Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

A Program for Alcohol Problems

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

This is the time of year when alcohol problems can rear their ugly head. Parties and celebrations can turn into excuses for drinking too much for those with alcohol problems. Perhaps these times should be seen as a cry for help; that an individual may be beyond their realm of control when it comes to alcohol. Usually, it is up to loved ones and those who care to get those with alcohol problems into appropriate recovery programs. When there is an alcohol problem, and it is frequent and uncontrollable, alcohol rehab can become a life saving measure.

The alcohol rehab program at Cirque Lodge is provided in a private, comfortable and caring environment. Time here in the mountains of Utah can begin a successful and long term sobriety. The program is a little different here.  We do use traditional 12-step elements and the most effective forms of cognitive and behavioral therapies. Incorporated into all of this however, are fun and engaging experiential activities. A hands on method of teaching recovery provides a positive foundation for working a program and having life changing experiences.

Personalized Care for Those in Need of Alcohol Rehab

Monday, November 30th, 2009

There are a lot of internal things that can be problems to individuals struggling with alcoholism. These deeply rooted personal issues can present an obstacle that can only be overcome with endless bottles of hard liquor. Within an alcohol rehab setting, these personal issues need treated to help the individual find an internal change and make life altering decisions. At Cirque Lodge, this is done with a personalized attention to alcohol treatment.  Each individual is cared for according to their needs, and treatment and care is personalized with confidential therapy.

When an individual comes to us for alcohol rehab, a number of things are performed. We utilize a rigorous assessment and testing process to determine individual needs. We assign a licensed professional counselor and an individual case worker to provide care for the recovery process, as well as help with the 12-step program. Counselors provide one-on-one care and therapy according to each individual’s treatment plan.  Within these sessions, one can come to grips with these personal things, these obstacles that can only be satisfied by feeding the alcoholism. Over time, the individual can discover for themselves the things needed to leave this debilitating problem behind them.

A Safe Haven for Alcohol Rehab

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Shared Accommodations at the LodgeSometimes the alcoholic’s biggest enemy is themselves. Their mindset and behavior have made it almost impossible to get through the day with a steady dose of drinking. Meanwhile, life spirals out of control. Cirque Lodge provides a safe haven away from the struggles of alcoholism. Alcohol rehab or drug rehab is provided in a private and exclusive facility. Residents undertake a highly effective recovery program, while developing the skills needed to stay sober after rehab is completed.

We have gone to great lengths to make our facilities very nice; in accommodations, amenities and even in the food. Equal to this is the commitment and care of our staff. Recovery is very much a field of attraction. The individual has got to want these things in their life to take hold. If they come into alcohol rehab and the bed is uncomfortable or the food is not good, this can be something they focus on instead of real recovery. With nice facilities and things, we take this away. The individual can forget everything except the matter at hand, getting well again.

Our facilities also provide a private and safe place away from the influences of addiction. Triggers, things that enable, unwanted outside influences, these things are done away with for us to provide a caring and effective program. Earlier, I said the alcoholic’s biggest enemy is themselves. Within this facility the alcoholic is surrounded by caring support, from staff members, licensed counseling professionals and fellow individuals striving for recovery. We strive to make each day a new opportunity for a life changing experience and alcohol rehab as a foundation for a lasting and successful recovery.

Alcohol Rehab Focused on the Family

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Every third week of alcohol rehab is focused on the Family. Residents of Cirque Lodge are encouraged to involve their family members in this programming. Family Week runs from Tuesday through Friday. Each day provides different education and therapeutic elements to the family and their loved one in alcohol or drug rehab. It gives the family a chance to see their loved one in alcohol treatment and to learn things needed for the recovery process. Alcoholism is a family problem. Loved ones must work together in support to overcome these struggles.

Family members may be completely unaware of how behavior is affecting their alcoholic loved one. The majority of relationships, where addiction is involved, can be classed as codependent. Living this way enables the alcoholic to drink. Part of family week is to better educate family members on the nature and behavior of addiction. They learn about codependency and ways to avoid the behaviors that enable. Special sessions are also provides to help the family with communication and with honest feelings.

Family Week also gives the loved ones of our residents a chance to experience the Cirque Lodge first hand. Our chefs provide delicious breakfasts and lunches each day. Experiential activities are available for participation. Therapy and care is even provided by the counselors of our treatment staff. Effective support is needed after alcohol rehab is completed. A supportive home can be a solid foundation for continuing the recovery process. Family Week can provide the education and help needed for this to become a reality.

Treating Grief in Alcohol Rehab

Treating Grief with Alcohol Rehab

For some, the drinking problem is covering up a deeper issue. The loss of a loved one, or a traumatic experience can lead to grieving. Alcohol has the ability to suppress these feelings for a time. The problem is that they don’t go away, and more and more of the drink is needed to have the same suppression. The grieving problem becomes an alcoholism problem. The struggles have now compounded. The suffering is still going on, but the endless drinking has brought all new complications to the picture.

At Cirque Lodge, we use a caring and individualized alcohol and drug rehab program. Elements of alcohol rehab are used to put the drinking problem into remission. All the while, caring licensed counselors provide therapies to address the grieving problem. A supportive and healing environment is conducive to recovery. It is also sensitive to the individual who is trying to heal from these deeply rooted emotions. Alcoholism can amplify the feelings of hopelessness and fear. Our caring alcohol rehab program provides the healing and therapy needed to restore hope and showing the joys that come from productive living.

An Active Alcohol Rehab Program

An Active Alcohol Rehab Program

Alcohol and drug rehab provides healing and answers for the body, mind and spirit. Cirque Lodge is an active program. We have different elements to help those in alcohol rehab with healing for the body. One of the prerequisites we have for entering our facility is that the individual be able physically to participate in all elements of treatment and activity. Different indoor and outdoor activities are used each day to help with physical recovery and teach skills for coping with alcoholism.

Cirque Lodge also has a focus on yoga. Yoga is more than just an exercise. Those who practice yoga find a balance for conducting themselves and a balance to their lives. The residents in alcohol rehab can greatly benefit from a balance like this. Residents are introduced to the practices of yoga. This can be used as a tool in recovery after alcohol rehab is completed. Personal trainers are also available for those in extended care to improve their overall health and wellness through circuit training workouts.

A lot of times, those who come to us to treat their addiction problem are in pretty bad shape. An active program helps them to physically recover; while the effective therapies treat them for their disease and provide rehabilitation.

Personal Help in Alcohol Rehab

Help with the Struggles of Alcoholism

A lot of times, the alcoholism is developed from other things. People can be suffering in different ways and the use of alcoholic beverages provides them a relief for a time. Whenever these struggles manifest themselves, the individual turns to the bottle and the problem is briefly solved. In the long run, this is not so good. The abuse and habit of abusing alcohol can lead to an addictive attachment. At that point an alcohol rehab or drug rehab can only option. Drinking is no longer the solution to the problem. It is the problem. This is coupled with the preexisting struggles that were being drowned out by the drinking in the first place.

At Cirque Lodge, alcohol rehab is personalized for each client. Therapies are personalized to help the alcoholic with the underlying conditions of addiction. Traumatic experiences, suffering from grief, mood disorders; they all can be influencing factors. Rehabilitation efforts work on arresting the disease, while personalized therapies help to address these underlying struggles. Experiential work also teaches coping skills for living with addiction and dealing with the underlying conditions. Our purpose is to replace the despair of these conditions with the hope and joy that comes from living life in recovery.

Throughout an alcohol rehab stay, the individual is receiving endless support. This comes from caring staff members, fellow residents, and for those in extended care, their sponsor. The recovering alcoholic must always have an understanding that there is support for their problems. When these underlying conditions manifest themselves, the alcoholic can turn to this support as opposed to turning back to the bottle. Also, following the 12-step program can help them with this needed support after their time in alcohol rehab is completed.

Alcohol Rehab Helping With Spirituality

Spiritual Experiences in Alcohol Rehab

Cirque Lodge uses the 12-step program in helping individuals address their problems with alcoholism. This programming is typically spiritually based, and we work with residents in alcohol rehab in reconnecting spiritually. This can be misconceived as religious rehab. At Cirque, we don’t focus on any religion foundation. We allow our residents in alcohol and drug rehab to make spiritual connections in whatever manner they need. We then make this the focus for that individual’s recovery process. We even use concepts of Native American spirituality and the power of nature to help those in alcohol rehab to make such connections.

Part of the 12-step concepts is to help individuals suffering with alcoholism in having spiritual experiences. Having such experiences does not happen overnight. It is a process as the individual makes steps towards recovery. In an alcohol rehab setting, we use a number of different activities and therapies to allow the alcoholic to obtain such experiences on their own. We surround residents with nature and the mountain. This setting is conducive to spiritual experiences and connecting to one’s higher power.
