My name is Dave Beck, and I am the Director of experiential therapy at Cirque Lodge. An effective alcohol and drug rehab program is built around the concept of individualized treatment. This combines the best of the proven 12-step program, individual and group therapy, and experiential therapy. Drug rehab for alcoholism or drug addiction should be fun and we want this to be the best experience of your life. We will give you the tools necessary to aide you in your recovery. Our drug rehab facility is located in majestic Sundance Utah.

Experiential therapy provides an added dimension to our drug rehab program here at Cirque Lodge. It also creates a fun atmosphere of excitement and learning. We use things like horses, a ropes course and even a private helicopter in helping residents to find recovery. The unique location of the Lodge allows us to take full advantage of nature and the mountain. Hiking, biking, and river activities are all used for experiential learning. In the winter time, snow shoeing and snow hikes are also provided.

Equine Therapy

One of the unique parts of our drug rehab program stems from equine therapy. Residents are given opportunities to work with the Cirque horses on occasion. Horses are highly perceptive animals, and it can be a process to gain their trust. The ability to effectively communicate with horses helps us to know how to better communicate with humans. Lessons in equine therapy also teach the importance of asking for help with things beyond one's control.

The equine therapy offered at Cirque Lodge develops powerful bond between man and animal and can teach several unique lessons about life. Our drug rehab residents learn the importance of taking care of something other than their drug addictions. Horses are amazingly intelligent animals. It is easy to lead them, but you must earn their trust first. The effects of developing a trusting relationship with a horse are profound. Using this as part of our addiction treatment program has proven very successful over the years.

Fly Fishing

Cirque Lodge is located near the Provo River, renowned for its rugged beauty and year-round fly fishing. Because of its location, the alcohol and drug rehab facility at Cirque Lodge utilizes the surrounding natural environment. Those in drug rehab can have therapeutic and challenging lessons while learning to fly fish. Fly fishing takes timing, patience, and focus; three aspects of life to overcome the struggles of addiction. It also takes amazing concentration.

Fly fishing also provides a great sense of freedom. The concentration it takes to develop a successful cast can be a welcome relief from any worries or problems our residents may have. It provides a release from the things weighing them down while in drug rehab. Our residents can let go of all outside influences and concentrate on the fishing rod and river. The enjoyment of fly fishing isn't in the result of number of fish caught. It can be found in developing and honing in the skills it takes to catch one fish. Many people who learn to fly fish fall in love with it.

Helicopter Therapy

Part of the effective and proven 12-step program becomes more real while hiking on a 10,000 foot ridgeline with no sign of civilization in sight. Getting there in the private Eurocopter EC-130 helicopter owned by Cirque Lodge is an exhilarating and exciting experience. Residents of our drug rehab center experience nature unlike any other drug treatment center in the world. You can enhance your experience in addiction treatment by participating in one of our helicopter tours which transports you high into the beautiful surrounding mountains.

The helicopter ride is one of the most memorable parts of the Cirque Lodge drug rehab program. The view alone from the top of these mountain locations is worth the trip. We use the helicopter to get to locations that just can't be hiked to. It is a chance to experience nature in drug rehab in such a remote setting. Our drug rehab residents get to hike around the amazing landscape of the mountain tops. They will get to experience wildlife in its own habitat. This can help them to connect with their higher power. Many of our residents love the helicopter ride as a part of their drug rehab experience.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is just one of the many activities provided to help drug rehab residents at Cirque Lodge. There is a catch, however. It is not just for fun and exercise in drug rehab, but for therapy. Mountain bike rides take in the beautiful surroundings of Provo Canyon. The destinations of these trips can be used for teaching lessons of the 12-step program, and approaches for recovery. Mountain biking also provides exercise for residents and a fun outlet from the more rigorous therapies that are found in addiction treatment and our drug rehab program.
