Extended Treatment and Continuing Recovery

Extended care is available for Cirque residents who would like more time within a treatment center. 30 days of treatment may be enough for some. However, a 60-90 day program allows the individual to focus more on the recovery effort and making life changing decisions. Many treatment centers have changed their alcohol or drug rehab curriculum to that of a 90-day program. Cirque Lodge is based on a 30-day program, however our clinical staff is more than happy to make a professional assessment and recommendation on whether more treatment is needed.

Extended care at Cirque Lodge continues the work of the 30-day program. The resident’s personalized treatment plan is continued and the individual begins on the additional parts of the 12-step program. A greater effort is taken in establishing the coping mechanisms needed for strong relapse prevention. Residents also begin to work within the local 12-step community and spending time with a sponsor. Extended care also helps to reintegrate the individual into society as a sober person.

With either the 30-day program or extended care, treatment at Cirque Lodge is complimented with a Continuing Care Plan. This is a plan of action for pursuing long term recovery. There are many elements and programs available to help with relapse prevention. Cirque Lodge works with the individual in creating this plan. Some may need a sober living environment as a part of their recovery process. Others may need more personal addiction therapy and treatments. Residents work with an aftercare coordinator in preparing this plan. Follow ups are also performed to see how the individual is doing with continuing their recovery process.
