Building Support for Recovery

Support for the Recovery ProcessSome of the things we can not do alone, we can do together. For those who are struggling with an addiction, the help and support of others can be a vital crutch. For many, building a network of support begins in alcohol or drug rehab. At Cirque Lodge, we use a number of group therapies and group based experiential activities to help build support for the recovery process. During our family program, loved ones learn ways to build support within the home for their family member in recovery. People must always know that they are never alone in facing their addiction problems.

The initial months after alcohol or drug rehab is completed can be the most critical. At Cirque Lodge, we provide a Continuing Care Plan for our residents. This can consist of additional measures of support for the recovery process. For some, it may be a sober living environment for a few months. Also support can be found by continuing to work the steps of recovery. The Continuing Care Plan consists of involvement in 12-step fellowships and working with a sponsor. These elements of support can be integral to long term sobriety, and keeping the all important connection to one’s higher power.

Alumni of the Cirque Lodge are provided other ways to help them in building and receiving support. We have an aftercare meeting each week where local alumni can stay in touch with the facility and each other. Throughout the country we host Alumni Gatherings, and each year an Annual Reunion here in the mountains. These are ways for Alumni to keep the flame of recovery, and to continually receive support for a lasting sobriety.
