Cirque Lodge counselors can be an influential piece to those dealing with addiction. Upon admission the client is assigned a counselor who works with the individual throughout their addiction treatment stay. Cirque’s counselors are unique in their own way. They have dedicated their lives to the care and healing of those struggling with alcoholism or addiction. Dual Diagnosis Care in Rehab

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Alcoholism and drug addiction can be a result of other mental health issues. These substances can be used to self-medicate away the problems that can be brought on by psychiatric disorders. Those dealing with mental health issues are much more likely to develop a chemical dependence to addictive substances. Many who come to rehab are diagnosed as having a co-occurring problem along with chemical dependence. Cirque Lodge offers dual diagnosis treatment for clients. An individualized program is provided to arrest the disease of addiction. This approach is also coupled with programming to help with co-occurring mood disorders.

Cirque Lodge is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Clients meet regularly with our clinical team to discuss and address the concerns treated through dual diagnosis. The individualized treatment plan of the client is continually reviewed and revised to provide the most effective approach to treating these co-occurring conditions. Some who come to alcohol and drug rehab are unaware they have a disorder. The abuse of drugs and alcohol has been able to mask the feelings that can be had with psychiatric disorders. Dual diagnosis treatment can create a plan of care to help these individuals with proper programs to also address their addictions.

Alcoholism, Alcohol Rehab Program

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Alcohol rehab can be a life saving measure. Alcoholism is a constant problem in society and literally millions of people can be diagnosed as having a drinking problem. Sadly, very few people seek help for this issue and struggle with drinking and alcoholism the remainder of their lives. A stigma develops in the brain that doesn’t view the drinking as a problem. Meanwhile, the individual can begin to lose control over aspects of their life to the pursuit of alcohol. It doesn’t have to be this way. Alcoholism and alcohol abuse can be overcome through the care of an addiction treatment program and the efforts of recovery.

Cirque Lodge nestled in the mountains of Utah offers a private and exclusive alcohol rehab experience. Alcoholism is treated through a caring and supportive recovery program at the Cirque. This is combined with a fun and engaging experiential piece to treat the body, mind and spirit. The struggles of alcoholism and pursuing the next drink are replaced with concepts of recovery and the joys of life. Cirque also offers a family program to address the struggles and behaviors of the alcohol problem within the home. This can allow the family a platform for healing.

The dangerous reality of alcoholism is that people are dying each and every day in their losing battle with the bottle. Many of those we love lack the control or the power to walk away from their addiction to alcohol. For these individuals, time in an alcohol rehab program can give them the strength and support needed to overcome their struggles. Caring therapies can help to address any underlying issues that can have a hand in the alcoholism problem as well. The 12-step program and Alcoholics Anonymous can play a vital role in building support and foundational principles of sobriety. This disease claims many lives; it is the reality of it. Get those you care about on to right paths of recovery, beginning with an alcohol rehab program.

Prescription Pill Addiction Treatment

Friday, September 17th, 2010

At Cirque Lodge, we have seen an ever growing number of cases for individuals who are struggling with chemical dependency to prescription pills. There are a wide variety of prescription medications that can be habit forming and addictive. Usually the culprits are the painkillers that are talked about on the news; things like Percocet, Vicodin and OxyContin. But these are not the only habit forming pills. Many medications intended to treat people have also shown to be rather addictive. A growing number of individuals are also developing dependencies to sleep aids and medications intended to treat stress and anxiety.

Drug rehab for prescription pills at Cirque Lodge begins with the needs of the individual. A proper diagnosis is made on their condition. This is coupled with intensive cognitive and behavioral therapies. Our intention is to first arrest the disease. This is followed by programs and activities that teach needed skills for the recovery process. Some medications are prescribed to treat a co-occurring condition like depression or anxiety problems. To these individuals, Cirque offers a dual diagnosis treatment. It is a drug rehab program to assist with chemical dependency, coupled with therapies to address the co-occurring disorder.

After drug rehab is completed, a Continuing Plan of action is implemented for the recovery process. This plan consists of whatever additional care, sober living, and recovery programs that are needed to maintain a successful sobriety. These efforts are coordinated prior to leaving the treatment facility. Prescription pill addiction is on the rise. For those who have developed an addiction to these medications, there is help. Cirque Lodge offers a caring recovery program with an individualized approach to this specific form of addiction.

Soundstage and Ropes Course at Cirque Lodge

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

The Cirque Lodge Studio has a massive 17,000 sq. ft. soundstage. This room has been used in the past for different movies and television programs. As a part of a drug rehab facility, this stage houses the world’s largest indoor ropes and climbing facility. This ropes course is used as a part of Cirque Lodge’s experiential programming. Experiential activities are used to teach recovery lessons and to arm the alcoholic/addict with the tools needed to maintain sobriety. The ropes course consists of a number of high and low elements of alcohol and drug rehab learning activities.

The soundstage is so massive that the ropes and climbing course is in a small part of the room. Other parts of the stage provide large areas for challenges and team building exercises. Different boards, ropes, logs, boxes, blocks and beams are used in providing challenging exercises. These activities can get the cognitive processes working and individuals discovering things about themselves. It can be eye opening to an individual who is typically quiet and introverted to take the lead and instruct individuals on different challenges. Team exercises can also show the importance in support for those in recovery. Support is a strong and influential piece to sober outcomes.

There are also a number of high rope elements and challenges as well. Behaviors that fuel drinking and using can be greatly rooted in feelings of inadequacy and fear. High rope challenges can be a means to conquering some of these feelings. The ropes course is built out of two massive tripods. Between these large wooden structures are a series of climbing events, cables and swings. The climbing challenges also involve cognitive activities and recovery lessons. Our experiential staff is made up of certified climbing instructors which have much experience in working with residents through these activities. They play an influential part in making this experience a positive and life impacting one.

Recovery Process Help for Alumni

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Recovery is a process for those struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. It is not uncommon for relapse to happen. At Cirque Lodge, things are put into place for our alumni. These things can be a means of relapse prevention and furthering the skills and tools of the recovery process. It all begins with a Continuing Care Plan for clients prior to discharge. The continuing plan provides outpatient programs, sober living options and coordinated efforts of additional therapy and 12-step help. Counselors at the Cirque also follow up with former clients to see how they are coming along with their recovery.

Those who remain local can take advantage of the recovery efforts held at Cirque Lodge’s Studio Facility. A weekly aftercare meeting is held for local alumni to attend. The Studio also hosts a number of community 12-step programs. Alumni can also return during family program for workshops and activities if they choose. Within all of this, resident confidentiality is still strictly observed. These means of help and support can help to maintain focus on sobriety goals. It can provide additional support and care from the facility that provided the treatment.

The Guesting Privilege is also an effective help for Cirque Alumni. Those who have graduated the drug rehab program can return for up to 96 hours of additional care when needed. This privilege is free of charge, but there are some guidelines. It is based on room availability and must be approved by the clinical staff. It is available only to those who have remained sober. Guesting is a lifetime privilege, whether the client has just left the program, or has been sober for a number of years. Alumni have the privilege to return to the serenity of the mountains and refocus the recovery effort. It is a process; some days are easier than others. Cirque residents have these helps in place to provide additional care and support to assist along the way.
