Different Group Programs in Drug Rehab
A part of alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is our use of different types of groups. Groups help in building support for the recovery process. After the alcoholic/addict leaves the rehab facility, outpatient and recovery groups are a foundational element to maintaining sober goals. They can begin these practices as a daily part of treatment at Cirque Lodge. Different groups are used to educate and build support. A licensed primary counselor takes the lead in orchestrating the group and covering a number of topics and focuses. Fellow residents can work with each other and support one another as they develop and learn new concepts.
Cirque’s experiential program provides unique group activities for residents. Those in alcohol and drug rehab can grow in strength and build support through these activities. The group is faced with different challenges and only by working together can the challenge be overcome. The lessons of these exercises teach new ways in dealing with addiction problems, and also teaching the concept of asking for help.
After residents have been in rehab for a time, they are encouraged to take part in 12-step meetings and working with sponsors. These elements help in preparing for the recovery process. A lot of times, after rehab is completed, 12-step groups and a sponsor are often the only means one has of relapse prevention. This practice begins within the safe environment of Cirque Lodge. After a treatment stay is completed, the support and help of such groups can be integral in maintaining a sober focus.
