At Cirque Lodge, we strive to provide those in need of alcohol treatment or drug rehab with an amazing experience. This of course starts with caring program to treat addiction. It is also found in the efforts of comfort and luxury. One aspect to this comfort and experience is our culinary program. As a private and exclusive treatment facility, we seek to provide residents with a gourmet style dining experience during their treatment stay. The Kitchen is staffed with culinary professionals and chefs that provide three fresh, well balanced meals to meet client needs. The kitchen is also stocked with healthy foods, snacks and drinks that the residents can take advantage of when they are hungry throughout the day.
The Culinary experience also plays a part in physical recovery over addiction. Years of alcoholism and drug abuse can damage the body. Some drugs suppress appetites and alcoholics and addicts can be in serious need of proper nutrition. The dining experience during drug rehab helps to greatly supply this within a delicious way. The nutrition effort combined with the active addiction treatment approach of Cirque Lodge can be influential in the body recovering from the struggles of addiction.
Much like the individualized alcohol treatment or drug rehab program offered at Cirque, the culinary experience can also be tailored to meet specific needs. Residents can have special dietary needs that require meals prepared for them personally. Our culinary staff is more than happy to accommodate clients with such needs. The culinary experience does help to enhance the overall time here at the Cirque. Through the years the food has always been a point of positive review from clients who are graduating from the program. As a treatment center for addiction, the delicious dining experience is just a part of supplying the very best for clients and their families during a drug rehab stay.

Family members can also be deeply affected by a loved one’s drug abuse or alcoholism. The erratic behavior of the individual, the blaming and problems can negatively impact loved ones. When the alcoholic/addict goes to treatment this can be a means to helping them, but the family members can still be struggling and in need of help for their problems. A part of alcohol and drug rehab at the Cirque Lodge facility is a family program. Residents of the Cirque addiction treatment facilities can invite their family members to come and participate in a week of workshops and programs geared to help them.
Family program at Cirque Lodge is such an integral part of alcohol and drug rehab treatment. It is scheduled every three weeks to allow each resident and family a chance to attend and be involved. Family members can have a number of questions and concerns when it comes to a loved one’s alcohol or drug abuse. The week of programs consists of workshops and a number of lectures to both educate and help the family members and loved ones in treatment. Special sessions are also scheduled with counselors to allow the family a chance to address aspects of life and recovery where there may be concerns. Time is also scheduled for family members to participate in an experiential activity or two.
Overcoming drugs or alcoholism is a process. It takes time and recovery. For many overcoming addiction, fellowship and support can play a central piece. After alcohol or drug rehab is completed, many individuals find long term sobriety through the community of a 12-step program or similar recovery effort. Family members also have programs in place to assist them. Alanon/Alateen is such a support group for the loved ones of Alcoholics. Codependents Anonymous (CoDA) can also provide a place for support and a program for family members of alcoholics or addicts. With the help of such programs and the Cirque Lodge family program, loved ones of alcoholics and addicts can better understand their role and how to make their home one that is conducive to recovery.

The Cirque Lodge consists of two treatment facilities. The Lodge is a limited enrollment facility located in the mountains of Sundance. The majority of those seeking alcohol and drug treatment will find it through the Cirque Lodge Studio facility, a few minutes away from the Lodge in Orem Utah. In the beginning, it was just the Lodge, surrounded by the mountains in Sundance. Due to the success of the Cirque Lodge program, a second facility was needed to provide a growing number of individuals alcohol and drug rehab care. The Studio was a perfect venue. This 100,000 sq. ft building provided indoor places for experiential activities, offices for the day-to-day operations of the addiction treatment facility, and a number of rooms to accommodate both men and women residents.
The LODGE - The Lodge offers a quiet mountain retreat and serene place for alcohol and drug rehab treatment. Overlooking the Sundance Ski Resort, the Cirque Lodge is the ideal place for individuals seeking the highest levels of privacy and luxury in an exclusive addiction treatment stay. The facility itself has the feel of a mountain lodge and the finest in a world-class retreat. It provides a quiet, homelike atmosphere.
The STUDIO - The Cirque Lodge Studio accommodates a much larger clientele of those in need of alcohol or drug treatment. It gets its name from being a movie and TV studio in its past. A renovation to the facility made it perfect for treating men and women in need of alcohol or drug rehab care. The studio is also a venue for the Cirque Administration team, a number of experiential activities (including the Cirque Lodge horses), and hosts local 12-step meetings.
Both Lodge and Studio facilities provide the very same, effective alcohol and drug rehab program for clients. Treatment is personalized to meet the needs of the individual and provides a multidisciplinary approach to arresting the disease of addiction. Coupled with this is an amazing treatment staff committed to supplying proper means of support. Those in need of alcohol and drug treatment can find between these two facilities a bed and caring environment for addiction recovery here in the serenity of the mountains.

Cirque Lodge is considered one of the very best alcohol and drug rehab facilities in the world. One of the reasons for such consideration is the level of care provided to residents. This comes both during the addiction treatment stay and after clients leave the facility. A privilege is offered to graduates of the Cirque Lodge program to return at any time and Guest with us when needed during the recovery process. The lifetime guesting privilege allows the Cirque Alum to return to the serenity of the mountains and to get centered once again on the efforts of recovery.
The initial stages after treatment and working steps of recovery can be most crucial. The recovering alcoholic/addict can experience what is called Post-Acute Withdrawal Symptoms those initial weeks and months after drug rehab or alcohol treatment is completed. These symptoms can be difficult and can lead to relapse if not cared for properly. With the Guesting Privilege in place for Cirque Lodge Alumni, it is recommended that clients return when needed to receive additional care and support. Guesting is free of charge and consists of up to an additional 96 hours of care at a time.
Guesting is reserved for clients who have remained sober and is based upon room availability. The privilege is also not just for those who are struggling. Over the years past clients have returned to the Cirque to celebrate milestones in their recovery and to remember their experiences here. Cirque alumni are also encouraged to return and participate in Family Week workshops as well to help with their recovery process.

Part of the addiction treatment process at the Cirque Lodge involves education. The struggling alcoholic or drug addict is not aware of what they are doing to themselves and others. Alcohol and drug rehab treatment involves workshops, lectures and activities that instruct more about the nature of addiction, the behavioral struggles of chemical dependency and the recovery process. Cirque Lodge staff, caring professionals and members of the recovery community supply this education to clients during their treatment stay.
As a 12-step based alcohol and drug rehab, help and workshops are provided to instill the foundations of recovery in clients. This combined with the efforts of attending 12-step meetings and even with working with a temporary sponsor while they are here at the Cirque. Of course, the efforts of education are coupled with the very finest addiction treatment aspects, experiential programming and cognitive and behavioral therapies.
During Family program workshops also play an important role in helping family members understand addiction. A respected visiting professional in the recovery community, Dr. Kevin McCauley supplies a lecture on the disease concept of addiction. In this lecture, a much closer look is taken at the brain function, how it is affected by substance abuse and the resulting behaviors of addiction. This is quite instructional for not just the family members who attend, but also the Cirque Lodge resident participating. It is our hope that the information supplied in these lectures and workshops are utilized as a part of long term and successful recovery.

Activity is a central aspect to the Cirque Lodge alcohol and drug treatment program. Rehab can consist of a number of things depending on the treatment facility. At the Cirque, it involves a number of therapeutic elements and also a number of activities that help promote physical recovery from addiction. A lesson on helping one’s self or connecting to a higher power can be coupled with a bike ride or a hike into the private surround of the mountains, which supplies exercise. A regular exercise effort can be used as a relapse prevention tool.
Those in alcohol and drug rehab at Cirque Lodge have plenty of opportunities to exercise if they wish. During free time, clients can exercise at the facility (Studio clients can exercise at a local health club). Aspects of exercise, yoga and working with a trainer are also offered to residents as an experiential piece to the Cirque Lodge program. Many aspects of experiential therapy allow clients to get exercise through engaging activities. We take advantage of the many mountain trails and venues of the mountains as places for these activities. They are coupled with lessons of recovery and making connections to a higher power.
Part of the alcohol and drug treatment effort of Cirque Lodge is to provide clients with an arsenal of relapse prevention tools or skills. Some of these skills involve daily practices that help an individual focus on their recovery effort. One such practice can be the involvement of exercise. Exercise focuses on physical wellness which is similar to the focus of recovery wellness. It can also help to keep the focus maintained on the body, mind and spirit in the recovery process. Through exercise, the body also produces its own rewards for the individual which can replace the synthetic rewards supplied by substances.

Alcohol and drug rehab tends to be structured for those in need of treatment. This structure is multipurpose in its effort. Part of the structure is to help with daily practices that are tools to staying sober. The other part of the structure is to establish boundaries and responsibilities with the individual. In the struggles of alcoholism and seeking and using drugs, boundaries can be destroyed. In an addiction treatment environment establishing such boundaries can be a central piece to the individual and family members establishing boundaries within their recovery process.
Cirque Lodge residents work personally throughout their treatment stay with a primary counselor that helps with establishing such boundaries and responsibilities with clients. When family members come to Family Week, they are educated with workshops on the dangers of codependent relationships and what it can take to establish such boundaries within the home. Such accountability can be a foundational part of getting and remaining sober.

Residential treatment for alcohol or drug addiction can vary in length of stay. At the Cirque Lodge, it begins with a 30-day alcohol or drug rehab treatment, which can be extended with for a time based upon the individual’s need for care. Studies have shown that a lengthier addiction treatment stay has better outcomes. It gives the individual more time being in recovery and away from the influences of their drug or drink of choice. Many treatment providers have changed their programming to that of a 90-day program. At the Cirque, this decision is left up to the resident and their families. For those in need of a furthering alcohol or drug rehab program an extended care is available.
Extended care continues to provide the proper levels of treatment for residents and the support of a private recovery facility. The resident continues to work on regular basis with a primary counselor as the efforts of 12-step programming are continued through further involvement in the recovery community and with a temporary addiction sponsor. The initial time in alcohol or drug rehab can be used to establish the individual in paths of recovery by working on the first 1-3 steps of the program. Extended care at the Cirque Lodge looks to carry on with that effort by moving on with the steps. A supportive and treatment type environment can be quite helpful in tackling the personal inventory aspects of the recovery program.
Whether it is a 30 days or longer stay, the client of Cirque Lodge is also provided with a plan to continue care after they leave the alcohol or drug rehab facility. A Continuing Care Plan is developed to further the efforts of recovery into the residents own personal community. This can involve continuing work with an addiction therapist, a sober living/halfway house or an outpatient provider. It is intended to help the individual to continually make steps of progress towards successful long term recovery.

Overcoming alcoholism and drug addiction without help can be very difficult on one’s own. An advantage of professional care and a residential facility for alcohol and drug rehab is the support that is gained in the process. Support can be a central piece to getting and staying sober. With an alcohol or drug rehab facility, support is found through staff and also through fellow clients in treatment. Such support can be vital in those initial days, weeks and months of being clean or sober. It helps to establish in the alcoholic/addict that they are never alone in their struggles of chemical dependency.
Family members can play a central role in the support of their loved one’s recovery. At Cirque Lodge, a family program is offered to help those involved with establishing such support. A number of workshops are used to educate family members on the role of support and how to help their loved one in recovery. One of the recommendations is that family members become involved in programs like Al-anon or CoDA (Codependents Anonymous) for their own support. A supportive home which is conducive to recovery can function as a safe haven for the recovering alcoholic/addict.
After treatment is completed at Cirque Lodge, a Continuing Care Plan is established to help the client with continued support. This can involve something like a sober living house for some. Central to this plan and support is further involvement in the 12-step community or similar recovery effort. Through such an effort the individual can be involved in a fellowship of support, more importantly, personal support through working with a sponsor through the oncoming months and years of the recovery process. What cannot be done alone can be done together. Proper means of support can be a platform for early and long-term recovery.
