Planning for Recovery

Falls Near the Cirque Lodge Facilities

Cirque Lodge residents are not left alone when they are discharged after successfully completing alcohol or drug rehab. We work with residents in creating a plan for their aftercare experience. There are many options when it comes to programs to assist through the recovery process. At Cirque, each resident works with our aftercare team on developing the best plan of action for this transition process. Closely following this plan is a means to staying sober and having a long term recovery.

There are many different kinds of living facilities and extended care programs that help to transition successfully back to society in a sober way. The advantage to a sober living type of facility is that the individual always has a safe place to come home to. Also to help those in recovery are an endless array of support groups. At Cirque, continuing the 12-steps is a foundation for the recovery process. A part of each plan is to continue to work with groups like Alcoholics Anonymous or an appropriate 12-step fellowship. There are also many other forms of groups and counseling available to assist with the recovery process.

The most challenging part for many in recovery are the social situations, parties, plane flights, and similar triggers that spark the impulse to drink or to use. Working with a sober companion or an appointed sponsor can be helpful for such situations. At Cirque, residents can work with a temporary sponsor while they still are in alcohol and drug rehab. Trigger situations can require this level of personal support. A sober companion or sponsor can be that means of support before taking that first drink or drug.
