Prescription Drug Addiction, It’s a Problem
Everyday there are stories in the news about pharmacy robberies. The culprits are not looking for money, they are looking for pills. Now the reason behind this is not always based on their own addiction, but a fair amount of time it probably is. The armed assailants usually are demanding oxycodone. These are medications meant to help us. It’s sad to see that these same medications have such a negative affect on members of society.
Some of these individuals are not criminal in nature. It is their addiction that has made them so. It is desperate act to keep the addiction (and withdrawal) satisfied. It is my hope that when these individuals are punished for their crimes, that drug addiction treatment is a part of it. For individuals who are not performing criminal acts, buts still have addiction problems, there is treatment available. A caring environment, like Cirque Lodge, can provide a safe place to bring an end to addiction. Don’t let it get to the point where crime is the only way of things. Treatment for prescription drugs can not only save an individual from prison, it can save that individual’s very life.
