One-on-One Support With an Addiction Sponsor
Recovery from alcohol and drugs is a process. After drug rehab is completed, it can be difficult to stay focused on sobriety efforts. The person in recovery is subject to the familiar influences that bring on the inpulse to use drugs, or to drink. By surrounding the individual with different influences, it is less likely that a relapse will occur.
One such influence is an addiction sponsor. A sponsor is a one-on-one support group willing to work with the recovering addict. Sponsors are usually individuals who have themselves found how to obtain successful recovery. A sponsor provides a personal support during the difficult times when faced with relapse. A sponsor can provide guidance and an example in maintaining success in sober living.
At Cirque Lodge, some of our residents require an extended treatment stay. Individuals in extended care benefit from progressive elements of therapy and treatment programs. One such element is incorporating addiction sponsors for support. After rehab is completed, The client is prepared to more closely work with an addiction sponsor in their own living environment. This preparation is developed by working with an addiction sponsor before they even leave alcohol or drug rehab.
