Today wraps up another Family program at the Cirque Lodge. At Cirque, we feel that the family plays an integral role in support and recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. Every third week of the alcohol and drug rehab program is dedicated to workshops and programs for families. Residents of the Lodge and Studio are encouraged to involve their loved ones in these programs and activities. This program can also provide loved ones with needed support and help for dealing with the struggles of alcoholism and drug addiction in their home.

Education is a central part to the family program at Cirque Lodge. Family members and loved ones may be unaware of what is going on. Cirque supplies a number of engaging and interactive workshops that help to educate individuals on many aspects of addiction, treatment and the recovery process. As a 12-step alcohol and drug rehab facility, family also learns about this program, and has a lecture on the disease of addiction. Workshops are also offered about how to get support for themselves through Alanon-type programs and measures to apply self-care. It is our hope that these efforts can be applied to the recovery process, not only for their loved one in drug rehab, but for the family they interact with.

Special groups and therapy settings are also provided for families during this program. The communication breakdown can be part of the struggle in the home. Sessions are conducted by a licensed treatment counselor and it gives those involved a chance at open and honest communication as a family. It can be a means to getting to the heart of the concern and resolving problems that may be involved. This can be a bit intensive, but ultimately in the long run quite therapeutic. Family program also gives the loved ones of Cirque Lodge residents an opportunity to take part in some experiential activities and a chance to sample the food that is all a part of the Cirque Lodge experience.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration released a new study regarding alcohol and drug rehab treatment facilities in the United States. The study illustrated that treatment facilities are operating at near full capacity, or 89% according to a 2009 survey. A total of 110,795 beds were available for residential alcohol or drug addiction treatment, with 76% of these beds offered through private facilities. Also provided in the study was information that 1/3 of these facilities provide mental health services in addition to alcohol and drug rehab treatment.

Even with alcohol and drug treatment centers operating at near capacity in these difficult times, there are still a great many that suffer and struggle with chemical dependency. We all know someone, a coworker, a loved one, that struggles with drinking or with drugs. Treatment can be a means to saving their lives and it can be up to us to help them obtain proper treatment. Event near capacity there are still beds available and programs will to help.

Cirque Lodge begins with a 30-day treatment program, but provides extended care programs for those who require a 60 day, 90 day or lengthier program. To accommodate the continuing need for treatment, the Cirque operates two rehabilitation facilities in Utah. The Cirque Lodge is a dual diagnosis facility, offering services for addiction treatment and also mental health services. If you or a loved one is in need of a private alcohol or drug rehab stay, there is a bed available for you at the Cirque, coupled with one of the finest and multidisciplinary treatment experiences. To learn more, we encourage you to call, 1-877-99-REHAB.

Every resident who comes to Cirque Lodge for alcohol treatment or drug rehab can have different needs from the program. Prior to admission, a great deal of information is collected for that individual to help create a personalized plan for recovery. This is just the beginning of a professional thorough assessment that helps to determine personal needs. At the Cirque we see a very vast demographic of individuals who have one thing in common, chemical dependency. The approach to treating a middle-aged wife of four can require different measures than one that treats a 19-year old college freshman.

Alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge begins with a thorough assessment of the individual. Standardized assessments and inventories are also used in conjunction with professional and clinical assessments. This can help to determine a number of personal needs, including the need for dual diagnosis treatments for co-occurring mental health disorders like depression or anxiety. The effort provides caring treatments according to the needs of the individual. This is combined with proper support from staff, fellow residents and those in the recovery community. This effort begins with assessments that point out the best approach to help that individual on their level of need.

For those in treatment at Cirque Lodge it begins with 30-day treatment program. Alcohol and drug rehab consist of educational workshops and lectures, individualized therapies, group processes, experiential activities and a family program. 30 days may not be, however, enough time within a treatment facility for most. Studies have shown that greater time within a treatment environment increases the chances of remaining sober. Extended care programs are available at the Cirque. The decision on extending treatment is left up to client and their family members. Cirque Lodge counselors and staff will be available to offer their professional advice to the client on extending treatment or transitioning into a sober living home or outpatient program.

Extended care at Cirque Lodge continues the effort of the personalized addiction treatment program prescribed to the client. They will continue to meet with and work with their primary counselor and case manager. A greater emphasis is placed on working the 4th and 5th steps of recovery (personal inventory and ‘cleaning house’ steps). Also introduced are a greater number of recovery efforts, outside 12-step meetings and service involvement for those in extended care. This is of course coupled with more experiential work and spiritual building activities as well.

Whether the client stays for 30-days or longer, all graduates of the Cirque Lodge program are offered assistance through a Continuing Care Plan. This plan coordinates additional recovery efforts and aftercare programs for the individual. Graduates of the program can also take advantage of the Cirque Lodge Guesting privilege, which allows alumni to return to the facility and refocus efforts on recovery. At the Cirque, the commitment is based upon the needs of the individual. When that client is in need of a furthering care, the facility steps forward with extended care stays and progressing the recovery process with additional programming.

Alcohol and drug rehab offers treatment and care for those struggling with alcoholism or abusing drugs. However, after this treatment is completed, the alcoholic/addicts must once again face the world and learn to deal with it clean or sober. Relapse is very much a reality and a lot of the responsibilities of staying clean and sober are upon the individual. An integral part of an effective alcohol or drug rehab program is to prepare the individual for this time. This is done by arming the alcoholic/addict with the proper tools needed to abstain and remain clean and sober.

Self-Care – One treatment and recovery tool taught at the Cirque Lodge is the aspect of self-care. These are daily practices and routines that the alcoholic/addict can utilize in facing the triggers of addiction. In treatment, the schedule is structured with morning meditations and closing meetings to start and end each day. Within these activities, the clients take time to read out of the Big Book, lay out their day, meditate, and get focused on their sobriety. A similar time taken at night allows the individual to assess their day and prepare for the morning. When treatment is completed, the recovering alcoholic/addict can continue these practices as a means to focusing on their sobriety and arming themselves against the struggles of the world.

Coping Skills – Alcohol and drug rehab can also be a means to developing coping skills when faced with the triggers of addiction. Influences, places, situations and individuals can involuntary spark that impulse in the central nervous system to use the drug or drink of choice. These are referred to as triggers. The alcoholic/addict in addiction treatment can develop skills and strategies for dealing with such triggers. This is done through therapies, role playing, and working through cognitive and behavioral processes. At Cirque Lodge, coping skills and strategies are developed through unique experiential activities. The challenge of a ropes course, working with horses and mountain based activities are all used to teach strategies of relapse prevention and recovery.

Paths of Recovery – An integral tool to dealing with and addressing triggers and relapse is found in the 12-step program. This guideline is used as a means of assessing self and helping others throughout life. Recovery based alcohol and drug rehabs strive to provide an effective foundation of the 12-steps. Once rehab is completed, proper paths of recovery are found through a transition into attending 12-step meetings like Alcoholics Anonymous, working with a sponsor and through service. Rehab is like a safe haven away from the struggles of the world. After completing treatment, attending meetings can help to provide a very similar haven and support for those seeking to stay clean and sober.

There are many other tools and recovery elements involved in overcoming the problems and the struggles of addiction. What is developed depends upon what is provided by the alcohol or drug rehab provider and the efforts of the individual alcoholic/addict. People do recover from the problems of addiction. Such tools can play part in relapse prevention and long term sobriety.

Recovery Month is next month in September. This year, recovery month is not only to raise awareness and recognize those in recovery from addiction, but also those struggling with mental health disorders. In many cases these aspects can go hand-in-hand. Many alcohol and drug rehab programs are dual diagnosis, offering care programs for the addiction and therapy and recovery aspects for the disorder as well. It used to be such efforts required separate facilities and treatment professionals. It is advantageous that an individual struggling with disorders and substance use issues can find proper treatment and care within one rehab stay.

Co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders are very likely in individuals that struggle with such problems. A mental health disorder can lead an individual to self-medicate and temporarily address the feelings of depression, anxiety, or psychosis involved. Likewise prolonged substance abuse can also lead to developing emotional or mental disorders overtime. Some studies have shown that a central nervous system dealing with either addiction or mental illness can be up to 40% more likely to developing a co-occurring condition.

Cirque Lodge is a private and exclusive dual diagnosis facility in the mountains of Utah. We have treatment and psychiatric professionals on staff to work with clients through their struggles of mental health issues. This is combined with the efforts of a very effective and personalized alcohol or drug rehab program. The effort is tailored into a clinical treatment program for that individual. Cirque Lodge combines the best efforts of treatment and care for the body, mind and spirit. The clinical aspects of the dual diagnosis program are balanced with exercise elements and spiritually based mountain and recovery activities to provide healing.

It can be difficult dealing with a loved one who struggles with drinking or with a drug addiction. Many people have a hard time even recognizing this condition. There is help available for an addicted loved one. Such help can be a means to getting their life back on track. The scary reality is that people lose their lives to the struggles of alcoholism and drug addiction every day. By getting someone you care about proper help, intervention, or drug rehab, it can be a means to saving them from such a fate.

When a person requires treatment for their struggles with chemical dependency, proper interventions are measures to helping the addict. Performing such an intervention on a loved one can be the foundation for them agreeing to treatment. There are both social and professional services that help with providing interventions for alcoholism or for drug addiction. Cirque Lodge works with a number of intervention services and professionals willing to help with many aspects of recovery. You can learn more about these professionals through our Intervention Services pages.

The right treatment facility can also be a very important aspect to arresting disease of addiction and helping a loved one find recovery. At Cirque Lodge, we work tirelessly to provide the very finest in an alcohol or drug rehab facility. This starts with the comfort and accommodations of the facilities themselves. It extends into the efforts of a world-class staff of clinicians and addiction treatment professionals. This is combined with an active and engaging drug rehab program for body, mind and spirit. The human spirit is remarkable. Many have found a means to overcoming their struggles of addiction and living a long term recovery. However, these same individuals could not do it alone. Oftentimes it did require the care of a loved one to get them that initial help that they needed.

When you or a loved one comes to Cirque Lodge for alcohol treatment or for drug rehab, treatment is tailored to meet specific needs. This is done through a thorough assessment and a battery of tests that help the clinical team determine these needs. Prior to entering treatment, potential residents of the Cirque are required to fill out the pre-intake assessment form. This form provides needed information on the client’s substance abuse history, medical history and medications that may be required during treatment. This information helps to lay the ground work for the individual as far as the severity of their addiction struggles.

After admission to the Cirque Lodge for alcohol treatment or drug rehab, the first few days are used to get the individual accustomed to the facility and the program. Times is also taken to fill out assessments and a multiphasic inventory of the individual. Through these assessments, the clinical team can gauge much more about the individual and their struggles with alcoholism or with drugs. Assessments also take a deeper look into the individual’s psychology and emotional state and relationships with others. This information is also used to provide proper treatment for the client.

Assessments also involve meeting and working with the psychiatric professional at Cirque Lodge. Cirque is a dual diagnosis facility; offering addiction treatment services that are coupled with recovery programs for co-occurring mental health concerns. New residents meet with the doctor to determine if there is any need for additional treatments or medications for co-occurring disorders, like depression, anxiety or bi polar disorder. All of these assessments are collated together in creating an overall treatment plan for that individual. A primary counselor is assigned for the client. Counselors are licensed addiction professionals that oversee the addiction treatment plan. Counselors work with the resident throughout their treatment stay offering therapies and recovery programming.

Treatment begins with a 30-day alcohol or drug rehab stay known as Primary Care. Within this 30-day structure, the individual is treated with a balance of clinical therapies, experiential activities and the support. Recovery is introduced through the 12-step program. Treatment is individualized, but also consists of a number of group elements and a very effective family element. The intent of this intensive and therapeutic program is to arrest the disease of addiction, while introducing proper lines of support for early recovery. Aspects of the Cirque Lodge program are centered on providing powerful and vital spiritual experiences intended to invoke an internal change.

For those who require additional care, treatment can be extended for residents. The clients, their family and recommendations from the client’s counselor can assist in making the decision to furthering treatment in our private alcohol and drug rehab facility. Extended care is a step forward in the recovery process. The personalized addiction treatment program is continued. Additional aspects of 12-step recovery and working with sponsor are introduced. Extended care also introduces aspects of service and working with counselors on career management if needed.

Both primary care and extended care programs are offered at the Cirque Lodge and Studio facilities. Aftercare and special privileges are also arranged for the graduates of the Cirque Lodge drug rehab facility. A continuing care plan is developed to help the client with additional treatments or sober living after completing rehab. Weekly aftercare meetings are also available each and every week at the Cirque Studio facility. Residents in successful recovery can also take advantage of the Guesting Privilege. Graduates of the program can return to the facility and guest with us for a few days to recharge the recovery batteries. A number of additional Alumni activities and gatherings are also offered throughout the year to provide support and strength for recovery.

The behavior of seeking and using addictive drugs or alcohol can create quite a bit of chaos around the individual and their lives. Alcohol and drug rehab fits a structured schedule with a balance of treatment programs. At Cirque Lodge, this approach treats the body, mind and spirit, creating a balance for that individual and a means to long term recovery.

Part of alcohol and drug rehab is intensive. Individuals can be dealing with a number of personal struggles or underlying issues that can be negative influences. Such influences can lead to self-medication as a means to numbing the pain and forgetting the problems at hand. Therapy in many forms and family elements help to address these issues and get to the heart of the matter. Part of addiction treatment is also very educational. Its intent is to raise awareness in the individual about what substance abuse is doing to them, physically, emotionally and psychologically.

The balance is completed with the aspects of Cirque Lodge that treat the spirit. The 12-step program is one that focuses on spiritual aspects to recovery. At the Cirque, this is found through many means. The traditional aspects of recovery meetings and working with sponsors are in place for residents. There are also the many different uses of meditation, yoga and our experiential program that helps the individual reconnect spiritually. Such experiences can help to put aside the ruling forces of substance abuse and replace them with the positives of recovery.

There isn’t one set way to treat alcoholism or drug abuse. Each individual is unique and can require varying levels of care. A balance to treating addiction supplies many different means and forms care. Such a balance can lead to healing, recovery from addiction and productive living.
