The experiential program at Cirque Lodge is filled with a number of activities that take full advantage of being in nature and experiencing the wonders of the mountain. The clients of our addiction treatment facility learn the therapeutic healing of nature on a first hand basis.

The experiential program utilizes the mountain surrounding of Cirque Lodge to promote natural healing. There are aspects to nature that provide an element of healing that can not be discovered in therapy. We take advantage of the natural surround through every season of the year. Drug rehab clients can enjoy the multicolored flowers of spring, to the changing leaves of autumn. They even can enjoy the quite of a winter's day. The therapeutic aspects of nature can help those suffering from alcohol or drug addiction find peace and harmony.

Experiential Nature Activities

There are several activities that take advantage of the serenity of the mountains at Cirque Lodge. The experiential program in nature enhances a stay at the addiction treatment facility. Surrounding Cirque Lodge there is a number of hiking trails and nature trails. The experiential staff takes full advantage of these trails as a part of the recovery experience. In the winter, drug rehab clients have the opportunity to go snow shoeing as well as cross country skiing. The elements of the mountain and nature can provide a relaxed place for the addicted mind.

Provo Canyon is a world renowned location for fly fishing. Our clients have the opportunity in the warmer months to learn how to fly fish. Provo Canyon is also home to many bike paths, and our clients get to enjoy mountain bike rides through this beautiful canyon. In the summer there are opportunities to go river rafting and experience the world famous Provo River. The purpose is healing in nature. This healing can provide the needed change from within to overcome addiction.

For centuries, the Native Americans of this region have turned to the mountains for aspects of healing. It is an ideal environment of serenity and self discovery as well as healing from the natural experience. The clients of the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program are provided opportunities to experience the same for their addictions. Our clients can discover the healing of nature and of the mountain environment of Cirque Lodge.

Nature and the 12-Step Program

The initial steps of the 12-step program are designed to help the addict or alcoholic reconnect with a higher power. At Cirque Lodge, we use nature to enhance this process. A quiet place in nature surrounded by trees and wildlife can be quite the experience at connecting with that higher power. The experiential program is designed to provide a vital spiritual experience for the recovery process. Finding this spiritual change in nature can be all that is needed to achieve a lasting recovery.

True recovery is a psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual change. At Cirque Lodge, our drug rehab program is balanced to treat all of these aspects. However, the focus of nature and experiential activity is to provide the needed spiritual change.
