Residential Addiction Facility

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Cirque Lodge is a residential addiction facility. Clients stay on site and are personally treated by a multidisciplinary team of professionals. A residential facility gets the alcoholic/addict out their current situation and environment. They do not have to face the triggers and the influences that have led them to drink and to use. In a residential drug rehab, individuals are treated for their disease and develop the skills needed to maintain sobriety. Cirque Lodge clients are referred to as ‘residents’ and are individually treated with effective addiction therapies.

Cirque is a unique place because of its location. The mountains of Utah provide not only unique views of nature and privacy, but they are also a venue for a number of recovery activities. Residents have many chances to get out of the residential drug rehab facility and into the surround of nature. Different outdoor activities are utilized to provide lessons on recovery. Concepts of the 12-steps are taught at very beautiful and serene locations in the mountains.  It can be a place for the alcoholic/addict to make life changing decisions and to connect to their higher power.

The Cirque is also a comfortable place for individuals seeking drug rehab. A comfortable and homelike environment can be more conducive to recovery and addiction treatment. A nice bed can make is easier to sleep at night. Relaxation amenities can be influential in reducing stress and the struggle of withdrawal. Those in treatment are going through a very difficult process. These burdens are lessened by the facility offering many comforts along the way. This can keep the resident focused on getting well and making the proper steps to recovery.

Addiction Treatment at Lodge and Studio

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Cirque Lodge has two facilities for treating alcoholism and drug addiction. The Lodge itself is a private mountain retreat at Sundance Utah. The Studio is a 100,000 sq. ft. facility a short drive away. Multiple facilities allow the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program to treat a larger dynamic of those in need of addiction recovery. Both facilities offer the very same addiction treatment program, experiential activities and confidential treatment experience.

The Lodge is a limited enrollment drug rehab facility. It has the feel of a luxurious mountain retreat. The facility itself offers very comfortable accommodations and relaxation amenities. There are also a number of counseling offices and venues for different therapy programs. The Lodge is quite private and exclusive. It is oftentimes the destination for high profile clients who are seeking a confidential addiction treatment program. The Lodge is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and large windows allow clients to take in the serenity.

Due to the success of the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program, a second facility was incorporated to treat a greater number of patients. The Studio, in Orem Utah, gets its name from being a TV and movie studio many years ago. A renovation to the facility made it ideal as an addiction treatment center. The Studio offers treatment to a greater number of residents. It is the home to the administrative offices of Cirque Lodge and hosts many local 12-step programs. The unique aspect of the Studio is its massive size. It is the venue for a number of experiential activities, including an indoor ropes course, in and outdoor equine venues, and also the launching pad for the Cirque Lodge helicopter. Residents of the Studio are also provided very high levels of privacy, world class accommodations and the most effective approach to alcohol and drug addiction treatment.

The 12-steps and the Mountain

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Cirque Lodge is nestled in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains. This location provides beautiful views of nature and those in alcohol and drug rehab can take in this serenity. Treatment at the Cirque is founded upon the 12-step program. Mountain locations are used as venues for working these steps of recovery. It is a unique approach, one that has helped many find a connection to a power greater than their own. Such a connection can be an influential piece to maintaining sobriety and preventing relapse.

A number of different mountain based activities are offered as a part of alcohol or drug rehab at Cirque Lodge. Some of these activities are used to teach 12-step concepts, or as a venue for working the steps. The initial steps of recovery involve making connections to a higher power. The majestic mountains provide an ideal place for making such connections. Different river locations, rock formations, waterfalls and lakes provide the venues. These venues are accessed in very fun and engaging ways. Hiking, mountain biking, river rafting and even a private helicopter all play a part in this program and the 12-steps of recovery. Such activities can also be influential in restoring some of the joys of a sober lifestyle.

Cirque Lodge is just the beginning of the 12-steps. Drug rehab in the mountains lays the foundation for the individual to continue these steps on their own. Aftercare efforts are coordinated to help clients of the Cirque with a transition into their local 12-step communities after they leave our facility.  This is where most alcoholics and addicts find the means to successful sobriety. The alumni of the Cirque can also return here to the serenity of the mountains and rekindle their connections whenever it is needed.

Beginning Recovery with Detoxification

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Detoxification is usually the first step on the road to recovery. Proper detoxing can stabilize the individual and rid them of the toxins of drugs or alcohol. The need to detox depends on the amount of substance that is within the system. It is not uncommon for individuals to use a lot of their substance of choice prior to entering alcohol or drug rehab. The duration of the detoxification process can depend on how long it takes to stabilize the individual. Severe cases of chemical dependency can require a lengthier stay depending on the substance.

Medical detoxification treats for withdrawal problems. The initial shock of no longer having substances within the body can have adverse effects physically and emotionally. Part of stabilizing the individual is to treat them when they experience withdrawal. Withdrawal problems can vary from mild health issues to more severe psychological and physical problems. Detox facilities usually provide an around the clock monitoring of individuals to ensure they are properly treated for their withdrawal symptoms.  Once stabilized, the individual can be cleared and discharged from the facility and usually placed within the care of an addiction treatment program.

Cirque Lodge does not offer detoxification services at our facilities. We focus mainly on the clinical aspects of addiction treatment and drug rehab. We do work with a local medical detoxification facility. This facility is the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the University of Utah Hospital. A call to Cirque Lodge can provide you information on contacting them for detoxification services. The most effective measure is to follow detox with an inpatient alcohol or drug rehab program. Clients coming to the Cirque will be provided transportation to and from these facilities and to our drug rehab center when detoxification is completed.

Unique Drug Rehab Experiences at Cirque Lodge

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Cirque Lodge HelicopterUnique experiences are provided those who come to Cirque Lodge for alcohol treatment or drug rehab. These experiences are used within a balance of traditional and clinical approaches to rehabilitation. Perhaps the most unique of these experiences is the Cirque Lodge Helicopter. Cirque’s EC-130 Eurocopter is used to take those of our alcohol or drug rehab facilities on private tours of the local mountains. From this vantage point is a whole new experience. Residents can take in the foliage and wildlife from this airborne perspective.

The helicopter experience is reserved for those working on their 3rd step of recovery. This step involves turning one’s will over to a higher power. These mountain places are an environment for making such connections. The helicopter lands upon a remote mountain ridge. The residents are given a chance to go off alone and do some meditation. Many promises are left upon this mountain. They are promises of hope and of recovery.

Internal changes are needed to overcome the struggles of alcoholism or drug addiction. At the Cirque, we strive to provide experiences that can invoke such a change. That is one of the purposes of experiential activities like the Cirque Lodge helicopter; to provide vital spiritual experiences. At the Cirque, a number of unique indoor and outdoor challenges and experiences are used to provide opportunities for such a thing to occur. This internal change can help to do away with the ruling forces of seeking and using drugs and alcohol with new concepts of recovery.

Recovery Programs for Underlying Things

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Alcohol and drugs can be used to self-medicate away more deeply rooted problems. These substances can be used to dull the pain and the struggles for a time. The central nervous system can develop a tolerance to the substance however. More of it is needed to experience the high or numbing result. This can turn into a dangerous substance abuse that develop into addiction, or more seriously overdose and death. In a drug rehab setting, part of treatment is to address the deeply rooted problems with proper therapy and recovery programs.

Traumatic experiences, a grieving situation, struggles with relationships, and problems with employment can be influencing factors that lead to drug addiction and alcohol abuse. At Cirque Lodge, we provide a personalized program for each client. This involves one-on-one therapy time and treatment for the underlying struggles that can have a hand in addiction. Each resident works personally with their own treatment counselor during their drug rehab stay. With this care, the individual can find solutions for their struggles outside the realm of drugs and alcohol abuse.

Cirque offers a dual diagnosis treatment for clients during their stay. A common deeply rooted problem that many alcoholics and addicts deal with is co-occurring psychiatric or mood disorders. A part of drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is to properly diagnose and treat such disorders. This involves creating a recovery program that treats both conditions with care and therapy. Years of alcoholism or drug abuse can suppress such feelings and mood problems. An effective diagnosis and proper treatment for both the addiction and disorder can provide solutions and recovery for both.

Treatment for Prescription Drugs

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Cirque Lodge provides a caring and effective program for those struggling with prescription drug addiction. Usually, the culprits of this type of addiction are painkillers, like OxyContin, Percocet and Vicodin. However, painkillers are not the only drugs that are addictive. Individuals can become chemically dependent to sleep aids, antianxiety medications, and alike. Just like alcoholics and those who abuse illicit drugs, prescription drug problems can be life threatening and can require treatment to overcome. Time within a residential drug rehab program can be a life saving measure for those struggling with prescription drug abuse and addiction.

At the Cirque, treatment for prescription drugs begins with a personalized approach. No matter the type of prescription addiction, the individual is personally treated according to their needs. These needs are determined through a thorough and rigorous assessment process. Prior to admission, the individual has completed an assessment form that clarifies medical histories and their drugs of abuse. The assessment process helps to determine emotional and behavioral needs and vulnerabilities. The results of the assessment are studied and used in creating a drug rehab program for that individual. With professional treatment, the individual can develop the skills needed to arrest their disease and to rediscover the joys of life.

Comfort and Relaxation in a Drug Rehab Facility

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

The process of recovery is not an easy one. For some alcoholics and addicts it will be the most difficult thing they will endure. The time spent in alcohol or drug rehab can also be very challenging. Individuals are struggling with withdrawal and confronting very difficult internal issues. The Cirque Lodge facilities provide individuals with a number of comforts and amenities.  These comforts can help in reducing stress and providing a safe haven to relax. A massage or time in the sauna can be prescribe to help those of the Cirque facility to relax.

Caring staff members are always available to assist resident’s needs. Even in the middle of the night, when it is hard to sleep, a member of staff is available to talk and to listen to concerns. A number of staff is in successful recovery and can provide a caring support with an empathetic ear. The surround of support can be such an influential piece to long term sobriety. At the Cirque, residents are surrounded by this support.  It is found through treatment counselors, caring members of staff and also through fellow residents working on their recovery.

Family Week Program at Cirque Lodge

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

This week marks another Family Program at Cirque Lodge. Family members of those in alcohol and drug rehab are encouraged to join us here in the mountains and participate in these recovery workshops and activities. It really is an integral and effective piece to a supportive recovery for the family to be involved. Family Week provides a needed education on the nature of addiction and takes an in depth look at the family’s involvement within this process. A number of engaging lectures and activities are used to teach recovery concepts and the importance of a supportive role throughout.

A workshop and special therapy groups are utilized in taking a closer look at the family system. Negative behaviors can be enabling forces for the alcoholic/addict. Codependency in a relationship can be such a negative. The Family Program at Cirque Lodge gives all involved chances to take an in depth look at self. Special groups and therapy sessions give the family a chance to talk about these things in an open and honest environment. This can be the first chance that the family has to honestly discuss their hopes and fears for their loved ones in rehab. For some, this is where the healing process begins.

A Cirque Lodge program would not be complete without experiential activities and Family Week is no different.  Family members have the chance to participate in some experiential programming during their visit. These activities can involve both fun and challenging events, as well as a chance to get out and to experience nature. Family Week is a full four days of recovery programming. It can positively prepare family members for their role in their loved one’s recovery process.

Personalizing Alcohol and Drug Rehab

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Personalizing Alcohol and Drug RehabA lot goes into personalizing the alcohol and drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge. We strive to provide each individual with a program that is best suited for their needs. While each resident shares the common problem of substance abuse and addiction, they can have very distinct struggles. At the Cirque, a rigorous assessment process and counseling is used to determine individual needs. This is then tailored into a recovery program with an effective balance of individualized, group and even family therapies.

Personalizing alcohol or drug rehab also can involve meeting individual’s needs with the right amount of care. People are in a fight for their lives when they come to treatment. Some individuals can easily take to the program, while others can struggle initially. The treatment plan for the client is continually changing to assist with progress and to help in resolving any concerns. Personal therapy sessions are provided for residents. This provides a one-on-one platform for dealing with the internal struggles and underlying problems that can come with the behaviors of substance abuse.

When the treatment stay is near completion at Cirque Lodge, a plan of action is put into place for the recovery process.  This plan is also personalized according to the individual’s needs. The resident will work with their counselor and with aftercare in developing a plan with proper means of support and therapy. These efforts are coordinated prior to leaving alcohol or drug rehab to make the transition a seamless one. There is a broad array of outpatient recovery efforts. A personalized plan of action can be an integral piece to maintaining a successful and long term sobriety.
