Providing a Continuing Care Plan

Creating a Continuing Care Plan

It takes time to overcome the struggles of drug or alcohol addiction. The affect that addiction has on the central nervous system does not immediately go away. It requires time and space away from drug and alcohol abuse for the brain to recover. When in drug rehab or an addiction program, it can be easier on the individual. There are no immediate influences of drugs or alcohol. When one leaves rehab however, the influences of addiction can begin to creep back into life. A part of the rehabilitation process is to prepare the recovering addict/alcoholic for when this occurs, and arm them with coping skills and support.

Aftercare is a way to assist the individual, once they have left the safety of the treatment facility. At Cirque Lodge, each client is prescribed a continuing care plan by our aftercare coordinators. This plan is thoroughly discussed with client before they leave treatment. It involves finding and implementing the right aftercare types of programs that specific client is in need of. For some it may require additional therapy programs and counseling. For others it may just require a strong AA Program. Our aftercare coordinators can work with each patient to find the right programs, counseling, and support meetings that meet their needs.

For local alumni, Cirque Lodge supplies aftercare meeting ever Tuesday at 7:00 pm. This is a good way to stay surrounded by the strength of the treatment program. It is available to all alumni no matter when they came through the program. Our purpose is that it supplies needed support in times of need.
