Recovery through Education
Time in alcohol and drug rehab provides individuals with proper therapy, rehabilitation and care. It also gives the individual a much more in depth education on what addiction is and how it affects the body. At Cirque Lodge, so much goes into our addiction treatment program. Part of this balance is an education on the nature of addiction and the recovery process. This education goes beyond just the classroom setting. Lessons are also learned by being out in nature, working with horses and a number of other challenging activities.
Much has been discovered about the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. Lectures and workshops are used to help the individual better under what addiction is all about. Cirque brings in a number of professionals and lecturers to better describe the psychological, emotional and physical impacts of addiction. Members of the Cirque Lodge staff also teach and lecture on recovery and the 12-step program as well.
The educated alcoholic/addict is more prepared to take on their disease and work the recovery process. They have a greater understanding of what their struggles are and how to address them. This education is just a small part of alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge. Combined with the more therapeutic elements it provides awareness and coping strategies for the recovery process.
