Facilities, Treatment, Recovery

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

At Cirque, we strive to make all elements of our facilities as nice as they can be. Alcoholics and drug addicts can have a lot of misconceptions when it comes to “rehab” in general. With the accommodations, amenities and food, many of these misconceptions are stripped away. Those entering into alcohol or drug rehab can be scared of the unknown; some enter treatment kicking and screaming. But most of the times, when they get here and experience the nice things, the kindness of the staff, they can begin to feel more comfortable in the surround. This comfort can lead to becoming more involved in the recovery experience, and also making life changing decisions.

At the Cirque Lodge, we strive to make the rehabilitation program as effective as it can be. Even though we are a private and luxury style facility, the treatment is still rigorous and professional. Each resident undertakes their own personalized treatment experience. Residents are provided a battery of therapies and treatment elements. All of this is balanced with the healing and effective forms of experiential work that we offer residents. Our clinical team is made up of licensed professionals, who are dedicated to providing the utmost in care, support and therapy for residents.

We also strive to provide the tools and skills needed for long term recovery. We are founded on the 12-step program. We strive to help each individual in making connections to their higher power. With this come spiritual changes that are a powerful piece to recovery.  Programs and activities are provided to teach the recovering alcoholic/addict how to have in their sobriety. The facilities, treatment and experiences can help you or your loved one overcome the struggles of chemical dependency.

Family Help and Treatment in Drug Rehab

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Every three weeks is designated for family work at Cirque Lodge. The alcoholic/addict is not the only one within the home who is struggling. The behavior of addiction can have negative influences on spouses, family and even children. The family program allows residents of Cirque Lodge to invite family to participate in recovery elements with them. Each day provides different programs groups, and even meals from our culinary staff. The family better understands their role and influence in the recovery process.

Therapies and groups help family members to better understand their loved ones condition. Lectures and workshops provide an education on nature of the disease of addiction. Other workshops address the family system and the influence of codependent relationships and addiction, and also the strength and support that comes from an involved aftercare program and long term sobriety efforts. A lot of times the family is unaware of the issues of addiction beyond the uncontrolled use of drugs and alcohol. This education and therapy can help to properly begin them on an effective path of recovery as a family unit.

Cirque Lodge wouldn’t be what it is without the use of experiential activities. They play a foundational part of our recovery program. During Family Week is no exception. The family has opportunities to learn from challenging ropes exercises, going for a river walk, and even experience the thrill of our giant swing. Members of our experiential team provide a safe and educational experience with these activities. Family members can gain some insight to the strength and lessons of our experiential piece of recovery.

Cirque Addiction Treatment Counselor

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Upon admission into the Cirque Lodge addiction treatment program, each resident is assigned a counselor. Cirque counselors are licensed and certified for the highest elements of addiction therapy. They work with residents in different programs, workshops and lectures. Most importantly, counselors work with each individual resident in a one-on-one personal setting. Not all struggles and addiction related problems are meant to be shared in group. Personal one-on-one sessions are an ideal environment for discussing and dealing with the underlying conditions of addiction.

Counselors make up just a part of a very dedicated addiction treatment staff here at Cirque Lodge. Our staff meets together throughout each day to discuss residents, and how to better improve the experience for each individual resident. The addiction treatment counselor is oftentimes an integral piece to the more intensive elements of therapy. They work with residents during family week, and provide needed counsel to the family for the recovery process. We always strive to find the most dedicated and devoted individuals as our primary counselors. Their commitment to care reflects our commitment to providing the very best from an alcohol or drug recovery center.

Holiday Gift of Recovery

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

For some families, perhaps the gift of recovery is the best thing to give this holiday season. No one deserves to live a life struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. Many times with an addiction, their behavior will become out of control and they become a danger to themselves. Time in an alcohol rehab or drug rehab facility can provide answers for these problems. This time of family togetherness and holiday season can be used for expressing concern and getting a loved one the proper rehabilitation care they stand in need of.

The Cirque Lodge is here to help. We are a private and exclusive addiction treatment facility in Sundance Utah. We are dedicated to providing the very best in a recovery experience, while maintaining the highest levels in privacy, dignity and care for clients. The Cirque Lodge program is unique. We provide a balance of traditional forms of care and therapy. We combine that with educational and powerful experiential activities that provide spiritual recovery.

If someone you love is struggling, they are drinking too much too often, or they can not stop their drug use, time in alcohol or drug rehab can be a life saving measure. During the holidays, show you care by expressing concern and getting your loved one the treatment they need for their addiction struggle. It begins with a call to Cirque Lodge. We want to help you in every way we can to get your loved one enrolled into a recovery program.

Time in the Snow

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

This time of year, the mountains surrounding Cirque Lodge are pretty covered in the deep snow of winter. Residents in alcohol and drug rehab can still have chances to get our and do some snow shoeing, hiking and on the good days the Cirque Lodge helicopter will still fly residents to private mountain peaks. Our experiential team even will spend hours digging out the fire pit from several feet of snow for our special recovery bonfires we provide on occasion.

The purpose of all these elements, in summer heat and winter snow, is to give individuals who are struggling with addiction a chance for change. At Cirque, we feel this change has got to come from within, and we feel it comes about through vital spiritual experiences. Our experiential team has created a program that is just so dynamic and effective. It does more than provide unique ways for exercise. It teaches skills for recovery and provides individuals an abundance of opportunities to experience internal changes.

This time of year as the snow begins to accumulate, some may complain about cars getting stuck, or how much snow they have to shovel. For the individual in alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge, the time in the snow can be seen as the moment in their life they left their addictions and problems behind, and found the joys of recovery.

Starting Physical Recovery in Addiction Treatment

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Yoga and other elements of exercise are offered to individuals in addiction treatment at Cirque Lodge.  In addition to traditional rehabilitation efforts and our experiential program, exercise helps with physical recovery and is an excellent recovery strategy. Yoga is a healthy practice of balancing body, mind and spirit. This balance can be a positive for the recovery process. Exercise can replace the cravings brought on by the addiction with positive physical aspects that are healthy.

Time is set aside each day for residents to participate in physical recovery. Residents can work with a personal trainer, or get a work out in our exercise facilities. Experiential work is a foundational part of Cirque’s addiction treatment program and also provides needed physical recovery. During the week, residents can participate in yoga classes as well. Staying active with exercise can be a powerful relapse prevention tool.

Alcohol and drug addiction can be quite damaging to an individuals physical well being. A lot of individuals enter rehab in pretty bad shape, in body, mind and spirit.  Yoga, exercise and experiential work help on many fronts. It brings a balance to the individual. It provides physical fitness and helps in building wellness. It provides a tool for the recovery process. Addiction treatment is a balance of a lot of things. Our hope is that it prepares individuals for a long term and successful recovery.

Different Group Programs in Drug Rehab

Monday, December 21st, 2009

A part of alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is our use of different types of groups. Groups help in building support for the recovery process. After the alcoholic/addict leaves the rehab facility, outpatient and recovery groups are a foundational element to maintaining sober goals. They can begin these practices as a daily part of treatment at Cirque Lodge. Different groups are used to educate and build support. A licensed primary counselor takes the lead in orchestrating the group and covering a number of topics and focuses. Fellow residents can work with each other and support one another as they develop and learn new concepts.

Cirque’s experiential program provides unique group activities for residents. Those in alcohol and drug rehab can grow in strength and build support through these activities. The group is faced with different challenges and only by working together can the challenge be overcome. The lessons of these exercises teach new ways in dealing with addiction problems, and also teaching the concept of asking for help.

After residents have been in rehab for a time, they are encouraged to take part in 12-step meetings and working with sponsors. These elements help in preparing for the recovery process. A lot of times, after rehab is completed, 12-step groups and a sponsor are often the only means one has of relapse prevention. This practice begins within the safe environment of Cirque Lodge. After a treatment stay is completed, the support and help of such groups can be integral in maintaining a sober focus.

The Cirque, Recovery and Steps

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Cirque Lodge uses the 12-step program as a foundation to recovery.  When individuals come to us for alcohol or drug rehab, they begin the process of working the steps on their own. Lectures, workshops and activities are used to teach these concepts and help in creating spiritual and internal changes. After residents have been in treatment for a time, they begin to take part in outside 12-step meetings and even in working with a sponsor. These are helps that are available in virtually every community and can be an imperative form of relapse prevention.

It may not seem like this for all who go through a rehab program, but time in treatment is relatively short. It isn’t a lot of time in working the steps of recovery. After alcohol or drug rehab is completed, it is the programs like AA or NA that continues the recovery efforts along with the individual. During treatment at Cirque, the emphasis is placed on a solid foundation of the initial steps of recovery.

Clients are given a Continuing Care Plan to assist them in the recovery process, the most important piece of this for many is continues involvement in a 12-step recovery effort. Through this program one can build the strength and momentum needed for long term sobriety. They can also find the strength that comes from extending out with this program through serving and helping others.

A Program for Alcohol Problems

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

This is the time of year when alcohol problems can rear their ugly head. Parties and celebrations can turn into excuses for drinking too much for those with alcohol problems. Perhaps these times should be seen as a cry for help; that an individual may be beyond their realm of control when it comes to alcohol. Usually, it is up to loved ones and those who care to get those with alcohol problems into appropriate recovery programs. When there is an alcohol problem, and it is frequent and uncontrollable, alcohol rehab can become a life saving measure.

The alcohol rehab program at Cirque Lodge is provided in a private, comfortable and caring environment. Time here in the mountains of Utah can begin a successful and long term sobriety. The program is a little different here.  We do use traditional 12-step elements and the most effective forms of cognitive and behavioral therapies. Incorporated into all of this however, are fun and engaging experiential activities. A hands on method of teaching recovery provides a positive foundation for working a program and having life changing experiences.
