Personal Therapies in Alcohol Rehab

Sometimes, the alcohol abuse is masking a more deeply rooted problem. The alcoholic is just self medicating away other issues with the booze. People can be suffering inside, and the numbness of drunkenness is the only way to suppress these things. This abuse leads to alcoholism and greatly increases the risks of death. A part of alcohol rehab at Cirque Lodge is to address the underlying things. Personal therapies are provided for those in alcohol treatment, as well as our drug rehab program.

Every resident of Cirque Lodge is treated on an individual and specific basis. We strive to get to the heart of the matter with personal therapies. People can be suffering from traumatic experiences in their lives. They can be grieving over losses they can not overcome without help. At Cirque Lodge, those in alcohol rehab can find that help for their underlying problems. Counselors and staff members are available 24/7 to provide support, love, empathy and care. The individual can discover ways to cope with the underlying things, while receiving proper treatment for their alcoholism problem.

The Cirque Lodge Helicopter

Cirque Lodge uses a little different of an approach to treating the disease of addiction. In addition to highly effective therapies and recovery efforts, we also provide our residents with a number of unique activities and venues to create a spiritual and internal change. Perhaps the most unique of these activities involves our helicopter. We strive to make the experiences of alcohol and drug rehab unique and memorable. The helicopter is something that sets us apart from others.

Residents in treatment for their addictions begin to work the 12-step program. When residents are working on their third step (Turning over their lives to a higher power), they have the opportunity to take a private flight off into the mountains. Cirque Lodge has an EC130 Eurocopter. It is a luxury flying machine and residents enjoy a safe and fun flying experience. Residents fly through the local mountains, see wildlife and experience the wonders of nature from a completely different vantage point.

The powerful element to these flights comes when the helicopter lands on a remote mountain peak. This peaceful spot is far from the stresses and struggles of the world. Residents are given time on the mountain to themselves. Some hike around, while others find a quiet spot to reflect and commune with their higher power. Many promises and commitments are made internally on this mountain top. It also provides those in alcohol and drug rehab a memorable experience to take with them throughout their recovery.

View From the Meditation Room

Sometimes it takes getting out of the situation to overcome the problems of alcoholism or drug addiction. At Cirque Lodge, we invite you to come to the mountains. The serenity of the mountains is an ideal place to come to terms with your life and develop the skills needed for sobriety. Alcohol and drug rehab is performed in a beautiful, private Lodge that provides the highest levels of luxury and comfort. The program itself is an effective balance of personalized therapies, the 12-step program and mountain based experiential learning activities. It is a program that is nationally recognized for its effectiveness.

The Lodge has the accommodations and feel of a world class mountain retreat. High levels of comfort can help to reduce the stresses that come from overcoming addiction. They also enhance the overall experience of alcohol and drug rehab. Cirque Lodge has both private and shared rooms, an exercise room, and even a Jacuzzi and sauna. These elements help to compliment a highly effective alcohol and drug treatment program; provided by the very best in a caring and loving treatment staff.

One of the unique venues at the Lodge is the Cirque meditation room. Residents in alcohol and drug rehab ascend a large and beautiful circular stairway to reach this room. The meditation room has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. This is a quiet place where residents can come and think on things for awhile. We feel that overcoming addiction requires an internal change. The meditation room is available for thoughts and reflection and communing with one’s higher power. We strive to make Cirque Lodge the very best experience. Such experiences can be an influential positive for the recovery process.

Building Support for Recovery

Support for the Recovery ProcessSome of the things we can not do alone, we can do together. For those who are struggling with an addiction, the help and support of others can be a vital crutch. For many, building a network of support begins in alcohol or drug rehab. At Cirque Lodge, we use a number of group therapies and group based experiential activities to help build support for the recovery process. During our family program, loved ones learn ways to build support within the home for their family member in recovery. People must always know that they are never alone in facing their addiction problems.

The initial months after alcohol or drug rehab is completed can be the most critical. At Cirque Lodge, we provide a Continuing Care Plan for our residents. This can consist of additional measures of support for the recovery process. For some, it may be a sober living environment for a few months. Also support can be found by continuing to work the steps of recovery. The Continuing Care Plan consists of involvement in 12-step fellowships and working with a sponsor. These elements of support can be integral to long term sobriety, and keeping the all important connection to one’s higher power.

Alumni of the Cirque Lodge are provided other ways to help them in building and receiving support. We have an aftercare meeting each week where local alumni can stay in touch with the facility and each other. Throughout the country we host Alumni Gatherings, and each year an Annual Reunion here in the mountains. These are ways for Alumni to keep the flame of recovery, and to continually receive support for a lasting sobriety.

Oxycodone Addiction and Drug Rehab

It seems each day that there is a new news story involving a pharmacy robbery. The assailant doesn’t want money, just all the drugs containing oxycodone. Some who are addicted to oxycodone don’t go to such criminal acts. They damage themselves physically in someway to get their fix of Percocet, Percodan, OxyContin, or their generic counterparts from a doctor. Prescription drug addiction is becoming a serious problem in society. These medications are meant to be a short term solution for the problem. Those who begin using them more extensively run a risk of developing an addiction to the drug. Robbing pharmacies, frequenting doctor’s offices to get your pills fix, this is no way to live.

Drug rehab can be a means to overcoming the problem. It is treatment that addresses drug abuse, addiction, and the underlying situations that led to drug abuse. At Cirque Lodge, we use a personalized addiction treatment program. We strive to treat individual for their problem with the right elements of programming and therapy. These treatments assist in arresting the disease of addiction. This is followed with proper means of support do build for a long term sobriety. The addict can come to grips with their problem, develop the skills needed to overcome the impulses to use oxycodone, and begin their process of recovery. With the significant increases in prescription drug and oxycodone overdoses and deaths, drug rehab can be a life saving measure.

Drug Rehab Care at Cirque Lodge

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Primary and Extended Care at Cirque LodgeAlcohol and drug rehab consists of 30-day programming. Primary care is the initial 30-day treatment experience. Alcohol and drug rehab is personalized for each resident, and treatment is an effective and unique balance of leading therapies and our experiential program. Cirque is a 12-step facility, and residents in primary care begin the process of working on the initial steps of recovery. Upon completion of primary care, a Continuing Care Plan (CCP) in prescribed for the recovery process. The CCP consists of additional elements of therapy, support and 12-step recovery to follow after the completion of rehab.

Some individuals may require a lengthier treatment time than a primary care stay. Primary counselors and our clinical director can make professional assessments on whether more time is needed in an alcohol and drug rehab setting. However, the decision to stay for additional care is left up to the resident and their family.

Cirque Lodge offers extended care at our Studio Facility. Extended care is a step forward through the recovery process. Residents continue to receive the highest levels of therapy and care, as they continue to progress on additional steps of the 12-step program. Extended care also introduces more of an involvement of the 12-step fellowship. Residents are allowed to attend outside 12-step meetings, and temporarily work with a local addiction sponsor. As with primary care, a Continuing Care Plan is prepared for those in extended care to continue to work at successful recovery.

Personal Therapy Session

In treating alcoholism or drug addiction you have to treat the individual. While people share the common malady of addiction, the personal side of the problem can have very different elements. People come from different walks of life, and have very different personalities. Also, individuals have very different struggles they are facing in their own lives that are fuels to the addiction fire. Cirque Lodge offers a personalized drug treatment for those struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. This is alcohol or drug rehab based upon individual need, with the right elements and forms of treatments and therapies.

Personalized drug treatment also focuses on one-on-one care of our clientele. Each resident works through a personalized drug treatment program according to their needs. They are treated by a primary counselor assigned specifically to them. Personal therapy sessions are provided residents to address the underlying issues that have a hand in addiction. These underlying things can be deeply personal. The resident may not feel comfortable sharing these things in group. One-on-one therapies with a licensed counselor are provided for residents. In this setting counsel, therapy and support are provided for the underlying things of addiction.

There isn’t a set way to treat the disease of addiction. At Cirque Lodge, we use a rigorous assessment to determine the needs of the resident. We then tailor alcohol and drug rehab to emphasize these needs with the proper forms of treatment and care. All along, our caring clinical staff is there 24/7 to provide all the right elements of therapy, love, care and support.

Going Fishing in Drug Rehab

Fly Fishing in Drug RehabExperiential activities are emphasized in the Cirque Lodge alcohol and drug rehab program. These activities do a number of things for those in recovery. They teach skills and strategies for the recovery process. They provide vital spiritual experiences that create an internal change. Some experiential activities are also used to show the joys of sober living. Cirque Lodge is located by the Provo River here in Utah. The Provo River is a famous destination for fly fishing, and some residents are given the opportunity to get in some fly fishing as an element of experiential therapy.

Fly fishing takes tremendous skill and concentration. It requires those in alcohol or drug rehab to think outside their mindset and work on their cognitive and physical skills. Fly fishing takes patience. This is something that must be developed for the recovery process. A member of our experiential team works with the resident as they fly fish, and makes it a growth and learning experience. It is an activity that the resident can take with them after they leave rehab. Fly fishing can become a productive activity that helps them to continue to work towards successful recovery.

Vital Spiritual Experiences in Addiction Treatment

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Vital Spiritual Experiences in Addiction TreatmentA focus of addiction treatment at Cirque Lodge is on providing vital spiritual experiences. As a 12-step based alcohol and drug rehab, we use the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous as a basis for our recovery program. The Big Book relates a story between an alcoholic and a doctor. The doctor in giving professional advice tells the alcoholic that the exception to overcoming alcoholism is through vital spiritual experiences. It creates a huge emotional displacement and rearrangement. The guiding forces of alcohol or drug addiction (ideas, emotions and attitudes) are replaced with new concepts. At Cirque Lodge, we feel these changes come from within.

To help our residents make these internal changes, we strive to provide them with a number of opportunities to have a personal and vital spiritual experience. Our addiction treatment program consists of a number of venues for this to occur. As each individual is unique, we try to give them different opportunities to achieve such an experience. For some it can come in group, or in 12-step meetings. Others may achieve these experiences by working closely with their primary counselor. The many venues of our experiential program can also be a source for making internal changes and having spiritual experiences.

We use the mountain as an element to addiction treatment at Cirque Lodge. These activities are more than just going on hikes, or going fishing. They are ways to connect to a higher power and to have vital spiritual experiences. There is a healing found in nature that can touch those struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. Mountain based activities give residents a chance to find for themselves this healing on a personal level. It can be a means for having vital spiritual experiences and making the needed significant internal changes.

Alcohol Rehab on the Mountain

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Using the Mountain in Alcohol RehabA lot of treatment elements go into alcohol rehab at Cirque Lodge. Treatment is personalized to help meet individual needs. The 12-step program is introduced to help them through the recovery process. Intensive therapies are used to address the underlying problems of addiction. The difference of the Cirque Lodge alcohol rehab or drug rehab program is the use of experiential activities. The activities teach problem solving skills and coping strategies. They give the resident many chances at discovering a vital spiritual experience while in rehab.

The mountains of Utah surround Cirque Lodge. These mountains serve as a venue for a number of experiential activities. Residents go hiking, mountain biking, river rafting and even take private helicopter flights to remote mountain locations. When the weather changes and the mountains are covered in snow, activities like snowshoeing are used. There is a healing found in the mountains that just can not be described. Residents are given the chance to go off to a quiet spot on the mountain. They can meditate and make life changing decisions for themselves. It is a different approach, but an effective element to drug and alcohol rehab.
