Rehab for the Internal Struggles

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Sometimes the drinking and the drug abuse are masking a more deeply rooted issue. The abuse of these substances can provide a self medication for dealing with internal issues such as trauma or grief. However, they also provide a compounded struggle with chemical dependency and addiction. At Cirque Lodge, caring therapies are offered to help individuals with the struggles of traumatic experiences and dealing with grief. Support is also provided throughout to help individuals in rebuilding their lives through the recovery process.

Each resident of the Cirque is provided a treatment counselor for their stay in drug rehab. The counselor oversees the resident’s personalized treatment plan and provides personalized therapy for individual. This one-on-one environment is used to address the more personal areas of the struggle. This includes the struggles of traumatic experiences and dealing with grief or loss. Caring counselors provide support and help for these issues. Programming is tailored to help the individual with proper support and recovery programs for their struggles on all levels.

Overcoming these internal struggles can also be a process, just like recovery from addiction. Continuing with therapy and programming after rehab is oftentimes a positive step toward a long term solution. Prior to leaving Cirque Lodge, these options are discussed and prepared with a Continuing Care Plan. This can provide a long term solution and therapy for dealing with these internal struggles. This is coupled with programming for recovery and support for alcoholism or addiction. These treatment options can supply a positive solution for such problems without the use of addictive drugs or alcohol.

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

The process of getting a loved one into treatment can be easier said than done. The addict/alcoholic can have a stigma built up in their mind regarding their drinking and using. This can result in a lot of push back and resistance, especially when alcohol or drug rehab is the topic of conversation. The addicted individual can go to great extents to protect their habits. An intervention can the medium for getting that loved one into a treatment program.  There are resources for intervention, and one of the most effective resources, professional intervention services.

An interventionist provides experience. They have experience with many different situations in addressing alcoholism and drug addiction. The interventionist has also dealt with the many erratic behaviors and situations that can arise when the addiction is challenged. Interventions are usually carried out in a very caring and loving manner. Individuals are allowed to be honest in addressing their fears and struggles when it comes to their loved ones behaviors. A successful intervention also greatly increases the probability that the alcoholic/addict will agree to treatment.

Intervention services also can provide families and individuals with different recommendations on treatment centers. Many provide monitoring services while the loved one is in treatment, and some even still provide counseling and aftercare services when treatment is completed. The intervention service can provide a solid foundation for the recovery process.
