Outdoor Experiential Therapy
Outdoor
experiential therapy activities include hiking, snowshoeing, and a life-enhancing heli-experience. Cirque Lodge utilizes a Eurocopter EC130, one of the most advanced and quiet helicopters made. The EC130 provides safe and exciting transportation through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. This helps residents experience a connection with themselves and their higher power an essential aspect to drug treatment with the experiential therapy program.
There is an advantage to therapy in nature. Being surrounded by the beautiful raw elements of the earth can help those suffering from addiction.
Experiential therapy in the mountains provides an ideal backdrop for finding a higher power, meditation, self reflection, and decision making. It also is a therapeutic release from the rigors of the personal issues treated in a drug rehab center.
Equine Experiential Therapy
Cirque Lodge also offers a comprehensive and effective equine therapy program. Dave Beck, a licensed substance abuse counselor, equine therapist and lifelong horse trainer, provides various challenges to the residents. These activities are geared to help the residents overcome personal challenges that limit their ability to communicate and solve problems.
In experiential therapy, horses serve as a natural intervention. Horses are extremely intelligent animals and provide direct feedback and responses through action. Indoor Experiential Therapy
Indoor experiential therapy activities revolve around the country's most effective indoor ropes and challenge course. This indoor challenge course is situated in a 17,000 square foot movie and television sound stage and is complimented by a 6,000-watt sound system. This dedicated course features both high and low elements designed to foster trust, communication and problem solving, with some elements developed just for fun.
The experiential therapy program is multifaceted in its effort for treating the clients of Cirque Lodge. Some of the activities are designed to allow our residents to enjoy themselves while in treatment. Others are to teach simple principles and basic coping tools for the recovery process. The ropes course provides a little of both. It is fun, but also effective at challenging the addiction in a physical way.
Our
experiential therapy program is designed so that all residents can participate at their individual level of physical conditioning, so that the activities are both effective and therapeutic. Cirque Lodge is dedicated to providing its residents with the clinical drug addiction treatment and experiential treatment necessary to facilitate the process of healing, hope and recovery from substance abuse. All of this takes place in a private drug rehab center in the serenity of the mountains.
