12-Step Drug Rehab Program
Cirque Lodge is based upon the 12-step modality developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. This storied method of treating addiction to alcohol or drugs is at the heart of our
drug rehab program. We do balance a number of treatment programs into the 12-step model for an effective recovery, but the steps of the 12-step method are still at the heart of recovery. The clients of Cirque Lodge Sundance Utah are allowed to begin working the steps of the 12-step modality in their own lives. With help of the 12-step program and continued support throughout, recovery is possible.
The 12-step program has been a method of addiction treatment for 70 years. Developed by the originators of the Alcoholics Anonymous program, the 12-step method is still utilized in drug rehab and alcohol rehab today. The 12-step program is a method of self inventory and addressing the personal issues at the heart of addiction. The 12-step program is a step by step process of this inventory and the aspects of life that need to be changed to find recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.
Drug Rehab and the 12-Step Program
At Cirque Lodge, we balance the 12-step program with a number of treatment aspects. Part of the purpose is to bring to light some of the addiction issues that need worked through, as a part of the 12-step process. The other reasoning is because the 12-step program doesn’t always take in a recovering alcoholic or addict. By offering more involved and in depth ways to use the 12-step program, our clients can have a more meaningful experience in a drug rehab program.
The 12-step program is a guideline for a psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual change from within. Drug rehab is designed to amplify these aspects with personalized therapy. Once the client understands the reasoning behind the addiction, they then have the steps needed to overcome that addiction. At Cirque Lodge, we offer a balance of therapy and activities to promote the emotional, spiritual and physical change from within the individual.
Addiction Treatment and a Spiritual Experience
The basis of the 12-step process is to turn over your addiction problems to a higher power. This higher power is different for all of us. The purpose is to find something greater than yourself to aide you in your recovery. The environment of the mountains and nature surrounding Cirque Lodge is ideal for finding this greater power. The nature activities of the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program will allow you to find that power greater than yourself.
The culminating aspect of the 12-step program is to receive a vital spiritual experience. This experience is what creates within the individual the desire for a lasting recovery and change. At Cirque Lodge, a purpose of our treatment and activities is to provide our clients with vital spiritual experiences. This invokes the change from within to truly overcome the addiction problem. Many of our treatment activities take place in nature. Surrounded by the beauties of the earth can be much more than therapeutic, they can be the life altering aspect to change the addictive behavior.
Just the Beginning of the 12-Steps
A 30-day program isn't really long enough to utilize the full benefit of the 12-step program. The purpose of drug rehab is to end the addiction and to begin each client on the initial steps of there recovery. The vital aspect of the 12-step recovery method is to receive the necessary means of support throughout the recovery process. Drug and alcohol rehab is the beginning of this support network. After the addiction treatment period is completed, each client is given opportunities to continue the 12-step work on an outpatient basis.
