Family Healing in Drug Rehab
Alcohol and drug addiction is more than the individual problem. It is also a family problem. The behavior and actions of addiction can deeply affect family members. Individuals who are addicted to drugs or alcohol can go great lengths to protect their problem. It can get to the point where they hurt their loved ones in an effort to continue using. This can create rift making it harder and harder for the family member to trust their alcoholic/addict family member.
At Cirque Lodge, we understand the strain that addiction or alcoholism can have on the family. We have created a drug rehab program that provides therapy and treatment for the family. Family Week takes place on every third week of treatment. Cirque Lodge residents are encouraged to invite close family members to come to the facility and be involved in the program.
There can be a number of misconceptions and problems between family members. Sometimes, the person must go to drug rehab against their wishes. The family program consists of therapies to help the family with communication regarding addiction. Family Week also provides lectures and courses to help family members understand the nature of addiction. The main purpose is to provide healing for the struggling family and resident. Family week is a profoundly powerful piece. It allows family members to tear down the walls that were built up by substance abuse, and openly communicate in love.
