Drug Rehab with Comfort and Luxury

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

A part of the Cirque Lodge experience is the comfort and the luxury. The facilities at Cirque Lodge are quite nice. They provide residents with all the things they need for recovery, body mind and spirit, but it is done in a comfortable and classy setting.  Coming to terms with alcoholism or drug addiction is hard enough. Nice facilities, relaxing amenities and delicious food can help take the edge off the more intensive parts of addiction recovery.

Cirque accommodations are comfortable. The beds have down duvets and an effort is made in helping residents get proper sleep. We feel a good night’s sleep is a critical piece to staying focused on the drug rehab program and recovery. Both facilities offer private and shared accommodations. We understand some individuals will need the highest levels of privacy. These rooms are available upon request. Prior to bed time, relaxation and meditation are used to help bring a calming end to the day.

Residents are provided three meals each day during their stay. Cirque employs experienced chefs who prepare these meals.  The foods reflect that of a world-class facility, and they provide the recovering alcoholic/addict with needed nutritional balance. Occasionally people can be looking for an out. They want to blame problems on anything other than the matter at hand, alcoholism and drug addiction.  Nice facilities, delicious food, and comfortable accommodations help to bring the focus on where it needs to be. The resident can immerse themselves within the drug rehab program and discover the skills for recovery.

Horses and Lessons on Recovery

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Cirque Lodge uses different elements of experiential programming to teach lessons for the recovery process. Those in alcohol rehab can learn things from these unique and different areas of recovery they have never encountered before. One unique piece is working with horses. Now, in the winter months, the horses come into our indoor arena and stalls for this unique experiential work. Our residents are given opportunities during their stay to work with the horses as a part of the more traditional elements of addiction treatment.

Getting a bridle on a horse and leading them through exercises is far easier said than done. Horses are creatures of flight naturally, and this can be a great challenge to the alcoholic/addict.  The individual must gain the trust of horse. This process can provide therapeutic answers to one’s life; a realization that it is okay to ask for help with things beyond one’s control.  In the beginning, the alcoholic/addict can feel frustrated by the actions of the horse. When the connection is made and trust is established, this is greatly changed. The horse is no longer as flighty. They are very trusting and willing to obey commands.

It seems residents gain exactly what they need of from the equine exercise. People can be suffering in different ways. They can be looking for completely different answers. Working with the horses can help them in finding these answers. Members of our experiential team are there every step of the way to help with the exercise, and to provide these needed lessons with love, care and support.  You would never think that lessons on alcohol or drug addiction could be discovered through an animal like a horse. The horses at Cirque Lodge have helped many with lessons on recovery they have been searching for.

Diagnosis and Drug Rehab

Monday, December 14th, 2009

A lot of inpatient treatment centers have changed their rehab programs to address the problems of psychiatric disorders. A lot of those who suffer from alcoholism or drug addiction can also be diagnosed for have a co-occurring psychiatric condition, like depression or anxiety disorders. Cirque Lodge is what you call a dual diagnosis facility. We are committed to providing the finest levels of alcohol and drug rehab. However, we also offer a personalized program for individuals struggling with these disorders in addition to their addiction problems.

An effective assessment process and inventories are taken in determining individual needs at Cirque Lodge. Each resident meets regularly with our psychiatric professional in addressing elements of dual diagnosis. Throughout a clients stay at Cirque Lodge, treatment is continually tailored to help them with rehabilitation efforts and programs for a co-occurring problem.

Disorders like this and addiction go hand in hand. Sometimes, an addiction is developed as a result of complications with the disorder, or treatment medications. In other cases, individuals will turn to drinking or substances to address these behaviors and feelings they are struggling with. When diagnosed, these behaviors and feelings are the symptoms of a disorder. Recovery is needed for both conditions. At Cirque Lodge, we strive to provide just that with an effective and caring rehabilitation and recovery program.

After Leaving the Safety of Rehab

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Prior to leaving the Cirque Lodge, each resident makes preparations. These plans are different depending on the needs of the individual. Some may leave alcohol and drug rehab and promptly enroll into a longer term form of sober living, others may just go back home and begin to work on recovery in a different means. Each resident is prescribed a plan of action and forms of continuing care when they prepare to leave our facilities. Residents work with their primary counselor and with aftercare on creating a plan of action for when they leave the safety of rehab.

Cirque is founded on a 12-step recovery and central to each Continuing Care Plan is an active involvement of working the steps. This includes working with recovery groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and an addiction sponsor. Aftercare is constantly on the phone finding meetings and fellowships for alumni. These fellowships become the supportive recovery environment after alumni leave our facility. There are many different forms of additional outpatient programs, therapies and groups that are available to those in recovery. A Continuing Care Plan provides the graduates of the Cirque Lodge program with the recovery elements they need.

Prescription Drug Treatment Program

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Prescription drugs for the right reasons can be a life saving measure.  The wrong reasons can lead to struggles with abuse and chemical dependency. The rate of individuals becoming addicted to their prescription medications is growing at an alarming rate. At Cirque Lodge, we have seen this increase in the individuals we treat with a caring drug rehab program. Even though they are prescribed by a professional, some drugs have narcotic affects on the central nervous system. Over time, these affects become the reason the pill is taken, opposed to the reason they were prescribed for.

Drug treatment is personalized at Cirque Lodge. We use a rigorous battery of tests and assessments to determine individual needs. We then tailor a program to meet these needs with the proper forms of care.  The dynamic of those we treat is varying. With prescription drug abuse, this dynamic is even broader. By tailoring the program, proper forms of drug rehab and care are implemented according to individual need, from professionals with experience and expertise. Cirque Lodge uses a unique balance of individual care, supportive group and family programs, and a daily balance of experiential learning exercises.

A controlled environment is ideal for getting off the prescriptions.  Within this safe haven, one can develop the skills and mindset needed for sobriety; while receiving proper forms of clinical therapy, and support programs. Not that many will face a struggle with an addiction to prescription drugs in their life. However, for those who do and will, a caring treatment program is available at the Cirque Lodge in Sundance Utah.

Educating and Treating the Family in Drug Rehab

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

The Healing of Family WeekWe have started another family week here at the Cirque Lodge. Family Week is when residents being treated in drug rehab are encouraged to invite family members for a four day long treatment program. Family is an influencing factor on addiction and on recovery. Their action and behaviors can have both positive and negative influences on the alcoholic/addict.  Cirque Lodge uses Family Week to better educate family members on the nature of addiction and how to properly support their loved one as they undertake the recovery process.

Each day provides a different lecture, workshop or recovery activity for families to take part in. These elements better teach family members on the factors that influence addiction within the home; things like enabling behavior and codependency. A workshop and lecture are given on the disease concept of addiction and how it influences the central nervous system.  Family Week also provides family members with opportunities to be involved with our experiential program.  Each day provides some fun learning exercises, a scenic nature hike, and even the thrill of some High Ropes elements. These things can help create a better understanding on the makeup of addiction, as well as provide lessons for the recovery process.

Family Week also provides a platform for family members to have open and honest communication.  Some have been hurt by the behaviors of their loved one during times of drugs and drinking. These can be a negative.  Family process groups and counseling sessions are a part of each Family Week. It can be a platform for healing and a foundation for rebuilding the trust that was destroyed through addictive behavior.  This piece to the family program is not always the easiest, or most welcome. However, in the long run, this therapy can be a foundation for moving forward as a family unit in recovery.

The Snow and Experiential Activities

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

The Cirque Lodge has seen its first big snow of the year.  This snow kind of changes the elements of our experiential program. At Cirque, experiential activities (Used for instruction, enjoyment and skill building) are an integral, effective and unique part to the more traditional forms of alcohol or drug rehab. We use our mountain location, the river and nature as venues for a number of therapeutic activities. Well, when it snows a lot of these activities change.  Nature hikes, and outdoor activities are now performed with snow shoes. Usually on the snowy days the experiential program turns to the indoors for ropes activities and working with horses in the indoor arena.

Experiential work is a highly effective difference to alcohol and drug rehab at the Cirque. In addition to a personalized program, experiential work teaches needed lessons on recovery, and methodologies to challenge the mindsets and behaviors of alcoholism or drug addiction.  These activities are challenging, but also fun and engaging. Some require individuals to work as a team, and also in developing skills in asking for help with things beyond our control; something that alcoholics and addicts can struggle with.

Experiential activities also provide individuals with healing and spiritual recovery.  The Cirque Lodge is founded on the 12-step program, and the 12-steps are geared to help individuals with a recovery of body, mind and spirit. Individuals who struggle with substance abuse can be at low ebb spiritually. Nature, the mountain (even in the snow), and support are used in helping the alcoholic/addict with this type of recovery.  Vital spiritual experiences are a life changing solution to the struggle. The ruling forces of addiction begin to be replaced by the new healthy concepts of sobriety. Even though the snow is falling, the life changing impact of Cirque’s experiential program continues to help individuals in finding positive solutions for their addictions.

Helping with the Recovery Process

Friday, December 4th, 2009

For some, finding a lasting recovery is a process. With the struggles that come from addiction and substance abuse, relapse can be a common occurrence. At Cirque, we provide things to help our residents when they leave alcohol and drug rehab. Certain privileges and helps are in place for those who have successfully completed the program as they embark on their own recovery.  Every third week is dedicated to family programming, and alumni are invited to come and be a part of the lectures, workshops, and other family elements. At the Studio Facility, aftercare holds a weekly recovery meeting for the alumni who remain local to. Cirque Lodge also provides that unique guesting privilege for residents to return and receive needed treatment for staying sober.

Prior to leaving the facility, each resident is prescribed a Continuing Care Plan.  This plan is central to a successful recovery.  It continues the efforts of drug rehab and recovery through outpatient types of programs. Central to all of this are the 12-steps.  Cirque Lodge is an effective recovery program. It has helped many find lasting recovery. However, it is how they continue their recovery effort that is influential in supplying the joys and success. Many find that change of heart hear on the mountain.  Continuing on with the 12-steps is how they utilize this change of heart for a long term and successful recovery.

Addiction Treatment in a Private Setting

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Cirque Lodge offers addiction treatment in the most private of settings. The serenity and the privacy of the mountains just seem to be an ideal location for alcohol and drug rehab. Individuals can anonymously enroll and receive effective treatment and care for alcoholism and drug addiction problems. Resident confidentiality is at the forefront of our facility and treatment is personalized to supply this confidentiality. Both Lodge and Studio locations of the Cirque are on private property and free from outside influences.

A private setting provides a safe haven away from the struggles of the outside world. The individual can leave those things behind them and focus on getting well again and the addiction treatment program. For those in need of the very highest levels of privacy, Cirque offers personal accommodations. The 12th tradition of 12-step program emphasizes anonymity in all of recovery. We allow our clients to have an anonymous treatment stay and treat them as an individual in need of an addiction program.

Caring Drug Rehab Staff and Professionals

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

When you or a loved one is admitted into alcohol or drug rehab at Cirque Lodge, they are in good hands. The Cirque Lodge staff is made up of caring and dedicated professionals. They are individuals who have a focus on providing all the needed measures of love, treatment and support. Alcohol rehab and drug rehab is founded on a personalized treatment program. Staff members are assigned to work personally with each client in supplying therapy and providing help with the recovery process.

The Cirque Lodge clinical staff meets together every day to discuss the needs of residents.  Whether they are clinical or experiential, staff members are sensitive to individual needs and helpful in working with clients and recovery. Primary counselors are also available during the week for therapy and one-on-one sessions with clients. Recovery is a process, some days are better than others. Caring staff is always available to provide support or levels of treatment when needed.

It used to be that recovery programs were only operated by those who are in recovery. At Cirque, alcohol and drug rehab is administered by a balanced staff. Treatment professionals provide the very best in clinical therapies, but we also provide the care and empathy of individuals who are in successful recovery. We strive to provide each alcoholic/addict with a recovery program beneficial to their sobriety. This begins with a committed and caring drug rehab staff sensitive to individual needs.
