Beginning Drug Rehab

Upon completion of detox and arrival to the Cirque Lodge studio facility, the client begins the process of starting drug rehab. The advantage to a JCAHO accredited facility is the measure of preventative maintenance that is performed upon admission. Alcohol and drug addiction is a medical issue. It is nice to know that Cirque Lodge in Sundance Utah takes the precautionary medical measures to begin a drug rehab program.

The first order of business in admission is to clear up the paperwork. Treatment for addiction comes with paperwork and many things need clarified before a client begins addiction treatment. Our clients are greeted by one of our admissions staff and taken through the process. Our admissions department is empathetic towards your situation. They have gone through the recovery process as well. They will take the time to answer all of your questions and clarify what is expected of them in the treatment program. The drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge is very involved. Our admissions staff will help you to determine the proper course for addiction treatment.

Medical Examination and Prescriptions

As a JCAHO accredited facility, all clients must undergo a medical and physical examination before admission. This can be performed before arriving at Cirque Lodge by your personal medical physician. However, if this is not possible, we offer this service for our new clients. We want to make sure the client is physically capable of undergoing all activities in our program. A physical also determines if a medical treatment center is the best course of action.

We understand the need for medications. As a dual diagnosis facility we know that medications are needed for health and emotional problems. We ask each client to bring three days worth of medications with them to begin drug rehab. A part of the medical examination is to determine what medications are needed. Our treatment staff will then obtain the appropriate medications for each resident. As an addition treatment facility for alcohol and drugs, these medications are closely monitored, recorded, and administered daily by our med room staff. The med room is also the place to obtain any medications for headaches, indigestion, and other minor ailments. These medications are also closely monitored, recorded and administered. The purpose for such meticulous observance is to help future medical professionals with information after drug rehab.

Multiphase Personality Inventory

The MMPI was developed in the late 1930's by psychologists at the University of Minnesota. It is the most commonly used clinical personality examination in all forms of psych treatment. The Multiphasic Personality Inventory uses ten different clinical scales to distinguish an individual's psychological state. The scales are distinct at determining many of the psychological aspects of addiction as well.

Upon admittance to Cirque Lodge each client is placed through a rigorous Multiphase Personality Inventory. This provides the clinical staff with information to prepare the personalized program. The MMPI gives insight into personality and reasoning for addiction. As a dual diagnosis facility, we use the MMPI to address any emotional or mood disorder issues. A co-occurring addiction and disorder problem is treated accordingly by our addiction treatment staff. The MMPI is used to determine the proper course of action for treatment. We also use the MMPI to assign an addiction treatment counselor. Our client's personality inventory gives us insight into which of our treatment staff would best suit that client.

Accommodations and Tour of Drug Rehab Facility

We want our clients to be comfortable in their surroundings. A part of admissions is a complete tour of the facility. This tour is to help answer any questions and to allow our client to get comfortable in their surroundings. Residents of the Lodge are shown the facility and all questions are answered. The Studio is much larger facility and our staff will take the time to show each client around the premises. Residents of the Lodge also use the Studio's many unique activities as a part of our experiential program. So, it is important that the Lodge clients know their way around the Studio.

Accommodations at Cirque Lodge are both private and shared. This is entirely up to the individual in drug rehab treatment. However, studies have shown that a shared environment with roommates has a much more therapeutic outcome. Support is essential in recovery. A shared room gives the client a natural support structure with roommates.
