Addiction Treatment, Experiential Activities
Cirque Lodge uses a number of experiential activities as a part of its addiction treatment program. The activities serve many purposes. One such purpose is to help in building support and lines of communication. The studio facility houses the world’s largest indoor ropes and climbing course. There are both high and low rope course elements. The low ropes help drug rehab clients in developing communication and support for one another.
There are several different low ropes activities. It presents a challenge that must be accomplished as a group. Through cognitive lessons, the drug rehab clients can develop ways to overcome this task. Working as a team can help to build lines of communication. It also shows the importance to ask for help when struggling. A lot of individuals who struggle with drugs or alcohol may not know how to ask for help. Low ropes activities can make it possible for breakthroughs in communication.
Such activities are quite effective as a part of the recovery process, but they also make the addiction treatment program more fun. Overcoming alcohol and drugs can be difficult. It means giving up something that has a psychological hold on the individual. Experiential activities in drug rehab can ease some of the burdens, as well as replace some of the cravings with more constructive elements.
