Woven into all drug treatment elements is our experiential program. This is a number of activities used to enhance the program and build coping strategies for recovery. These are both indoor and outdoor activities that utilize nature as an instrument for healing. This combination of treatment and activities has been a strategy for many to find long term sobriety and successful recovery.
Personalized Drug Treatment
Alcohol and drug treatment at Cirque Lodge is based upon the individual. While people can share the malady of alcohol and drug addiction, the reasoning behind developing addiction can be very different. People come from different backgrounds. They have had different experiences when it comes to life. The program is intended to help each individual with a
drug treatment plan according to what they stand in need of. To additionally personalize drug rehab, each client also works with their own personal counselor throughout their stay in our addiction treatment facility.
When an individual is admitted into our
residential drug treatment program, they are placed through an assessment process. This is a rigorous process where our treatment staff determines the best course of action. It is a battery of tests and inventories that help our treatment team determine the nature of the individual and the level of addiction. Also this assessment process involves working with our staff psychiatric professional to determine any other underlying issues that may be present. Cirque Lodge is a dual diagnosis facility. We treat individuals struggling with psychiatric disorders and addictions. All of this is prepared into a treatment plan that is designed to meet the specific needs of the resident.
Experiential Activities and Programming
The incorporation of experiential activities takes the drug treatment elements of our facility to a whole new level. These are activities meant to build upon the recovery process. They provide a fun and unique atmosphere to alcohol and drug rehab. They are also highly effective at teaching imperative lessons regarding addiction and recovery. Our experiential team provides daily activities that are used to enhance the more rigorous elements of alcohol and
inpatient drug treatment. They also provide fun and enjoyment to what is usually a difficult process.
A part of experiential activity is the use of nature to help with the healing process. Nature is profoundly effective at helping the soul heal. Activities like hiking, snow shoeing, and mountain biking and rock climbing are an avenue for experiencing the majesty of nature. We even offer our clients a chance to go on helicopter flights to remote mountain locations. In this time they can go off by themselves and meditate on life changing decisions. Time away from the addiction treatment facility can be used for healing with the help of the mountain.
12-step Drug Treatment
The alcohol and drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge is based upon the 12-step modality developed Alcoholics Anonymous.
Many of the drug treatment elements have a foundation of 12-step recovery. Whether it is a personal program, group meeting or experiential activity, many concepts of 12-step recovery are implemented into the treatment of the individual. The 12-steps provide a guideline for when clients leave the addiction treatment facility.
The 12-step program is spiritually based, and many of our
national drug treatment elements are meant to get our residents spiritually focused. We strive to provide what is described in the Big Book as vital spiritual experiences. Such experiences can be a change of convictions. This can be a needed change for leaving behind the struggles of drugs or alcohol. Individuals who are suffering from addiction are struggling within themselves. 12-step recovery helps them find a focus and connection to something greater than themselves.
When drug rehab is completed, the 12-step program is what the individual has to rely upon when they leave treatment. The 12-step community is ever growing with new individuals striving for long term recovery. Before leaving the Cirque Lodge facility, each client is prescribed a continuing care plan, and 12-step meeting involvement.
