Exercise, Drug Rehab and Recovery

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Exercise is incorporated into the more traditional parts of alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge. This can help with the physical recovery from the damage caused by alcoholism or addiction. It can also be used as a mode of relapse prevention and recovery activity. Residents of the Lodge have their own private workout facilities. The Studio residents have a standing membership at a local fitness club. There is time designated each day for exercise that residents can elect to take part in.

After a stay in drug rehab, different tools, practices and skills can be utilized as methods of relapse prevention. Exercise or yoga can be such a tool. At Cirque Lodge, the positives of exercise and yoga are a part of the addiction treatment day. Residents can apply them to their life prior to leaving the safety of the treatment facility. Those in extended care can even take part in a wellness program that helps to improve their overall fitness through personal trainers. Cirque focuses on treatment for body, mind and spirit. The body finds recovery through the active efforts of our program.

Addiction Treatment Facilities and Programs to Meet Individual Needs

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

When an individual or family makes the decision to come to Cirque Lodge, there are two separate facilities to choose from. The Lodge, that is in Sundance and the Studio, which located a few minutes away in Orem. Both facilities provide the very same addiction treatment program and care, but there are a few differences to the facilities. The Lodge is limited enrollment and reserved for those individuals seeking the highest levels of privacy. The Studio offers high levels of privacy, but has a much larger enrollment and treatment community.

The Lodge is nestled in the mountains. It is located on a private drive in Sundance, and overlooks the ski resort. This facility has only 16 beds for clients and private rooms are available. The Studio is situated on 12 private acres in Orem Utah. It offers accommodations for a much larger community of men and women. We understand individuals can have different needs when it comes to accommodations, and this array of facilities and rooms can help to meet many varying needs.

Both facilities provide a personalized approach to addiction treatment. Clients work through an individualized program and with a personal counselor during their stay. While individuals have chemical dependency in common, their areas of vulnerability can be very distinct. A personalized program allows each client to come to terms with their disease in a capacity that best suits their needs. This is a program provided by a caring and dedicated number of treatment professionals. Both Lodge and Studio provide the utmost in a comfortable and private treatment stay.

Family Week at the Cirque Lodge Drug Rehab

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

An effective element to the alcohol and drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge is Family Week. The family program consists of treatment elements for the residents of the Lodge and Studio, and also their family members who attend. Each treatment day consists of different workshops, activities and therapies to address the struggles of addiction on a family level. Family Week occurs every three weeks of the alcohol and drug rehab program. This allows even residents with a short term treatment stay an opportunity to participate with their loved ones.

Different workshops are provided each day of the family program. A disease concept lecture provides family members a better understanding on the nature of addiction. This lecture provides a more medical look at the impact of alcoholism and drug addiction on the central nervous system. A Family systems lecture provides an in depth look at the enabling behaviors and codependency that can exist within the home. This lecture is followed by a process therapy to address these struggles. On the final day of Family Week, a workshop is provided that covers the importance of aftercare following treatment. These workshops better educate the family on their role in the recovery process.

Special family groups and therapy sessions are scheduled during this week as well. This provides family members with an environment for open and honest communication. It can give both the recovering addict/alcoholic and their family a venue for talking, thinking, feeling, and healing. Years of alcohol and drug abuse can build up barriers against communication like this. These sessions are directed by a licensed member of the Cirque Lodge treatment team, and can deal with some of the underlying struggles and problems in the home environment. For some, this may not be easy. In the long run, it can provide a foundation for a long term recovery process.
