Lectures on Aftercare Programs
Today is the final day of our Family Week program. Residents and their family members participate in a lecture regarding aftercare this morning. Elements of aftercare are a solid effort at relapse prevention. This lecture helps family members better understand the importance and types of aftercare programs that are available for their loved one in recovery, and even support programs they can attend as well.
Prior to leaving alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge, each resident works with their personal counselor and our aftercare staff on developing a plan for the recovery process. There are many ways to help with relapse prevention. The best measures of aftercare go into the individualized Continuing Care Plan for that resident leaving treatment. Involvement in outpatient treatments and support meetings can be a successful measure for the recovery process. Family involvement in these programs can be influential at their loved one having a lasting sobriety.
