continuing care plan is an active enrollment in 12-step meetings. A fellowship will appoint a sponsor to help for the initial months of the recovery process. Involvement in 12-step meetings can keep the individual focused on sober goals and helps to maintain that all important connection to one’s higher power.
