Drug Treatment Programs

Cirque has many residential drug treatment programs it uses to help our residents. This is a balance of individual, group and even family elements. Traditional forms of treatment and therapies are utilized in conjunction with a number of the most modern forms of cognitive and behavioral treatments. Woven into this alcohol and drug rehab approach is our experiential program. Indoor and outdoor activities are used to teach recovery lessons and develop the skills needed for a life long sobriety. The experiential therapy introduces an element of fun to the more intensive aspects of the drug treatment program, and provides a venue for vital spiritual experiences.

Cirque is founded on the modality of the 12-step program. This is a traditional approach to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Many of the drug treatment programs utilized at Cirque Lodge have a foundation in the concepts of a 12-step recovery. During a treatment stay, Cirque Lodge residents begin the process of 12-step recovery. Programs and elements are put into place to help residents connect to their higher power, and build support for the recovery process. Residents are also involved in 12-step meetings and can even work with a temporary addiction sponsor while they are here. This can help them to get into the practice of fellowship, for when they leave safety of the residential facility.

Addiction treatment also consists of a number of programs that deal with the behaviors and other problems of addiction. Virtually every drug addict has either a problem with codependency or a psychiatric condition that fuels their behavior. Programs are put into place to help the addict come to terms with behavior and establishing boundaries for overcoming such actions. Personal therapies and dual diagnosis are also used to help residents to deal with co-occurring psychiatric conditions, and other serious issues like trauma and grief.

Family Treatment Programs

One of the inpatient drug treatment programs used at Cirque Lodge involves our resident's families. Many of the problems that have a hand in drug addiction can be traced to family problems. Codependent relationships, abuse, broken homes and traumatic experiences can all be deeply influential in developing an addiction. The family program helps individuals to establish boundaries and develop support for their loves ones who are struggling. Family Week takes place every three weeks. Every resident is encouraged to take the opportunity to invite their family to participate.

Family Week also consists of an effective drug treatment program. Lectures and workshops are provided to better educate family members on the nature of addiction. Experiential activities are used to show family members how to resolve problems through effective lines of communication. Therapy sessions are implemented to tear down the barriers built up by the addiction and allow for honest and open communication. Family members also are instructed on aftercare, and the need for an active and involved recovery process. These things can be integral to a lasting, successful sobriety.

Continuing Drug Treatment and Recovery

Many times, individuals leave drug and alcohol rehab and shortly relapse thereafter. This can be avoided by continuing day-to-day with programs that help with the recovery process. Over time, the impulses to use and to drink begin to lessen. Prior to leaving the residential drug treatment programs at Cirque Lodge, residents are prepared with a Continuing Care Plan. This consists of additional treatment elements for the recovery process. Each resident works with our aftercare staff in developing a personalized Continuing Care Plan that meet their needs.

There are many elements that can go into a Continuing Care Plan. For some, this means additional time spent in a sober living house, as well as still working closely with an addiction therapist. Continuing Care Plans also consists of an active involvement with a 12-step fellowship and working with a sponsor. Recovery is a process and can be a difficult struggle at times. Following the Continuing Care Plan is a solid means for staying sober and receiving needed support after one has left the care of a residential drug treatment program.
