Cirque Lodge has two facilities for treating alcoholism and drug addiction. The Lodge itself is a private mountain retreat at Sundance Utah. The Studio is a 100,000 sq. ft. facility a short drive away. Multiple facilities allow the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program to treat a larger dynamic of those in need of addiction recovery. Both facilities offer the very same addiction treatment program, experiential activities and confidential treatment experience. 

The Lodge is a limited enrollment drug rehab facility. It has the feel of a luxurious mountain retreat. The facility itself offers very comfortable accommodations and relaxation amenities. There are also a number of counseling offices and venues for different therapy programs. The Lodge is quite private and exclusive. It is oftentimes the destination for high profile clients who are seeking a confidential addiction treatment program. The Lodge is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and large windows allow clients to take in the serenity.

Due to the success of the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program, a second facility was incorporated to treat a greater number of patients. The Studio, in Orem Utah, gets its name from being a TV and movie studio many years ago. A renovation to the facility made it ideal as an addiction treatment center. The Studio offers treatment to a greater number of residents. It is the home to the administrative offices of Cirque Lodge and hosts many local 12-step programs. The unique aspect of the Studio is its massive size. It is the venue for a number of experiential activities, including an indoor ropes course, in and outdoor equine venues, and also the launching pad for the Cirque Lodge helicopter. Residents of the Studio are also provided very high levels of privacy, world class accommodations and the most effective approach to alcohol and drug addiction treatment.

Drug addiction treatment requires a unique dynamic. Each individual can be struggling and dealing with the issue in a completely different way. You are also dealing with different personalities, opinions and behaviors within what is a very diverse disease. Improper nourishment is a common problem that comes with substance abuse and alcoholism. When in drug rehab, the individual can begin the process of physical recovery with a proper dietary program and regular exercise. This physical component is very effective when combined with the clinical aspects of treatment and therapy.

The Lodge, that is in Sundance and the Studio, which located a few minutes away in Orem. The Lodge is nestled in the mountains. It is located on a private drive in Sundance, and overlooks the ski resort. This facility has only 16 beds for clients and private rooms are available. The Studio is situated on 12 private acres in Orem Utah. It offers accommodations for a much larger community of men and women. We understand individuals can have different needs when it comes to accommodations, and this array of facilities and rooms can help to meet many varying needs.

Both facilities provide a personalized approach to addiction treatment. Clients work through an individualized program and with a personal counselor during their stay. While individuals have chemical dependency in common, their areas of vulnerability can be very distinct. A personalized program allows each client to come to terms with their disease in a capacity that best suits their needs. This is a program provided by a caring and dedicated number of treatment professionals. Both Lodge and Studio provide the utmost in a comfortable and private treatment stay.

Addiction treatment at Cirque Lodge offers recovery for the body, mind and spirit.  The spiritual aspect is one that many can struggle with. Those struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction can be at low ebb in this department. In working a 12-step program, spiritual recovery is a must, and at Cirque Lodge we strive to provide experiences that can invoke an internal, spiritual change. In this sense, spiritual change isn’t necessarily a religious experience. We allow the residents of our alcohol and drug rehab facility to find this change however they view it. The mountains, nature, and even concepts of Native American culture are used to teach the concepts of the human spirit.

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous talks about vital spiritual experiences. Most people don’t think of horses when it comes to addiction treatment.  At Cirque Lodge, horses are very much a unique and effective piece to alcohol and drug  rehab. Blended in with the traditional and clinical forms of rehabilitation,  Our experiential program has shown a very successful and life changing ability. The horses are a foundational piece to this experiential learning. The recovering alcohol/addict can have very intimate lessons in trust, communication, establishing boundaries and learning to ask for help. This all comes from working with horses.

Horse therapy in addiction treatment can be a process for the alcoholic/addict.  In this situation, the bigger, stronger, faster horse will not allow the individual to get their way. The process is putting aside the mindset and behaviors of addiction and utilizing a mindset that asks for help and establishes boundaries. This can be a process for some. However, in the end, a strong connection can be made between the individual and the horse.  

The interesting thing about the equine portion of Cirque Lodge is that it can have a varying effect on people. One individual may get a completely different experience out of it than another. Nonetheless the experiences still have a deep impact on the individual. It is a lesson that can be  used as a skill set in communication; things that can be used within the recovery process.

Treating alcoholism or drug addiction can be less effective with a generalized program.  Individuals can have specific needs when it comes to care. Some individuals can be dealing with traumatic experiences or suffering from grief, this is in addition to chemical dependency. Not all struggles and addiction related problems are meant to be shared in group. Personal one-on-one sessions are an ideal environment for discussing and dealing with the underlying conditions of addiction.

Our staff meets together throughout each day to discuss residents, and how to better improve the experience for each individual resident. The addiction treatment counselor is oftentimes an integral piece to the more intensive elements of therapy. They work with residents during family week, and provide needed counsel to the family for the recovery process.
