Balanced Programming in Drug Treatment

Residents are monitored as they undergo different forms of treatment and therapy; the program is tailored then to address individual areas of need for clients. Each resident receives therapy from a primary counselor that is assigned to them.

At the foundation of our treatment modality is the 12-step program. The 12-steps have been around for decades and they are predominant standard for providing recovery. Cirque residents begin the process of working the steps while in rehab, and begin to establish connections to a higher power. Cirque uses the spirit of the mountain and the power of nature to help residents discover this connection on their own. The advantage to the 12-step effort is the support network that is available after leaving our inpatient drug treatment center. Programs like AA NA CA and similar 12-step sobriety efforts can provide needed support for the recovery process.

The one area where Cirque Lodge is a little different from another leading drug treatment center is in our use of experiential activities. Our unique location provides us with a number of venues for nature based mountain activities. There are many purposes to them as well. Activities like our ropes course can help teach lessons for recovery. Elements of nature are used to help teach concepts of the 12-step program. Unique activities like working with horses and the Cirque Lodge helicopter can provide vital spiritual experiences. It is a highly effective piece to our addiction treatment and recovery program.

Post Inpatient Drug Treatment

The impulses of drug addiction take time to successfully overcome. Even after a person leaves alcohol rehab or drug rehab, they still are faced with the triggers and impulses to use their drug of choice. They must learn strategies to overcome these impulses and ways to manage their lives in a manner where addiction can not thrive. Cirque provides resident with privileges and opportunities to help them during the recovery process. Former residents can return to our facility and guest with us. This is available only to individuals who have stayed sober. Aftercare activities and programs are also provided throughout the year to keep residents in touch with the facility and with the support of fellow Cirque alum.

Upon completion of the alcohol and drug rehab program at Cirque Lodge, each resident is prescribed a continuing care plan for the recovery process. Residents begin working with our aftercare staff the weeks preceding discharge. They come up with a plan to continue the efforts that were developed during their drug treatment stay. This can include a sober living house, additional therapy, and support group. Central to this plan is the 12-step program and continued involvement in a fellowship and working with a sponsor. Following the Continuing Care Plan is a solid foundation for relapse prevention and achieving successful recovery.
