Personal Help for the Alcoholic/Addict

Monday, March 15th, 2010

The focus at Cirque Lodge is the personalized treatment of the alcoholic/addict.  While individuals suffer from the common malady of addiction, their vulnerabilities can be very different. A rigorous assessment is used to determine the needs of the individual. Professional tests and diagnosis is used in determining these needs. This is then used to lay out a treatment plan for that individual.  These needs can vary depending on emotional, psychological and behavioral factors.

Also taken into account are other factors the individual is dealing with. A psychiatric disorder is addressed with dual diagnosis programming. Personalized therapies are also used in addressing trauma or dealing with grief. Personalized care strives to bring awareness to these vulnerabilities and to address them with proper therapies and recovery programs.

Each client is assigned a personal counselor during their treatment stay. Counselors meet with clients during the week in addition to normal programming for one-on-one counseling sessions. They oversee the treatment plan and see to it that each client is receiving appropriate care for their needs.  Addiction and alcoholism is a complex and aggregate issue. A personalized approach to alcohol or drug rehab can help to provide the individual with care they specifically require.

Teaching and Learning in Drug Rehab

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Lectures and workshops are used to better educate the addict on drug abuse, alcoholism and addiction. The individual may be unaware of what their abuse is doing to their central nervous system or their behavior. Part of alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is to better educate the alcoholic/addict for the recovery process. They better learn the concepts behind the disease of addiction. Also addressed are different influences and behaviors that are a result of this type of substance abuse.  Upon completion of treatment, it is our hope that each individual has a full understanding of the nature of addiction and what is needed for recovery.

Members of the Cirque’s treatment team, visiting professionals and members of the recovery community all provide fun and engaging lectures and workshops for residents and family members. We strive to make these lectures as enjoyable as they are educational. Object lessons and engaging speakers can help the individual in better understanding their condition and what is required for abstinence and recovery.

Similar workshops are used to teach individuals about the recovery process as well. Cirque Lodge is founded on the 12-step program. Much of the emphasis of treatment is placed on individuals finding their path through this modality. At Cirque, we use the mountains and nature to help drive the point home of spiritual recovery and working the steps. A balance to educational, clinical and the 12-steps help to provide individuals with what they need for long term sobriety.

A Balance to Drug Rehab and Treatment

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

At Cirque Lodge, an effective balance goes into addiction treatment and drug rehab. It begins with the needs of the individual. Each client is rigorously assessed prior to treatment. This is used to create an individualized treatment plan for them. In personalizing the treatment plan, each individual is provided with one-on-one therapy sessions with a licensed counselor and family sessions during our Family Program. This is platform for dealing with some of the personal and traumatic problems that addiction can have a hand in.

Support is introduced through differing group based therapies and 12-step recovery programs. The residents of our facilities function as a community. Counselors and staff are also available for support when needed. The balance of group elements can be workshops all the way to more intensive therapies. Members of the group can focus on supporting the individual in their times of struggle.

A different type of treatment and recovery work is balanced into all of this. The more intensive and traditional forms of rehabilitation are combined with the unique and enjoyable experiential activities offered at Cirque Lodge. Each day, residents have the opportunity to participate in a different activity. These fun and engaging elements are used to teach recovery concepts and skills for self management. Shaping pottery, flying in a helicopter, swinging from a giant pendulum swing, and even working with horses are all used to teach lessons of recovery.

There is a unique balance to Cirque Lodge. It is the balance of the traditional, intensive and experiential that has helped many find a means to long term recovery.

Programs for Families and the Recovery Process

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Family members play an integral role in their loved ones recovery process. However, the family member may not be aware of how they can do this. Good intentions can also be an enabling behavior. Alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque is for more than the individual. It is also for their loved ones. When an alcoholic/addict enters rehab at the Cirque, their family is also invited to attend our specialized program for families.  It is a fairly frequent program that occurs every three weeks of the treatment cycle.

Family Week consists of a lot of things. It is four days filled with workshops, fun experiential activities, specialized groups and therapy sessions. With this programming the family can be better educated on the nature of addiction and how they can help through the recovery process. Personalized sessions are used to help the family tear down the walls that were built up by the addiction and to begin healing. This can be difficult for some, but ultimately can be extremely therapeutic and a foundation for continuing recovery.

Skills for Recovery through Horse Therapy

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

People have a lot of different ideas when it comes to treatment in an alcohol or drug rehab. Working with horses usually isn’t one of them. At the Cirque Lodge, this is very much a reality. As a part of our unique experiential program, residents have the chance to learn profound lessons on recovery. Some experiential work involves horses and what we like to call “equine therapy”. Time spent with the horses can be a very eye opening endeavor. It can teach the recovering alcoholic/addict behavioral things that can be used as tools for sobriety.

Equine therapy can be quite the process as well. Some individuals have never even seen a horse, let alone have ever interacted with one. Horses are also naturally creatures of flight and acutely aware. The bigger, stronger and faster animal is not always will to obey commands. The process of gaining the trust of the horses can be a difficult one at first. Our horse trainers are there every step of the way to work with residents and help them in establishing trust with the horse. When a connection is made, this can develop into a powerful bond. The individual learns a different way to present themselves, communicate and ask for help.

Equine therapy is just a small part to our powerful experiential piece to drug rehab. Horses, the mountain, a ropes course and even art/pottery are used to teach recovery lessons. When this is balanced into the more traditional forms of alcohol and drug rehab, you have unique and effective program. It is an experience that can be a foundation for long term recovery.

Personalized Care for Individual Need

Friday, February 19th, 2010

All individuals are different.  We all have different hope and fears, as well as different struggles in life. In an alcohol or drug rehab setting, individuals do have the similar struggle of chemical dependency, but can also be suffering internally from other things. Cirque Lodge uses a personalized approach to its recovery program. This is a program that is geared to meet individual’s needs and address their struggles in a caring and therapeutic manner.

There are many things that can be fuels to substance abuse. Psychiatric disorders, social disorders, trauma, and grief can all be at the heart of chemical dependency. Personalizing an alcohol or drug rehab program can help the individual in addressing these problems in their lives. It can show them ways to cope and deal with these conditions without the use of addictive substances. At Cirque Lodge, we use one-on-one therapies for addressing the more personal elements of addiction struggles. Group therapies are then used to supply support for the recovery process.

Each individual can also require different levels of care.  Some may instantly take to the drug rehab program and others may be a struggle. Some can require a lot of personalized clinical care and one-on-one time for addressing their struggles, while another may find what they need from attending 12-step meetings.  At Cirque Lodge, the program is tailored constantly to address individual’s needs as they begin the recovery process. It is a program that seeks to meet individual’s needs through thorough assessment and bevy of treatment modalities.

Very Private and Comfortable Rehab Facility

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Cirque Lodge offers a very private and comfortable facility for those seeking recovery. The alcohol or drug rehab program is based on the 12-steps and traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous; one of the key traditions being anonymity. Cirque residents benefit from a personal and confidential recovery program. This consists of a balance of effective therapies and life impacting experiential activities. At the core of all of this is a strict adherence to resident confidentiality.

Our alcohol and drug rehab facilities naturally provide individuals with privacy. Outside influences are at a minimum and clients can find peace and solace in the mountains. The facilities also provide the recovering alcoholic/addict with high levels of comfort and a homelike atmosphere.  Residents seeking the highest levels of confidentiality can even request a private room before they are admitted into the drug rehab program.

Resident confidentiality is just one of the many elements that go into the addiction treatment facilities of Cirque Lodge. It is the combination of the comfort, treatment, activities and privacy that have helped many find an effective and long term sobriety. It truly is an experience for those seeking for solutions to their addiction struggles; a safe haven away from the influences and problems of the world.
