12-Step Treatment Facility

12-step Recovery at Cirque LodgeAlcohol and drug rehab is founded on the 12-step program at Cirque Lodge. Treatment focuses on the disease concept of addiction, and provides a recovery program based on continuing the steps for a long term sobriety. In addition, drug and alcohol treatment also consists of intensive therapies, family treatment, and our experiential program. These elements also work on the concepts of the 12-steps developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. The use of experiential activities and the involvement of nature help us to create a spiritual awakening for those seeking to overcome addiction.

Since alcohol and drug rehab isn’t long enough to cover many of the steps, our focus is to provide a solid foundation of the initial recovery steps. After rehab, a plan is put into place to continue the steps with meetings like AA, NA or CA. The initial steps involve finding and establishing connections to one’s higher power. The power of nature and the spirit of the mountain greatly help with this.

People can have misconceptions that spirituality means religious. Treatment at Cirque Lodge allows the resident to view and understand spirituality in whatever manner they feel most comfortable. Whether it is God, Nature, the support group, or even family, we strive to help our residents establish a solid connection to their higher power. This connection is integral to continuing on after rehab, and obtaining a life long sobriety.

Reconnecting in Drug Rehab

Reconnecting Out On The MountainThe part of the 12-step process that is dealt with in drug rehab revolves around making connections to one’s higher power. At Cirque Lodge, this is done in a number of ways. People suffering from alcohol or drug addiction can be struggling spiritually in their lives. We strive to provide vital spiritual experiences that facilitate reconnecting to a power greater than one’s own. Because of the varying belief structures out there, residents of Cirque Lodge are invited to find their higher power in whatever capacity they feel comfortable.

The influence of nature and the mountain are used in making these connections. We give our residents many opportunities to get out onto the mountain and make these connections on their own. Many of our nature based activities teach concepts of 12-step recovery. They even give the residents a chance for alone time and personal meditation. A solid connection to one’s higher power can change the outlook on the recovery process. It can be the influencing factor in times of struggle, when the impulse to use is strong. Alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge focuses on providing experiences for the alcoholic/addict to make solid connections to their higher power.

After Drug Rehab, Support and Strength

Friday, May 1st, 2009

Serenity Prayer Closes a 12-step MeetingAfter rehab is completed, a 12-step fellowship can provide strength and support for the recovery process. Even though a person has completed alcohol and drug rehab, the influences and cravings of alcohol and drugs doesn’t go away. Back in the real world, the temptations to drink or use can be strong at times. Active enrollment in a 12-step fellowship can help individuals to stay focused on their daily goals of sobriety. This is most critical in the initial months of recovery. It takes time in sobriety to strengthen one’s resolve. 12-step fellowships and addiction sponsors can provide the support needed for the difficult times, when resolve is not so strong.

A part of aftercare at Cirque Lodge is to help individuals find 12-step fellowships in their own communities. A continuing care plan is prepared with many elements of treatment help following alcohol and drug rehab. At the foundation of the continuing care plan is an active enrollment in 12-step meetings. A fellowship will appoint a sponsor to help for the initial months of the recovery process. Involvement in 12-step meetings can keep the individual focused on sober goals and helps to maintain that all important connection to one’s higher power.

Working With an Addiction Sponsor

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Addiction Sponsors Provide SupportFor those in recovery from alcoholism or drug addiction, a sponsor is a nice thing to have. A sponsor is a one-on-one support network usually appointed by a 12-step fellowship. A sponsor can be a valuable crutch in times of need when faced with the temptations to use or drink. During alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge, our residents begin the work of the 12-step program. After residents are established in the drug rehab program, they have a chance of being involved in a 12-step fellowship and working with an addiction sponsor. This can be preparatory for working with a sponsor once addiction treatment is completed.

Addiction sponsors are an example of successful sobriety. They were at one point in similar shoes. In working the 12-step program, they found sobriety. In successful recovery it is role of such individuals to take the message to others and to help them. Alcoholics and addicts need influential people in their lives at times. An addiction sponsor can be that influential person and can be a great help in the times and social situations when the temptation to use is strong.

What can’t be done alone can be accomplished together. An addiction sponsor can provide needed support in times of need. For many, it begins with the help of drug rehab. After that, it is the support and help of individuals like an addiction sponsor.

Beginning the 12-steps in Rehab

Making Connections to a Higher PowerAt Cirque Lodge, residents begin the recovery process with a personalized alcohol and drug rehab program. As a 12-step facility, our residents receive treatment that has a foundation on that philosophy. People are in addiction treatment for just a short time. This isn’t time long enough for really working through the 12-step process. At Cirque Lodge, we focus on a solid foundation of the initial work of the 12-steps. We use a caring drug rehab program and the healing of nature to assist with this.

The beginning steps focus on making connections to one’s higher power. At Cirque Lodge, we offer a number of venues and programs to help our clients make such connections. A balance of outdoor activities utilizes nature as a tool for establishing such a connection. As a part of these activities residents are allowed some alone time where they can focus and meditate. On the mountain, surrounded by the wonders of the earth, one can find the connection to a power greater than their own.

The 12-steps are spiritually based. People suffering from alcohol and drug addiction usually are spiritually at a low point. Using nature and similar activities can help to provide spiritual experiences that have a profound impact on the recovery of that individual. After drug rehab is completed, the safety and control of the facility is removed, and people once again must face impulses of addiction on their own. The connection to a higher power can be the means to a stronger resolve for long term sobriety.

Addiction Treatment – 12-steps, Cirque Lodge

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

The Joy of RecoveryAddiction treatment at Cirque Lodge is founded upon the 12-step approach to alcohol and drug addiction. While most individuals are only in alcohol and drug rehab for a short period of time (not long enough to work many of the steps.) The focus of treatment is to establish a solid foundation of the initial steps of the 12-step approach, and to give a solid foundation on the concepts of recovery. Most times when a person leaves drug rehab, additional help is needed. The role of 12-step meetings and support groups play an integral part in recovery at that point.

The initial steps of the 12-step approach deal with finding a connection to a power greater than one’s own. We have created a number of venues where such a connection can be made. Addiction treatment extends beyond the therapy wall and reaches out to nature to provide this connection. Cirque Lodge clients have a number of opportunities to experience the healing of the nature, as well as the power that comes from the spirit of the mountain. A connection to a higher power can make a difference in the success of recovery process and working the 12-steps. It can greatly ease many of the pains and burdens that arise throughout the recovery process.

Support and Aftercare

Support can be a Great Help to RecoveryRecovery from addiction is a process, not an event. For many individuals it can take time, effort, and a whole lot of patience. One thing that helps in the recovery process is support. Addiction can be very isolating. Friends and support can be invaluable. Support begins in drug rehab, and extends beyond rehab with involvement in 12-step meetings and working with a sponsor.

A part of a stay at Cirque Lodge involves being introduced and enrolled into 12-step meetings and working with a sponsor. Once the drug rehab program is completed, these practices can be instrumental in obtaining successful sobriety. Each Cirque Lodge resident is prepared an aftercare program. This helps to promote and continue working the steps towards recovery. Our aftercare staff works with each resident to find what they are looking for in aftercare elements. A continuing care plan is developed. Following this plan provides needed support for some of the bumps, that oftentimes, are along the road to recovery.

12-steps and Experiential Activities

Experiential Activities in the MountainsCirque Lodge is founded on the 12-step program. During our resident’s stay with us, we provide treatment that helps them begin a 12-step recovery. We use experiential activities as a part of our treatment. Some of these activities are used to help with the 12-step process. Our experiential program takes advantage of our unique location. A whole new type of healing can be experienced when surrounded by nature. Our drug rehab program consists of daily experiential activities to enhance the recovery process.

Nature activities have elements of the 12-step program in mind. Sometimes a nature hike or snowshoeing will be capped off with a lesson from the Big Book. Other activities of the experiential program are used to help residents with their second and third steps. These steps involve finding a power greater than their own, and turning their addiction problem over to that power. The spirit of the mountain can be this power for a number of people. We invite residents to find that connection with their higher power in any capacity they feel comfortable with.

Making Steps Through The Recovery Process

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Recovery Begins in Alcohol and Drug RehabRecovery is a process. It isn’t always easy. It means giving up the drugs and alcohol that at one point was in complete control of that individual. For a lot of people it takes steps to obtain a successful recovery. These steps are diagrammed within the 12-step program developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. For most people the process of recovery begins with either alcohol rehab or drug rehab. In a rehab setting, the individual begins this process and is introduced to the 12-steps. Additionally therapies are used to supply treatment for the problems that come with alcohol or drug addiction.

Cirque Lodge is founded on the 12-step program. Treatment is based upon supplying a 12-step recovery process. Alcohol and drug rehab isn’t nearly long enough to obtain recovery. Most people are in rehab for just a couple of months. Our focus is to provide a solid foundation of the initial steps of the 12-step process. Afterwards, additional programs are offered like AA or NA meetings for continuing the steps to a successful recovery.

The initial steps of recovery are the most critical. It involves finding a connection with a power greater than one’s own, and turning over problems of addiction to that power. At Cirque Lodge, surrounded by the mountains, a powerful connection can be made. This connection to a higher power is needed for the critical times of recovery, when faced with the struggles in addiction. It is a connection that can greatly ease the pains and burdens the make themselves known throughout recovery.

Beginning the 12-steps in Alcohol and Drug Rehab

Friday, January 16th, 2009

12-step Meeting Closes with Serenity PrayerFor most, alcohol and drug rehab is the start to beginning the 12-steps toward recovery. The 12-step program is still the primarily used treatment approach to alcohol and drug addiction. Overcoming addiction is a process. Even with treatment, the impulses to use and to drink remain. The 12-steps provide a guideline for continuing sobriety. Involvement in the many anonymous recovery programs also provides all the needed assistance to stay sober. Cirque Lodge is founded on the 12-step program. A stay in drug rehab isn’t a long enough time in recovery for most. We strive to help our alcohol and drug rehab clients to have a solid foundation of the initial steps towards recovery.

When residents leave any addiction treatment program, they are once again exposed to many of the temptations they previously had succumbed to. 12-step meetings and support groups take on the role of assisting continued sobriety. Prior to leaving drug rehab at the Cirque Lodge, each client is given a number of options when it comes to continuing the 12-step process. These options are constructed into a continuing care plan for recovering success. Clients also get accustomed to the atmosphere 12-step meetings and working with addiction sponsors while still in treatment. They are educated and aware of the need and importance for continuing to work with such programs.

Throughout working the 12-steps of recovery, one needs to maintain that solid connection to a higher power. This is one of the steps covered in drug rehab at Cirque Lodge. One must establish this connection and be willing to turn over their addiction problems to that power. At the Cirque Lodge, we strive to provide vital spiritual experiences. Such experiences can create a solid connection to that power greater than our own. In the difficult times, when things just seem to be working against, that connection can be the strength to staying sober.
